Learning Management System adds Initial and Annual OSHA Training Curriculum

February 23, 2011 – Acworth, GA – Trapezio has officially launched the Academy of OSHA Safety, a new online course designed to educate and train orthodontic team members on federally mandated OSHA requirements. The new Academy program offers a comprehensive look at vital safety topics including bloodborne pathogens, hazard communication, and general office safety. It is now available as part of the new Learning Management System (LMS) offered by Trapezio.

“This is a much needed addition to the Trapezio LMS,” says Linda Reese, Executive Director of Trapezio. “We have worked for the last twelve years to create training programs that fit the needs of our customers, but this is really a topic no practice can do without.”

The in-depth content of the Academy of OSHA Safety was developed by a veteran consultant with almost 40 years of dental experience. Leslie Canham, founder of Leslie Canham and Associates, is authorized by the Department of Labor as an OSHA Outreach Trainer in General Industry Standards. She speaks within the U.S. and abroad to dental societies, study clubs and organizations as well as being a moderator of the Infection Control Forum on Dentaltown.com. Leslie adds the Academy of OSHA Safety to her extensive list of articles and continuing education courses.

Like other Trapezio courses, the Academy of OSHA Safety is structured to ensure maximum comprehension by students. Each of the three lessons requires an examination with an overall passing score of at least 75%. Scoring is securely stored in the system for administrative review, future assessments, and tracking of annually required OSHA training. Once all exams have been passed, team members and administrators can print the OSHA Certificate of Completion to store within their office OSHA manual. This competency-based education model improves retention compared to generic web-based seminars or webinars.

In today’s cloud computing environment, traveling is no longer necessary to gain access to advanced and proven education on orthodontic fundamentals. Trapezio’s LMS provides easy access to not only the OSHA course, but other orthodontic related training programs. With over 45,000 examinations already administered, the Trapezio LMS brings affordable continuing education to the doorstep of orthodontic practices worldwide. For more information regarding the Academy of OSHA Safety or the Trapezio learning suite, visit www.trapezio.com.

Online Learning Management System adds Zuelke-based Financial Coordinator program

January 18, 2011 – Acworth, GA – Trapezio announces the official launch of the Academy of Financial Coordinators, a new online course designed specifically for the Orthodontic Financial Coordinator. The new Academy program, authored by Zuelke and Associates, Inc., offers orthodontic practices access to one of the industry’s most comprehensive and proven financial management systems. The expertise of Zuelke’s methodologies combined with the convenient online access of Trapezio’s Learning Management System (LMS) will give users the ability to immediately implement efficient processes related to risk identification, credit management, accounts receivable control, collections, practice metrics and much more.

The in-depth content of the Zuelke Financial Coordinator Certification course was developed as a “needed outlet [for access to the Zuelke systems and fundamentals] by practices all across the nation.” The informative and engaging 10-course program details the financial process from start to finish and is perfect not only for the experienced or novice financial coordinator but also for office managers and doctors. “Trapezio is honored to add the financial program to our online learning center,” said Chad Greer, President of Trapezio. “The principles in this course have been battle tested for over 30 years. There is little argument that Zuelke & Associates’ concepts can help lead to better financial health for practices of all sizes.”

Unlike most continuing education, the Trapezio LMS not only structures content as building blocks but also requires an examination at the end of each lesson. Successful completion of the course requires a passing average score on the ten exams. Scoring is securely stored in the system for administrative review and future assessments. This competency-based education model improves retention compared to generic web-based seminars or webinars. “While not intended to replace the one on one, multi-day, training offered by in-office consulting, this course has been designed to provide a solid level of basic training for the Financial Coordinator position in the orthodontic office,” said Paul Zuelke, President of Zuelke & Associates, Inc. “Upon successful completion of this course, the Financial Coordinator will have the tools to help the practice gain greater case acceptance, to eliminate patient delinquency, and to generate higher productivity and profitability and, most importantly, a greater quality of life within the practice.”

In today’s cloud computing environment, traveling is no longer a necessity to gain access to advanced and proven education on orthodontic fundamentals. Trapezio’s LMS provides easy access to not only the Financial Coordinator program but other orthodontic related training for everyone in the practice. With over 45,000 examinations already administered, the Trapezio LMS brings affordable continuing education to the doorstep of orthodontic practices worldwide.

Learning Management System adds Treatment Coordinator curriculum

June 3, 2010 – Acworth, GA – Trapezio has officially launched the Academy of Treatment Coordinators, a new online course designed specifically for the Treatment Coordinator (TC). The new Academy program offers a comprehensive look at the role of the TC and provides ways to improve the new patient process for virtually any practice. It is now available as part of the new Learning Management System (LMS) offered by Trapezio.

“This is an exciting addition to the Trapezio LMS,” says Linda Reese, Executive Director of Trapezio. “The TC is considered such a critical position in today’s economy, having the right person and the right experience in this role can make or break a practice. The new TC program brings a variety of perspectives to help improve production.”

The in-depth content of the Academy of Treatment Coordinators is developed by an active TC who works full-time in a thriving practice. The author, Sandra Issiac, provides real-world examples and concepts that can be put to work for any orthodontic practice. Mrs. Issiac has created an engaging and informative 10-course program covering the new patient process from start to finish. The TC course covers a variety of topics including: the initial phone call, details of the office tour, exam room protocols, and ending with “closing the deal.” The lessons are structured to cover the entire new patient experience, bringing ideas and insight to polish current processes.

In today’s cloud computing environment, traveling is no longer a necessity to gain access to advanced and proven education on orthodontic fundamentals. Trapezio’s LMS provides easy access to not only the TC course but other orthodontic related training programs. With over 45,000 examinations already administered, the Trapezio LMS brings affordable continuing education to the doorstep of orthodontic practices worldwide.
May 5, 2010 – Acworth, GA – Trapezio (formerly the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting) has officially launched its new version of the popular online learning system. After months of design and development, the new framework is now available. Built on a modern web-based infrastructure, the new release provides users access and permission to multi-course content, licensing and reporting. The framework provides the foundation for curriculum expansion and observable administration.

“Trapezio has one goal, to provide the best education and online training tools to orthodontic practices around the world. We want to continue filling the accessibility gap that remains in the industry,” says Chad Greer, President of Trapezio. “Bringing education to a central portal provides ease of access for virtually every practice.”

Trapezio has raised the bar for orthodontic staff education. The new interface is user-apparent and requires virtually no training to implement and roll out to the practice. With over 40,000 examinations already administered, the new platform adds even more capacity for learning modules, web-based training and collaboration tools for small or large practices. For more information regarding the Trapezio learning suite, visit www.trapezio.com.

Dawn Hill Sets World Record for Elastomeric Ligature Placement

May 7, 2010 – Acworth, GA – Trapezio (formerly the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting) announces winners from the 3rd Annual Technique Competition. As part of the AAO Annual Session, Trapezio hosted hundreds of contestants from all across the U.S. and abroad attempting to best the time of their peers. Placing ties on the upper and lower 5 to 5 is no small task when surrounded by dozens of onlookers of your own profession. Overcoming the butterflies and nervous shakes takes precision and patience to accurately and quickly place these auxiliaries.

Dawn Hill - The World's Fastest Asssistant

This year’s contest proved to be a big hit once again. With hundreds of assistants giving it their best shot, the competition was hosted in the Trapezio booth surrounded by checkered flags. Each day proved to be a day of new records, with nerves settling over the four day event, times were slowly trimmed until a clear winner appeared.

Dawn Hill of Rigali and Walder Orthodontics (Massachusetts) was obviously the talent to beat. Each day she set a new record for others to try and match. To no avail, her record time could not be over taken. With a world record of one minute and twelve seconds, Dawn took home the Grand Prize: an Amazon Kindle.

Winners for the 3rd Annual Technique Competition

7th International Orthodontic Congress

Trapezio completes world-wide event for launch into Australia and New Zealand

Sydney, Australia – 15 February 2010 - Trapezio, formerly the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting (AOA), completed its first world event for launching the new company brand and product suite.

The 7th International Orthodontic Congress was host to the company’s first step into the international market since rebranding as Trapezio. With hundreds of customers already in Australia and New Zealand, this was the first time to meet the company’s new facelift in person. Trapezio was represented by Lana Simpson from Beresford Orthodontics located in Auckland, New Zealand and Dr. Doug Depew, founder and Academic Director of Trapezio.

New Zealand and Australia have always grasped the need for continuing education and remain just as competitive and progressive as their counterparts here in the U.S. Trapezio, through its AOA Online Course, provides a required component for New Zealand certification for the orthodontic auxiliary. New assistants, hygienists or technicians can take the online AOA program and then apply for the hands-on component in order to gain the certificates needed to be employable.

“We are proud of the partners, customers and graduates from Australia and New Zealand,” says Linda Reese, Executive Director at Trapezio. They have played a big role in our success and have helped shape the quality of our programs. As we expand the Trapezio learning suite in 2010, I expect that our friends ’half-a-world’ away will be the early adopters.”

With the American Association of Orthodontists venue just three months away, Trapezio expects to further its position as the nation’s leading provider of orthodontic team education. Trapezio is expected to launch a variety of new products at this year’s meeting. The largest assembly of American based orthodontists in the world.

Component draws students from the Great White North

Recent hands-on component draws students from the Great White North

12 February 2010 – Acworth, GA – Trapezio, formerly the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting (AOA), just completed the first of many hands-on training courses at its local headquarters in the greater Atlanta area.

The retreat hosted visitors from as far away as Montana and Ontario. Utilizing the latest advances in orthodontic technology and its state-of-the-art training facility, Trapezio leaps into 2010 with the first of many scheduled hands-on retreats. The Level I component is the first in a two-level series to help clinical assistants improve their working knowledge and experience as straightening care givers.

The 2-day event covers topics such as fitting bands, bonding brackets, x-rays, impressions, intra-oral procedures, model trimming and much more. As leading orthodontists look for ways to improve productivity and increase the hands-on knowledge of their clinical teams, Trapezio seminars are an affordable way to accomplish training without disrupting the daily routine of the rest of the practice.

“The hands-on retreats are a great way to get invaluable insight and experience for clinical team members,” says Nicole Pavon, Trapezio’s lead Clinical Instructor. “It’s a great way for assistants to get additional training in a real clinical environment. We have an instructor/student ratio of one to four and that allows for a higher quality training to take place.”

Trapezio is continuing its hands-on courses throughout 2010, the next available retreat will be held on March 26-27. This event will host a guest speaker and instructor, Dr. Myron Guymon, who will be teaching an extended component on modern wire bending techniques. The Level II retreat also covers topics such as TADs, lasers, bonding, ceph tracing, PVS and more. If you would like more information on this or any future hands-on retreat, please contact us at 877-976-4536.
