Learning Management System adds Treatment Coordinator curriculum

June 3, 2010 – Acworth, GA – Trapezio has officially launched the Academy of Treatment Coordinators, a new online course designed specifically for the Treatment Coordinator (TC). The new Academy program offers a comprehensive look at the role of the TC and provides ways to improve the new patient process for virtually any practice. It is now available as part of the new Learning Management System (LMS) offered by Trapezio.

“This is an exciting addition to the Trapezio LMS,” says Linda Reese, Executive Director of Trapezio. “The TC is considered such a critical position in today’s economy, having the right person and the right experience in this role can make or break a practice. The new TC program brings a variety of perspectives to help improve production.”

The in-depth content of the Academy of Treatment Coordinators is developed by an active TC who works full-time in a thriving practice. The author, Sandra Issiac, provides real-world examples and concepts that can be put to work for any orthodontic practice. Mrs. Issiac has created an engaging and informative 10-course program covering the new patient process from start to finish. The TC course covers a variety of topics including: the initial phone call, details of the office tour, exam room protocols, and ending with “closing the deal.” The lessons are structured to cover the entire new patient experience, bringing ideas and insight to polish current processes.

Unlike most continuing education, the Trapezio LMS not only structures content as building blocks but also requires an examination at the end of each lesson. Successful completion of the course requires a passing average score on the ten exams. Scoring is securely stored in the system for administrative review and future assessments. This competency-based education model improves retention compared to generic web-based seminars or webinars.

In today’s cloud computing environment, traveling is no longer a necessity to gain access to advanced and proven education on orthodontic fundamentals. Trapezio’s LMS provides easy access to not only the TC course but other orthodontic related training programs. With over 45,000 examinations already administered, the Trapezio LMS brings affordable continuing education to the doorstep of orthodontic practices worldwide. For more information regarding the Academy of Treatment Coordinators or the Trapezio learning suite, visit www.trapezio.com.

eLearning system tailored specifically for the orthodontic market

May 5, 2010 – Acworth, GA – Trapezio (formerly the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting) has officially launched its new version of the popular online learning system. After months of design and development, the new framework is now available. Built on a modern web-based infrastructure, the new release provides users access and permission to multi-course content, licensing and reporting. The framework provides the foundation for curriculum expansion and observable administration.

“Trapezio has one goal, to provide the best education and online training tools to orthodontic practices around the world. We want to continue filling the accessibility gap that remains in the industry,” says Chad Greer, President of Trapezio. “Bringing education to a central portal provides ease of access for virtually every practice.”

The Learning Management System offers a simple and effective way to measure competency in the practice. Teaming with the most influential and impactful experts in the industry, the Trapezio programs bring the best-of-breed concepts, fundamentals and practice management recommendations to a central location. Traveling is no longer a necessity to gain access to the industry’s most advanced and proven methods of operational excellence.

Trapezio has raised the bar for orthodontic staff education. The new interface is user-apparent and requires virtually no training to implement and roll out to the practice. With over 40,000 examinations already administered, the new platform adds even more capacity for learning modules, web-based training and collaboration tools for small or large practices. For more information regarding the Trapezio learning suite, visit www.trapezio.com.

Dawn Hill Sets World Record for Elastomeric Ligature Placement

May 7, 2010 – Acworth, GA – Trapezio (formerly the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting) announces winners from the 3rd Annual Technique Competition. As part of the AAO Annual Session, Trapezio hosted hundreds of contestants from all across the U.S. and abroad attempting to best the time of their peers. Placing ties on the upper and lower 5 to 5 is no small task when surrounded by dozens of onlookers of your own profession. Overcoming the butterflies and nervous shakes takes precision and patience to accurately and quickly place these auxiliaries.

Dawn Hill - The World's Fastest Asssistant

This year’s contest proved to be a big hit once again. With hundreds of assistants giving it their best shot, the competition was hosted in the Trapezio booth surrounded by checkered flags. Each day proved to be a day of new records, with nerves settling over the four day event, times were slowly trimmed until a clear winner appeared.

Dawn Hill of Rigali and Walder Orthodontics (Massachusetts) was obviously the talent to beat. Each day she set a new record for others to try and match. To no avail, her record time could not be over taken. With a world record of one minute and twelve seconds, Dawn took home the Grand Prize: an Amazon Kindle.

Winners for the 3rd Annual Technique Competition
Grand Prize (World Record) – Dawn Hill, (Drs.Rigali and Walder) 1 minute 12 seconds
Second Place (tie) – Bree Snyder, (Lucas Orthodontics) 1 minute 17 seconds
Second Place (tie)– Eileen Harlin, (Drs. Isaacs, Nawy & Ferrell) 1 minute 17 seconds
Fourth Place – Dina Serrano (Star Orthodontics) 1 minute 26 seconds

“What a great four days of competition! The contestants were very competitive and really into the contest,” says Linda Reese, Executive Director of Trapezio. “Each year even more talent appears and I think we may soon see someone close in on the one minute mark. This competition is a great way to share and experience the hidden talents of orthodontic assistants.”

Sydney, Australia – 15 February 2010 - Trapezio, formerly the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting (AOA), completed its first world event for launching the new company brand and product suite.

The 7th International Orthodontic Congress was host to the company’s first step into the international market since rebranding as Trapezio. With hundreds of customers already in Australia and New Zealand, this was the first time to meet the company’s new facelift in person. Trapezio was represented by Lana Simpson from Beresford Orthodontics located in Auckland, New Zealand and Dr. Doug Depew, founder and Academic Director of Trapezio.

New Zealand and Australia have always grasped the need for continuing education and remain just as competitive and progressive as their counterparts here in the U.S. Trapezio, through its AOA Online Course, provides a required component for New Zealand certification for the orthodontic auxiliary. New assistants, hygienists or technicians can take the online AOA program and then apply for the hands-on component in order to gain the certificates needed to be employable.

Recent hands-on component draws students from the Great White North

12 February 2010 – Acworth, GA – Trapezio, formerly the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting (AOA), just completed the first of many hands-on training courses at its local headquarters in the greater Atlanta area.

The retreat hosted visitors from as far away as Montana and Ontario. Utilizing the latest advances in orthodontic technology and its state-of-the-art training facility, Trapezio leaps into 2010 with the first of many scheduled hands-on retreats. The Level I component is the first in a two-level series to help clinical assistants improve their working knowledge and experience as straightening care givers.

The 2-day event covers topics such as fitting bands, bonding brackets, x-rays, impressions, intra-oral procedures, model trimming and much more. As leading orthodontists look for ways to improve productivity and increase the hands-on knowledge of their clinical teams, Trapezio seminars are an affordable way to accomplish training without disrupting the daily routine of the rest of the practice.

“The hands-on retreats are a great way to get invaluable insight and experience for clinical team members,” says Nicole Pavon, Trapezio’s lead Clinical Instructor. “It’s a great way for assistants to get additional training in a real clinical environment. We have an instructor/student ratio of one to four and that allows for a higher quality training to take place.”

Marketing and distinction program for qualified orthodontic practices is now available

Marketing and distinction program for qualified orthodontic practices is now available

January 18, 2010 – Acworth, GA – Trapezio (formerly the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting) just announced the official launch of its AOA Team Certified program. The program helps qualified practices promote their commitment to care and team education to the community. Practices that have successfully met the competency requirements of the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting receive this distinguished recognition.

“Being Team Certified helps validate a practice’s commitment to improving care and that message can be shared on a website, in print or even at a new patient consult. This is a great way for the progressive practice to keep differentiating from the competition.” said Chad Greer, President of Trapezio.

The AOA Team Certified program offered by Trapezio allows practices to promote their education milestones to the public. Too often patients and responsible parties have a hard time understanding the differences between practices. Practices that invest in their team’s education and knowledge advancement now have an avenue and resource for self-promotion in a tasteful manner. Trapezio, home of the Academy, believes that high-performing practices understand the importance of a Team commitment, and that commitment comes not only from great care with the patient but also with continuing education and ancillary training.

The Team Certified promotional program offers distinctive logos and text copy for practice web sites and print brochures as well as scripts for their on-hold messaging systems. Two distinctions are currently available, Team Certified Standard and Team Certified Gold. For a list of current practices that are Team Certified, visit www.trapezio.com/courses/team-certified.

Authored by a practicing orthodontist and the industry’s most well known consultants, Trapezio’s Academy is the most comprehensive online knowledge solution for orthodontic assistants. For more information on Trapezio’s Team Certified Program, please visit our website at www.trapezio.com/courses/team-certified.

Online education provider opens up free job posting resource for Orthodontists

Online education provider opens up free job posting resource for Orthodontists

December 9, 2009 Acworth, GA – Trapezio (formerly the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting) just announced the opening of its new Career Center today. The primary purpose of the new career center is to assist orthodontists looking to fill new or empty positions. The online service is free for all orthodontists nationwide.

“We know how tough it can be out there when looking for work, for every little bit we can do during tough times, we’re happy to contribute. We have the technology and resources to provide such a great service and we are proud to help the market place anyway that we can.” said Linda Reese, Executive Director.

Advertising online or in the local newspaper for open positions is very expensive; one job posting can cost over four hundred dollars a month. With the Trapezio Career Center, searches pertaining to the orthodontic specific jobs result in local, regional and national exposure for new job postings. Practice managers and doctors can also browse through available candidates that have posted resumes in the Career Center.

As an endorsed education provider, the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting (AOA) provides the fundamental knowledge base needed to enter the orthodontic workforce. With thousands of graduates and hundreds of active practices utilizing the program, the AOA continues to advance the knowledge of orthodontic technique and theory through its online Academy. Graduates from Trapezio’s Academy often post their resumes in the Career Center for extra visibility to those doctors looking for new talent.

For more information on Trapezio’s Career Center, please visit our website at www.trapezio.com/career-center.
