I’m not the most knowledgeable when it comes to this band’s full discography but when the mood strikes I go down deep holes. Hoping that as a full time Vermonter these days I’ll be able to see them on tour and am psyched to see they are going to drop some new music soon, according to someone on here.

I am sure that it’s better for the overall venues and sound at shows but I am absolutely shocked these dudes aren’t bigger than they are. They have so many bangers it’s ridiculous. Won’t be too long winded but just wanted to say high and hope to interact with some like minded.

It's a 12" red vinyl 45-rpm 3-song EP. It includes Eric, Brian, Michael Elson, Anna Tivel, Nate Vanderpool.

Eric is going back to his earlier etherial sound even more. I feel like Holy Smokes Future Jokes is the undercurrent of his poppier music, and the songs here are a deeper and darker part of that same stream. Or like if you melted down HSFJ and there was more of it oozing between the layers. This EP makes me feel like I'm in a dusty old room at midnight with trippy red and purple lighting effects, and the walls are lined with creepy ceramic animal figurines that seem like they could fall, smash open and release ghosts at any moment.

Edit - oops, should've included the song titles -
Side A
Cheap Fantastical Takedown
Side B
Millions of Billions
Ghost & the Snakebite

fabarmadillo on Black River Killer's first kill

I'm curious how all of you folks interpret the first verse of Black River Killer. Because the narrator never tells us whether or not he committed the first crime. So, do you think he did kill her and was always simply driven to murder? Or, do you think he was falsely accused, and the rest of the murders are for revenge?

Edit: I should probably give context for why I'm asking this. It's because, for a decade, I just assumed he had killed her. Then I took BRK to a voice lesson, and when I tried singing it as the character, I realized he probably didn't. Has anyone else really thought about this??? It's wild, because it changes the narrator's motivations for the entire story. Which is something I think about a lot as a singer. (I have no idea what Eric actually intended.)
