20th Century - What's Our Fashion Style Like?

I can boldly say that the only fashion sense we have in the 20th century are the shutter shades, a pop culture staple created by Kayne West, who was design-inspired by this similar style called the Venetian Blinders last seen in the 80's.

When I mean fashion style, I mean something new, fresh out of the oven and something the worldwide general public will wear.

Don't tell me retro, hippy, vintage; Those are fashion styles that belonged to the early 40's - 80's. Not something brought from the past that are revived.

Crocs can be another fashion, but is it fashionable enough? Uh...... (Biased)

So, what's the new 20th century?!

You think you're very funny. You think it's funny. You laugh at people's imperfections. You mock at people's mistakes. But who's the funny one?

It's never okay to laugh at someone (unless he/she is entertaining you), whether is he born with a humongous nose or an ass as huge as an elephant, you just don't laugh at somebody's imperfections. Do you even think he/she like it like that? Do you really think they have a choice?

For instance, this fat guy laughed at my obesity. Like, hello? You weigh twice as much, so who are you to laugh my size?

Some fella fell into the drain, and instead of helping that poor chap up, people passed him by and chuckled over his carelessness, without giving thought of his safety.

A fight broke up in a club and bystanders cheered on.

Seriously, what is wrong with you people?

Are we brought up to be such uncivilized society? Should we behave in such distasteful manner? We need a change.

You may have heard about the naked couple that went parading their naked assets around Holland V, and might have gossiped a bit "OMG, how can such thing happen in Singapore?"

Well, let me tell you. It can; anything can happen in Singapore. In fact if I were present I would have applaud and shook hands with them.

What's wrong with you people? It's just naked bodies. Eventually you'd have to see it anyway, unless you believe it's against your religion, then fine you can have it your way. Many guys and girls watch porn, or might have seen a naked body. So why make a big fuss about that? Funny people

One thing that pisses me badly is when people went "OMG, EWW WHY ARE THEY NAKED?!" with their eyes still glued to the naked couple. HOW CONTRADICTING.

Your long awaited entry is here! "That's not rain, it's liquid sunshine!" I will always remember what the bus driver said as he drove along the streets of Melbourne City. It was drizzling and he cracked that joke I thought was not only the heartwarming optimism that the people in but left a deep impression in me.

Hey, it's me in the bustling city of Melbourne. Too bad TYH isn't with us, or else it would be FUN x 100. But hey, having 3 girls traveling together isn't a bad idea after all! This trip made us understand each other better, and oh, what else..shopping? Ha you really don't wanna know.

The place we were lodging in was smacked right in the middle of the city. Accessible, safer and very convenient in terms of shopping, food and sightseeing. It's an apartment and only cost us 800AUD for the rest our 9-day stay in Melbourne.

The humble living room. See that sofa? I slept throughout the entire stay.

I know many are particular, verdict: their toilets are SUPER clean.

We got there by this shuttle service called SkyBus (26AUD/2-Way) that has an additional free hotel shuttle service which fetches you back to the airport.

We were greeted by the freezing ass cold winter here in Melbourne but we're all ready to fight it!
In order to blog proper entries, I have decided to blog according to categories, i.e. Food, Places of Interests, Shopping..if there's more to come, I'll add on.

Day 1 was nothing much really. Besides planning our day tours and catching up and stoning in Starbucks, enjoying a hot cup of Starbucks coffee which Samantha has craved for since I don't-know-when (Perth has no Starbucks, apparently), our day was nothing but shopping and eating and walking.

Happy with her dose of caffeine.

The day ended early. 6P.M and most retail outlets are closed for the day which to much our dismay, shopping had to end too. But sightseeing went on, with Samantha and me prowling the streets at night with the already "dead" Aveline back home watching TV.

Creak! Crack? Croak.

That's probably what you'll hear when I walk pass you. Yes, I'm back from Perth and now practically doing my dirty laundry and trying to keep myself away from all the yummy food that awaits me at the nearby hawker centre. You don't know how desperate I am from all the sandwiches, and fried battered food I had in OZ that made me crave for local delights in Singapore! Like what I always tell Aveline and Samantha, I can eat a cow!

Anyway, as I know you guys are still patiently waiting my update of OZ, I have to apologize. As much as I want to update about OZ, I've got a gazillion photos yet to be recieved and much editing to be done so those might take time. I would most likely blog about OZ next week? :) Your wait is truly appreciated.

Meanwhile waiting, why not catch an awesome movie I've caught with Samantha called Mozart and the Whale, this awesome film starring Josh Hartnett and Radha Mitchell? A soul lifting, sweet and cute (of course, with Josh Hartnett in it), dramatic, romantic comedy inspired by the lives of two people with Asperger's Syndrome, a form of autism, whose emotional dysfunctions threaten to sabotage their budding romance. By the way, we both love the entire film, so if you're wondering if it's worth watching, go figure.

Whee, now that I'm done with what I wanna say, I'm off to my beauty sleep. :)

Missing me, anyone? Yeong's reporting love from Perth and I just wanna tell you how much I miss eating seafood hor fun (long story; I'll elaborate later after I've returned from Australia)

Anyways, I've about 4 more days in Perth here and I know this might sound exaggerating but the whole trip is just amazing (although I really think the weather in Perth is cranky and Melbourne is just freezing ass cold) Shopping, food and sceneries...you can't ask for more!

I thought I was dead. Literally, dead.

Shot in the head and the shoulder blade by a kingpin. Attemptiing to protect my sister from the terrorizing people with rifles slung across their shoulders, shooting random innocent people around the neighborhood, not I'm not spared either.

The shootings came in abruptly from nowhere. It was so random, nobody expected something horrible like that would actually happened, let alone the two of us. We were eating when suddenly, out of nowhere came this gunshot sound. The target was a guy seating at the table next to mine, which he immediately collapsed, with blood oozing from his chest.

Everyone started screaming, whereas I panicked because I have no idea where to head for escape. So I grabbed my sister and we headed for the escalators, which was already too late. The terrorists combed the entire building...with people dead or injured. Women and children weren't spared either and fear was constantly building up you could feel my heart pumping in a hard, rhythmic pattern.

We went flat on the ground and started crawling, hoping nobody would notice us when someone with sharp eyesight caught us from a distance, we were called upon.

Ignoring them, we continued crawling when the kingpin was so furious, he took his subordinate's rifle and started shooting aimlessly when it actually shot me on my shoulder blade. It never felt so painful in my entire life but I still ignore them protecting my sister when another gunshot was released.

This time, I wasn't so lucky. I got shot at the head, and my life swiftly. The last thing I've heard was my sister crying...then it's over.

You know they say when one dies, they see light?

I saw THE light. This bright light that beckons me to go over, which I did and the next moment I was seated in a room with a lady who slammed a bowl of pig intestine noodles on the table and demanded me to finish it up.

I can't breathe. I was struggling and never felt so miserable in my life. I knew it's a dream but I can't seem to wake up. I keep on chanting continuously, "It's just a dream, it's just a dream, it's just a dream.." Which I then forced myself up from my sofa.

Was it just really a dream? It was surreal however at the same time a part of me just wants to believe it. It was hell scary and I still have the jitters.

If you don't read it, there's one particular entry I've got to point out by star blogger Jamie Yeo, who pointed out something that many bloggers do without realizing it.

I realized that I'm one of those who tend to make such mistakes without even realizing the outcome.

So to whoever I have hurt, I seek your forgiveness as I blog only to what I think deems right but not thinking about how you feel about the issue.

Blogging, be it a job or a passion, could be the best thing that has ever happen to you. But blogging has it's own limitations. You can't be possibly blogging about something that might hurt or stain your country, friends or families with bad reputation or bitching about your job for not being the most idealistic one you seek. If you think it's personal, choose writing a diary or would you rather hurt people or yourself in the process?

I just can't picture blogging to ruin one's life by just a simple blog entry. To one, it might be worth the effort, but to me, it's just plain dumb, don't you think?

My 2 Cents: You Got Molested, Got Flamed And Get Upset?

You got molested, why do you even bother even blogging about it? In fact, which victim who got molested blogs about her ordeal?

Amy did. Amy got molested and she blogged about her ordeal, which raised eyes of many netizens who either flamed her or gave her the courage she needs. But seriously, then again, is this a cry for sympathy or just a call for attention for other females out there touring with a group of guys?

Here's my 2 cents.

As stated on the papers, people who "flamed" her mentioned that it's a come-on sign, which I thought could be partially true. What was she wearing that night? Why travel alone with just a guy? I think pointers like this matters a lot when it comes to staying in the room with another guy whom you thought you knew him since forever. Reservation mistake? Shouldn't she be complaining to the manager? Can't the guy sleep on the ground or sofa? Why didn't she file a police report in Korea instead coming back then file one? Questions like these just make you ponder twice, don't they?

Nice, isn't good enough. It's how much you are able to trust and rely a friend. Jim, obviously, isn't the so called Mr. Nice Guy? The saying "Trust no one but yourself." works well in this situation.

I don't see why there's any reason she shouldn't be flamed. She caused an uproar, and all of these happened for a reason: She shouldn't have blogged about the incident at all and let law and justice do the job.

Why court for more trouble when it can all be handled by the law?

Amy: I don't know what's going to happen here. You stay strong and treat this incident as a lesson.

Jim: Don't think you can get away scott free. Also, Apologize for Pete's sake.

Char Siew Sou (marinated BBQ pork pastry)
Fried Wantons served with Mayonnaise

3.30pm - Fish & Co. (Suntec City)

Whenever we've got nothing to do, my friends and I will be hanging out in town's Fish & Co. junking down their cheap SGD3 chucky flavoured fries in 3 different sauces, Lemon Butter, Tartar Sauce and Chili Sauce. It was enjoyable as we munch and chat over sweet little nothings.

The restaurant is pretty accessible by car or any means of transport. One thing that pissed the hell off me was that the seatings are arranged in such a way: outdoors/ indoors; Because of my crazy ass huge family, we chose the outdoor seatings surprised to be having our dinner with flying bugs, and army of ants!!!

Sister and I were sooooo bloated, we ate as little as possible.

Here's something I always fail to understand. Why do people try so hard to be someone else and not their own?

Their interest (certain), the speech, the fashion sense (just look around everyone dresses about the same way), the way one BLOGS?!?!...

Isn't there a sense of originality in us somehow? Why we rather follow someone else rather than following our hearts?

Now you know why there's such a phrase : Monkeys See, Monkeys Do?

Oh well, if only someone could give me an answer.
