An announcement to all those concerned and other interested parties here in Angeles City. There will be a forum on Kasambahay Law this Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Robinsons Place Angeles in Balibago.

The forum will start at 10:00 a.m. and is open to the public. This is a good opportunity for everyone to fully understand the Kasambahay Law or the Domestic Workers Act.

Internationally known Yen Baet to hold first exhibit at Holy Angel

An alumnus of Holy Angel University is now an internationally known and multi-awarded photographer. She is Yen Baet and she’ll be coming home to hold her first ever exhibit at her Alma mater.

Here are the words of Mr. Tantingco as posted on his account:

Yen Baet, former Miss Holy Angel University and editor-in-chief of Angelite and Nexus, is now an internationally known and multi-awarded photographer. After holding exhibits in various parts of the world, including New York City, she is finally coming home to hold her first-ever exhibit at HAU! Proceeds from the sale of her framed photographs will go to the University's scholarship fund. Exhibit opens June 22 at 5 pm at the Don Juan Building. May 7 is Jose Abad Santos Day

May 7 is a special non-working holiday in Angeles City in celebration of the Jose Abad Santos Day.

Used to be that Jose Abad Santos Day only covers the Province of Pampanga and Angeles City, being classified as a highly urbanized city, is no longer under included under the jurisdiction of the Pampanga government.

But by virtue of the Republic Act No. 8815 which was passed in August 2000, Angeles City was also included in the commemoration of the Jose Abad Santos Day.

Here is an excerpt of R.A. 8815 posted in the official Facebook page of Angeles City Information Office.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8815

AN ACT INCLUDING THE CITY OF ANGELES IN THE COVERAGE OF THE JOSE ABAD SANTOS DAY, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED SEVENTY-FIVE FIFTY-TWO AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Section 1. Section 1 of Republic Act Numbered Seventy-Five Fifty-Two is hereby amended to read as follows:

"Section 1. May seven of every year is hereby declared as a special nonworking holiday in the Province of Pampanga and the City of Angeles to be known as the Jose Abad Santos Day."

Sec. 2. Effectivity. — This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days from its publication in the Official Gazette or in at least two (2) newspapers of national circulation.

Museo Ning Angeles 2013 Summer Activities

This summer, the Museo Ning Angeles continues in holding its annual summer activities to keep our kids busy and productive.

Kids ages 6 to 16 will definitely enjoy learning and honing their skills as Museo Ning Angeles holds Gumulis Tamu and Maglutu Kata!

Gumulis Tamu will help children develop their drawing skills in this summer art workshop will run from April 13 until May 25, 2013.

Maglutu Kata will give kids a hands-on training on home cooking. Surely, it will be one unforgettable summer for the kids. This will start on April 22 and will run until May 10, 2013.
