Remedies For Tinnitus - Tips on How to Stop the Condition
By Hiranya Singh

Tinnitus is more commonly known as the condition in which there is a ‘ringing sound’ in the ear(s). Along with a ringing sound, people suffering from this condition also report hearing other sounds like high pitched squeals, ringing bells, crickets chirping, the sound of gushing water and that of wind. Many people suffer from this condition and are always looking for remedies of tinnitus. However, although tinnitus seems to be a condition affecting several people, no definite cause has been identified. Instead, there are several probable causes for the onset of tinnitus. Regardless of the cause, tinnitus is a complicated condition to handle and can often be the cause of a lot of frustration for the sufferer. Some common remedies for tinnitus are,

Avoiding loud noises: Loud noises are very often implicated in the onset of tinnitus. A straightforward remedy for tinnitus is to avoid being near loud noises to avoid ear damage. Rock concerts, power tools, movie theatres, nightclubs etc are all high risk places for ear damage. Another remedy for tinnitus is to avoid using in-ear headphones as they transmit sound directly into the ear and can cause damage.

Regular ear clean-ups: Build up of wax can also be a cause of tinnitus. However trying to clean it at home can cause damage to the ear. A very simple remedy for tinnitus therefore, is to visit a physician to have wax cleaned.

Regulating cholesterol intake: Tinnitus has been associated with nerve damage. Cholesterol can build up in the nerves leading to the ear, leading to tinnitus. Thus, regulating intake of cholesterol rich foods is also a simple remedy for tinnitus.

Controlling medication: Aspirin (amongst other drugs) has most often been implicated in having tinnitus as a side effect, thus another important remedy for tinnitus is for the person to be aware of his/her aspirin usage and controls it.

Earplugs: Another simple and generally effective remedy for tinnitus to use ear plugs. This shuts off sound and gives the ears some much needed rest.

Mask tinnitus: People suffering from tinnitus often have a hard time when their environment is absolutely quiet. In such situations a simple and practical remedy for tinnitus is to have a sound that masks the tinnitus like a bedside clock or a radio, or even a hearing aid that generates a small sound.

Relax the nerves: Since tinnitus can be caused by nerve stimulation, another remedy for tinnitus is to avoid stimulating the nerves. Thus, avoiding caffeine and sugar loaded drinks are one way of reducing tinnitus. Also getting enough sleep is also a useful remedy for tinnitus as it helps in calming the nerves down

The above mentioned tips on how to stop the condition of tinnitus will help manage the condition better, but since it is a difficult and complex state, these are just scraping the tip of the ice berg.

Do you long for a cure to the endless ringing in your ears? Are you desperate for an effective treatment for tinnitus? Have you tried every tinnitus cure you could possibly find, but are still plagued by maddeningly ringing ears? There could be a good reason why no treatment for tinnitus has stopped the ringing for you. And knowing this reason points the way to a possible answer, a promising new tinnitus cure.

Recent research has shown that for people with long-term tinnitus problems, their ringing ears often have multiple causes. Standard treatments often don’t work for these people because those treatments target only one of the causes of the patient’s ringing ears at a time.

For example, two of the common causes of tinnitus are stress and certain antibiotics. Picture yourself as being stressed out because the new antibiotics the doctor prescribed caused a bad case of tinnitus and it is affecting your work and your relationships. You go to the doctor and complain about your ears ringing. The doctor, knowing that the antibiotic she prescribed can cause tinnitus in some people, puts you on a different antibiotic or takes you off antibiotics altogether. If all the ringing is caused by the antibiotics, this might be expected to provide a tinnitus cure. But if you are still stressed by what happened, the stress itself could be a secondary cause of your tinnitus, keeping it going after the antibiotics are done.

If you suffer from multiple causes of your tinnitus (and remember that most long-term sufferers do), then you need a comprehensive treatment that addresses all the causes, not just one. Ideally, this tinnitus cure should be all natural, and not require drugs or surgery or any of those strange noise-making gizmos. And it should work quickly to banish tinnitus so you can start living a normal life again.

Banish Tinnitus Review - Ways to Treat Stress Induced Tinnitus
By David Giles

To say that there is a lot of stress going around these days would be a vast understatement. With the onslaught of the present economic roller coaster, as well as the normal pressures of everyday life, many people are experiencing abnormally high levels of stress that can cause serious health issues. One of these health issues is Tinnitus. It has been established that stress can be a major cause of tinnitus in healthy people. For those that already suffer from the condition, it only gets worse.

Tinnitus has been described as a constant ringing in the ear when there is no external noise taking place, and it has been determined that as much as 10% of all people have some form of this condition. It gets worse at night and especially during stressful times. The noises associated with stress induced tinnitus include: ringing sounds, whistling and whooshing sounds, and the sounds of a roaring waterfall.

Negative Effects of Stress on Our Health

Stress induced tinnitus centers around the hypothalamus, a primitive part of the brain located below the third ventricle. As you probably know, our bodies depend on essential chemical balances to function normally. The hypothalamus and the organs it controls, are responsible for producing many of these chemicals.

Long periods of stress, grief or shock have a severe affect on the hypothalamus, resulting in an abnormal production of these chemicals. This creates all types of unhealthy conditions and one of these can be tinnitus.

The first step in treating stress induced tinnitus is to remove or change the conditions that are causing the stress.

The next step is to get the hypothalamus to start working properly again, thus producing those chemicals that it has not been producing, and producing them in the correct proportion.

How Can Banish Tinnitus Help?

Banish Tinnitus is an all natural approach to treating this condition. It involves a 3 step system that uses no drugs or medication. It doesn’t exhibit any side effects and has been effective in helping thousands of people deal with tinnitus.

Tinnitus (IPA pronunciation: [t?'na?t?s] or ['t?n?t?s], from the Latin word for “ringing” is the perception of sound in the human ear in the absence of corresponding external sound(s).

Tinnitus can be perceived in one or both ears or in the head. It is usually described as a ringing noise, but in some patients it takes the form of a high pitched whining, buzzing, hissing, humming, or whistling sound, or as ticking, clicking, roaring, “crickets” or “locusts”, tunes, songs, or beeping. It has also been described as a “whooshing” sound, as of wind or waves. Around 15 per cent of people experience tinnitus at some stage and it’s more likely to occur after the age of 60.

What Causes Tinnitus?

Most tinnitus comes from damage to the microscopic endings of the hearing nerve in the inner ear. The health of these nerve endings is important for acute hearing, and injury to them brings on hearing loss and often tinnitus. If you are older, advancing age is generally accompanied by a certain amount of hearing nerve impairment and tinnitus. If you are younger, exposure to loud noise is probably the leading cause of tinnitus, and often damages hearing as well.

There are many causes for “subjective tinnitus,” the noise only you can hear. Some causes are not serious (a small plug of wax in the ear canal might cause temporary tinnitus). Tinnitus can also be a symptom of stiffening of the middle ear bones (otosclerosis).

Tinnitus Symptoms

With tinnitus, you quite simply hear a noise that no one around you hears. This noise is usually a buzzing or ringing type sound, but it may be a clicking or rushing sound that goes along with your heartbeat. The sound is sometimes accompanied by hearing loss and dizziness in a type of syndrome known as Meniere disease. In addition to the noises associated with tinnitus, certain other symptoms may accompany this condition. These include:

* Dizziness

* Pain in the ear

* A sense of fullness in the ears

* Headache

How is Tinnitus Diagnosed ?

Persons with tinnitus should be seen by a physician expert in ear disease, usually an otologist or a neurotologist.

Why is my tinnitus worse at night?

During the day, the distraction of activities and the sounds around you make your tinnitus less obvious. When your surroundings are quiet, your tinnitus may seem louder and more constant. Fatigue may also make your tinnitus worse.

Is tinnitus a common problem?

Yes. Almost everyone at one time or another has experienced brief periods of mild ring or other sound in the ear. Some people have more annoying and constant types of tinnitus. One third of all adults report experiencing tinnitus at some time in their lives.

What is the treatment of tinnitus?

After a careful evaluation, your doctor may find an identifiable cause and be able to treat or make recommendations to treat the tinnitus. Once you have had a thorough evaluation, an essential part of treatment is your own understanding of the tinnitus, i.e., what has caused it, and your options for treatment.

In many cases, there is no specific treatment for tinnitus. It may simply go away on its own, or it may be a permanent disability that the patient will have to “live with.” Some otolaryngologists have recommended niacin to treat tinnitus. However, there is no scientific evidence to suggest that niacin helps reduce tinnitus, and it may cause problems with skin flushing.

We are frequently asked about a tinnitus Chinese cure that many people who suffer from ringing in the ears may have heard about. This is not unusual because many who suffer from tinnitus feel so frustrated by a lack of positive results from medical treatment and drug remedies that they turn toward such alternative approaches as Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Because of the fact that tinnitus may be a symptom caused by a variety of illnesses or disorders, any treatment that eases such illnesses or disorders may thereby bring relief for tinnitus. One aspect of Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, has been proven effective in treating the kinds of liver and kidney dysfunctions that have been known to generate tinnitus symptoms.

Herbal formulas are another important element in Chinese therapy for tinnitus, and many of them have been used effectively for more than four thousand years. One botanical ingredient Chinese herbalists use to treat tinnitus is sesame seeds, which are also said to be good for dizziness and blurred vision. Another Chinese remedy for tinnitus calls for eating sunflower seeds and ringing an herbal tea made from sunflower hulls. In the case of tinnitus caused by hypertension, the Chinese herbs San-huang-hsieh-hsin-tang, or Coptis and Rhubarb combination are sometimes prescribed.

One of the most effective Chinese medicinal herbs for tinnitus is Ginkgo biloba. It comes from one of the oldest trees on earth, but western medicine has only realized how beneficial it can be within the past 20 years. Clinical tests have proved Ginkgo biloba supports the functions of the circulatory system and improves conditions commonly associated with ageing. It has also been researched for its ability to promote good auditory system (hearing) health.

Ginkgo biloba is one of the 100% safe and effective natural ingredients in TinnaRex, an herbal formula designed to support ear health, as well as supporting the circulatory, cardiovascular and nervous systems.

TinnaRex is manufactured by Native Remedies according to the highest pharmaceutical standards using the best quality raw ingredients from nature’s medicine cabinet. TinnaRex is formulated to promote health and harmony in the ear and nervous system, keep hearing clear and support feelings of well-being, balance and harmony.

Now, A Last! Tinnitus Cure Is Discovered.

Discover the amazing simple and natural way to cure tinnitus. Enjoy once again peace, tranquillity and the heavenly sound of silence.

Tinnitus or ringing of the ears can occur at any age. The ringing or buzzing noise which may be experienced in one or both ears can be continuous or it may perhaps come and go. The exact reason of how tinnitus occurs is still not completely understood by doctors.

Around ten percent of people experience mild tinnitus and carry on with life as normal. However when some people first experience tinnitus it can be frightening and create stress and anxiety. Although it is not an illness you should see your doctor, who will clearly explain the condition to you. Just understanding more and realizing how common tinnitus is will probably put your mind at ease. Many people with tinnitus experience difficulty getting to sleep because when everything is quiet the ringing or noise in the ears seems louder and more intense which can be frustrating and cause irritability. Many find it helpful to play relaxation or meditation music quietly, to create a soothing background noise. Water features and nature sounds are also helpful. Some doctors suggest alternative and complementary treatments, also known as holistic. Holistic therapy treats the whole body and instead of alleviating the symptom it gets rid of the cause of the problem. A number of people have been fortunate enough to discover Contact Reflex Analysis and are now cured of tinnitus.

Contact Reflex Analysis is an uncomplicated, safe and natural technique of analyzing the body’s structural, physical and nutritional needs. A deficiency in any of these areas could cause or help to create an assortment of acute or chronic health problems. Contact Reflex Analysis or CRA is a means by which a health expert uses the body’s reflexes to precisely establish the source of a health problem and provides the health expert with the solution to correct it. I found a brilliant qualified CRA practitioner about eight years ago. When I met her I had been taking 300mg axid or zantac per day for seventeen years for the treatment of a duodenal ulcer and a hiatal hernia. I had been diagnosed with these conditions seventeen years previously as a result of having barium meals and camera tests in the hospital. When she tested me with CRA neither of the electrical reflexes for duodenal ulcer or hiatal hernia tripped out for me (which meant I didn’t have them) anyway to cut a long story short, I haven’t taken any medication for eight years now and I have never felt better.

I do not suffer from tinnitus but I do have to manage my frustration when I see people suffering unnecessarily because they cannot be open-minded enough to at least look into alternative choices. My sister was rushed into hospital diagnosed as having an acute gall bladder and was a week away from surgery to remove it. After much coaxing (and frustration management) I managed to have her tested with my CRA practitioner and fortunately she decided to postpone her operation for a few weeks and try the natural path with CRA. That was almost twelve months ago. My sister took some nutritional supplements and within twelve weeks she was feeling on top of the world. The doctors and nurses at the hospital were baffled when the second x-ray revealed there was no longer a problem and they now want to investigate her liver. Had they removed her gall bladder they wouldn’t have dealt with the underlying cause but CRA did.

You really do not have to suffer with tinnitus any longer, simply find a CRA qualified practitioner.

Ringing In the Ears (Tinnitus)

Damage to ultramicroscopic endings of nerves associated with hearing function due to varied reasons results in ‘Ringing in Ear’ syndrome, also known as Tinnitus.

Introduction
The word Tinnitus originates from Latin word ‘Tinnituae’ means ringing. Tinnitus, commonly known as Ringing in the Ear, basically a disorder, is characterized by sensation of noise in the human ear in the nonexistence of external sound. Though it is defined as ringing noise, it varies greatly from person to person. In some cases, it can be also heard as buzzing, humming, hissing, or beeping, whistling sound, or as ticking, roaring, and clicking noise.

It is not a disease but a causality originating from array of underlying causes like infection in ear, deposition of wax in ear or injury to tympanic membrane. Anatomically, human ear is classified further into four sections—the outer ear, the middle ear, the inner ear, and the brain. Tinnitus can happen in any of these sections. Moreover, it can arise in single or in both ears.

Some cases of Tinnitus or Ringing noise are considered as normal. For example, if we enter a sound proof cabin then most of us will experience buzzing or whistling and become aware of normal body sounds as masking effects of external sound is nonexistent in such cases. These conditions are defined as non tinnitus conditions. Thus Tinnitus is that medical term which describes severely affected cases of ear ringing in normal conditions.

Diagnosis
As Tinnitus is a subjective phenomenon, objective tests like an audiometric test fail to measure its severity. On the contrary, it is classified into different categories ranging from slight to cataclysmic, subject to practical complexity like disturbances to sleep, normal activities it imposes. The more descriptive THI (Tinnitus Handicap Inventory) is commonly used to do the research in this field. However, certain series of diagnostic tests like audiogram, ABR (Auditory Brain stem Response) are preferred to find the origin of Tinnitus or to find out whether it due to vertigo or loss of hearing. Sometimes these patterns help doctors to make the diagnosis.

Mechanism of Tinnitus
The inner ear houses minute hair like structures that vibrate with the introduction of sound waves. The receptor cells located at the base of these hairs then transmits neural signals to brain. These cells are connected via neural loop and controlled by the brain. This neural feedback loop makes selectivity to certain frequencies possible. Damage to receptor cells results in changing the parameters of loop by a continuous exposure to excessive decibel levels than the normal one and Tinnitus occurs. Thus in Tinnitus, false information is transmitted to brain causing ringing or humming noises when there is no such external sound. Recent research has classified this disorder into two- 1. Otic Tinnitus, which happens in the inner ear due to damage to nerves. 2. Somatic Tinnitus, which happens outside the inner ear.

Causes of Tinnitus
The causes are many and can be further classified as-
1. Otological causes and hearing loss - Deposition of ear wax, infection in external ear, middle ear effusion, prolonged exposure to excessive loud noise, hearing loss associated with age, certain diseases of inner ear like Meniere’s syndrome can cause Tinnitus. Certain ototoxic medications also have side effects which can lead to Tinnitus like aspirin, amino glycosides, tetracycline, bleomycin, cisplatin, furosemide etc.
2. Neurological Disorders - Head injuries, multiple sclerosis can cause Tinnitus.
3. Metabolic disorders like deficiency of Vitamin B-12, thyroid disorder can result in Tinnitus.
4. Studies have shown that Psychological Problems like over anxiety, depression can end up in Tinnitus.

Prevention of Tinnitus
Precautionary measures are most advisable in the cases of Ringing in the Ear (Tinnitus), as the persons suffering from these disorders continue to suffer throughout their life. Since, the most common cause is prolonged exposure to excessive noise; it is advisable to avoid such incidences where the possibility of loud noise is more. Earplugs can be the best means available. Again, certain medications should be closely monitored for side effects.

Treatment
Once a careful diagnosis done, Tinnitus can be treated effectively with varied treatments available, depending on the source or cause of the disorder. However a single treatment is not useful treating different types of Tinnitus.

Objective Tinnitus can be treated with surgery using Gamma rays of radiation in case of glomus jugulare tumor. In case of palatal tremor treatment is done by Botulinum toxin. In arterial anatomic variation Propranolol is used effectively.

In Subjective Tinnitus intensity of external sound is reduced by Tinnitus masking, by completely avoiding the noise, by using music therapy or using hearing aids to facilitate the lost frequencies. Electrical treatment is also used to great effect to cure certain cases of Tinnitus. In chemical therapy, stress is laid on cutting off the consumption of alcohol, caffeine, nicotine. It is further supported by Zinc supplementation, sodium fluoride, Melatonin, Chinese herbal therapy. Cognitive behavior therapy is also very useful in Psychological treatments.

Tinnitus has been perceived as a classified of chronic pain. Hence, while treating this Ringing in Ear, identification of cause is of utmost importance!

Tinnitus affects a large number of people, and this is why it is important to know what causes this annoying and sometimes debilitating ringing or buzzing sound in the ears and how to treat it.

Even though it may be disappointing to know that, at least today, there is no known cure for tinnitus, the good news is that there are treatments that are useful, especially for four of the most common kinds of tinnitus.

Yes, that is correct; there are at least four different kinds of tinnitus, based on the fact that it is caused by primarily four different sources. The main causes of tinnitus are: noise damage, trauma or stress, allergies or sinus problems and Meniere’s disease. For each of these main causes, different homeopathic treatments have been formulated.

The way that stress affects tinnitus involves a region of the brain called the hypothalamus, which produces chemicals that are necessary for the body to function the way it is supposed to do. In the case of severe stress, grief or shock, those necessary chemicals cease to be produced.

The way to treat tinnitus induced by stress is two-fold. First, the person should determine what factors are causing the stress and seek to eliminate or change them. Secondly, the hypothalamus needs to be encouraged to start working properly again. It has been found that a blend of natural ingredients serves to do that. These ingredients include Phosphoric Acid, Sublimed Sulphur, Sepia from the cuttlefish, Calcium Carbonate, Silicon Dioxide, and Phosphate of Potassium. Tablets made from this formula go by the brand name T-Gone Stress Tinnitus Remedies, and are available online at the T-Gone website.

Although it is not a fast-acting remedy, the process does work to reduce the symptoms of tinnitus caused by stress.

For more information about T-Gone Stress Tinnitus Remedies and other tinnitus treatments, visit T-Gone.com.

A lot of people have the mistaken idea that Tinnitus (pronounced TIN-it-us) is an inflammation of the inner ear, but that is not correct, despite the fact that tinnitus can be caused by an inflammation or infection inside the ear. What tinnitus actually is, then, is the sound or noise heard that is coming from inside the ear and not from the outside.

Just because the symptoms for tinnitus do not happen on a 24-hours a day, 7-days a week basis does not mean you do not have it. Some times tinnitus can start and stop on a random basis, and you never know when it might start up again.

What exactly the tinnitus symptom sounds like is not the same for every person who is suffering from it. For some people it may be described as a roaring noise while others are likely to say that it sounds like a ringing noise. But others use different terms, such as: whistling, humming, buzzing, or a sound similar to running water. In a very few, rare instances, the tinnitus symptom sounds like screeching, chirping, or — rarest of all — like music. In no cases have tinnitus patients heard voices.

There are other symptoms of tinnitus, which may include pain in the ear, a feeling of being dizzy, headaches or feeling disoriented.

Even though there is not yet any cure for tinnitus, that does not mean you have to suffer with these symptoms. A great many people are successfully treating their tinnitus with homeopathic remedies.

There are so many different factors that can cause tinnitus that its cause in any one individual may be difficult to pin down. It is hard to measure tinnitus because it is only heard by the person suffering from it. Unless you are dealing with objective tinnitus which is when the doctor can also hear the annoying buzzing or ringing sound. There are a number of tests that they can perform but your best bet is to discover what the cause of your tinnitus is then it will be easier to cure or at least help.

How long will tinnitus last?

This is variable depending on the individual, what has caused his tinnitus to be occurring, and how appropriate are the methods chosen for tinnitus treatment. For example, two individuals with symptoms that appear similar may react very differently. One may respond better to acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, while the Chinese cure may not be helpful at all to someone with, for example, pulsatile tinnitus.

The first thing to consider when diagnosed with tinnitus is whether it is subjective tinnitus or objective tinnitus. Subjective tinnitus is a much more common type of tinnitus than the objective form. Objective tinnitus only affects few people compared to subjective tinnitus. If you have a ringing, roaring, buzzing, or swooshing sound in your inner ear and your doctor cannot hear with a professional instrument then you have subjective tinnitus. If your doctor can hear the buzzing or ringing coming through his listening device then it is objective tinnitus.

Subjective tinnitus is the most common form of tinnitus and is usually the one of the two that is less serious. The most common cause of the subjective form of tinnitus is hearing loss due to the aging process. If the inner ear has had extensive exposure to loud speakers or equipment the hearing loss could set in at a younger age. The age that tinnitus usually sets in is around fifty or sixty. The age that tinnitus sets in is dependent upon the amount of trauma the inner ear has endured over the duration of your life. If the trauma to the inner ear has been extensive and in excess, then the tinnitus that accompanies hearing loss may set in at a younger age. If tinnitus does set in at a younger age there is a possibility that it could be something more serious disease.

Loud noises are a cause for a large percentage of people suffering from tinnitus. This is why it is recommended to wear earplugs while working around loud obtrusive noises, attending loud concerts, or surrounding you with other traumatic noises

Tinnitus researcher Mr. Geoff Barker has written a book, "Stop the Ringing: 11 Proven Techniques to Stop Tinnitus" which has been helpful to a large number of tinnitus sufferers. The method he teaches is how to reduce or cure tinnitus at home, in just a few minutes a day, simply and inexpensively.
