Today TREATS and the Indian Springs Winery
are teaming up for an Afternoon of Tastes.
Stop by the Indian Springs Winery Tasting Room
at 303 Broad Street from 2:00-4:00 in
Nevada City CA to pair wine with ice cream.
TREATS will have locally made
Chocolate Mousse Gelato, Pear Ginger Sorbet
and Lemon Verbena Ice cream among other
flavors for you to sample.

I have been informed by Rona Madrone ,
” the best dog in the world”, that there is
a wonderful walking tour of Nevada City
for canines. If a dog plays his/her/ owner
right there are 6 different locations in town
where dog treats are offered for free. So grab
your master and strut your paws to City Hall,
TREATS ice cream shop, JJ Jacksons, Gray Goose,
the Police Station and KVMR.

We have 7 chocolate ice cream flavors;
Chocolate Mousse Gelato ( vegan), Bittersweet Chocolate,
Swiss Orange Chocolate, Chocolate Peanut Butter,
Rocky Road, Raspberry with Chocolate Chips
and Bob’s famous Mint Chocolate Chip
These can be served drizzled with our hot fudge sauce.
We also have Chocolate Chip Cookies
( regular and Gluten free) and Chocolate Brownies
and Divinity Bars AND we serve dark rich European

Cookies for Santa Tradition

The tradition of leaving cookies for Santa
is believed to have started at the time of the
Great Depression by parents wanting to
inspire their children to share with others,
especially during a time of great need.
Now kids happily leave cookies and milk
for Santa…and often a carrot for his reindeer
knowing in the morning there will be just a few
crumbs on the plate, and an empty glass signifying
that the jolly old man enjoyed his treat!

Peppermint Stick History

This week TREATS is featuring Peppermint.
We have Peppermint Stick ice cream and
Peppermint Brownies.
The origin of the candy cane goes back over 350 years,
when candy-makers both professional and amateur
were making hard sugar sticks. The original candy
was straight and completely white in color
.Around the seventeenth century, European-Christians
began to adopt the use of Christmas trees as
part of their Christmas celebrations. They
made special decorations for their trees
from foods like cookies and sugar-stick candy.
The first historical reference to the familiar
cane shape goes back to 1670, when
the choirmaster at the Cologne Cathedral in Germany,
bent the sugar-sticks into canes to represent a shepherd’s staff.
The all-white candy canes were given out to children during
the long-winded nativity services.

is a wonderful combination of pie filling and ice cream.
Customers can order homemade Apple, Pumpkin
or Pecan Pie filling spooned inside an ice cream cone
that is then topped with a scoop of ice cream .
The best of pie and ice cream combined in a cone a la mode.
