"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" director James Gunn has revealed on social media that post-production on the highly anticipated film has officially wrapped. Gunn took to Instagram to share a photo of himself alongside the film's composer John Murphy, with the caption: "And that, as they say, is a wrap on #GotGVol3. I'm told that I'm not allowed to say anything for a while… but I will say this: the movie is a helluva lot of fun to watch, and I cannot wait for you all to see it. Thanks to my wonderful cast and crew for making it all possible. And special shoutout to John Murphy for the incredible score."

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

This news marks a major milestone for the film, which has been in the works for several years. The production was delayed after Gunn was fired by Disney in 2018 due to controversial tweets that had resurfaced. However, he was later rehired in 2019, much to the delight of fans who had praised his work on the first two "Guardians" films.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" will see the return of fan-favorite characters such as Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper), and Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel). The film will also introduce new characters, including Adam Warlock, who was teased in a post-credits scene in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."

While plot details for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" are still under wraps, Gunn has previously teased that the film will be the final installment in the trilogy and will explore the backstory of some of the characters. He has also promised that the film will have a "heartbreaking" ending.

The film is set to be released in theaters on May 5, 2023, and fans are eagerly anticipating its arrival. "Guardians of the Galaxy" has been one of the most popular franchises in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the first two films grossing a combined $1.6 billion at the worldwide box office. With Gunn back in the director's chair and the promise of a thrilling finale, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" is poised to be one of the biggest releases of 2023.

A strong tool like Google Takeout can assist you in securely backing up your vital data. You may use Google Takeout to download all your data in a single zip file whether you use Gmail, Google Drive, or any other Google service.

Google Takeout has recently emerged as a crucial investigative tool, particularly in the YS Viveka murder case, when CBI officials utilized it to gather vital information regarding the suspects' whereabouts at the time of the crime. However, what is Google Takeout and how does it operate?

What is Google Takeout?

You can download a copy of the information you have stored in Google services like Google Drive, Gmail, Google Pictures, and more with Google Takeout, a free service provided by Google. You can download all of your data with Google Takeout or just the particular info you wish to download. You can easily make a backup of your crucial data using Google Takeout, which is accessible from anywhere at any time.

What data can be backed up using Google Takeout?

Up to 51 different categories of data, including Google Drive files, emails, calendar events, contacts, Google Play Music, Google Play Books, and even YouTube videos, can be backed up with Google Takeout. The data that is accessible for download can be found by looking at your Google Dashboard. Your emails, pictures, movies, documents, and other items can all be backed up in this way.

How to use Google Takeout?

Using Google Takeout is simple and easy. Follow these steps:

1. Sign in to your Google account: Go to the Google Takeout website and sign in using your Google account credentials.

2. Choose the data to download: On the Google Takeout page, you will see a list of Google products and services that you can use to download your data. Select the services you want to backup by checking the boxes next to their names. You can also click on the "Select All" button to download all your data.

3. Customize your backup settings: Once you've selected the data to download, you can customize your backup settings by clicking on the "All data included" dropdown menu. Here you can choose the specific data categories you want to download or leave the default settings. You can also select the file type and size for your backup file.

4. Create your backup archive: After customizing your settings, click on the "Create Archive" button. Google will now start creating your backup archive, which may take some time depending on the size of your data.

5. Download your backup file: Once Google has finished creating your backup archive, you will receive an email notification. Click on the "Download" button in the email to download your backup file. Alternatively, you can also download your backup file from the Google Takeout website.

6. Store your backup file: Once you've downloaded your backup file, it's crucial to store it in a secure location. You can store it on your computer's hard drive, an external hard drive, or a cloud storage service like Google Drive.

By following these simple steps, you can easily backup your data using Google Takeout. However, it's essential to note that Google Takeout is not a replacement for a comprehensive backup strategy. It's recommended to use multiple backup solutions, such as cloud backup and physical storage devices, to ensure the safety and accessibility of your data.

Data backup and management

Data backup and management is an essential aspect of data security that every individual and business should prioritize. In today's digital age, data is everything, and losing it can have severe consequences, including financial loss, reputation damage, and legal troubles. Therefore, it is crucial to have a backup of your data, preferably in a secure and accessible location.

One of the popular tools for data backup is Google Takeout. As mentioned in the article, Google Takeout is a free service provided by Google that enables you to download a copy of the information you have stored in Google services like Gmail, Google Drive, Google Pictures, and more. With Google Takeout, you can download all your data or specific data categories, depending on your preferences.

According to Google, Takeout supports up to 50 different Google products and services, including Google Drive files, Gmail, Google Calendar events, Google Contacts, Google Play Music, Google Play Books, and even YouTube videos. Therefore, you can easily make a backup of your crucial data using Google Takeout, which is accessible from anywhere at any time.

However, it's worth noting that Google Takeout has its limitations. For instance, it only allows you to back up data that is stored in Google services. Therefore, if you have data stored on other platforms or offline, you need to find other backup solutions. Additionally, Google Takeout may not be suitable for large organizations that require more advanced data backup and management solutions.

Regarding the best practices and tips for data backup and management, experts recommend the following:

1. Develop a backup strategy: Before backing up your data, it's crucial to have a strategy that outlines the types of data to backup, backup frequency, and the backup location. This will ensure that your backup plan is comprehensive and efficient.

2. Use multiple backup solutions: Relying on a single backup solution is not advisable since it leaves you vulnerable to data loss in case of a backup failure. Therefore, it's recommended to use multiple backup solutions, such as cloud backup and physical storage devices, to minimize the risk of data loss.

3. Test your backups regularly: It's not enough to have a backup plan; you also need to test it regularly to ensure that it works correctly. Regular testing can help you identify and fix any issues before they cause data loss.

4. Secure your backups: Backups can also be vulnerable to data breaches and cyber attacks. Therefore, it's crucial to secure your backups by using encryption, password protection, and access control.

data backup and management are critical aspects of data security that should not be overlooked. Google Takeout is one of the many backup solutions available, and while it has its limitations, it can be a useful tool for individuals and small businesses. By following the best practices and tips outlined by experts, you can ensure that your data is secure and accessible in case of a data loss event.

Legal and Ethical Considerations of using Google Takeout

Certainly, it's important to consider the legal and ethical implications of using Google Takeout to backup your data. Here are some key points to keep in mind:

1. Privacy concerns: While Google Takeout is a useful tool for backing up your data, it's important to remember that it also raises privacy concerns. Before using Google Takeout, it's important to understand what data you are backing up and whether it contains any sensitive or confidential information.

2. Legal considerations: Google Takeout can be a valuable tool in legal cases, as seen in the YS Viveka murder case. However, it's crucial to use it responsibly and in compliance with legal requirements. If you plan to use Google Takeout in a legal case, it's important to consult with legal professionals to ensure that you are following the proper legal procedures and protocols.

3. Ethical considerations: It's important to use Google Takeout ethically and responsibly. This means using it only for legitimate purposes and avoiding any activities that could harm others or violate their privacy rights. For example, you should not use Google Takeout to access someone else's data without their consent or to conduct illegal activities.

4. Data protection: It's important to protect your data when using Google Takeout. This means taking steps to ensure that your backup file is stored securely and only accessible to authorized users. You should also regularly review your backup file to ensure that it does not contain any outdated or unnecessary data.

Overall, Google Takeout can be a valuable tool for backing up your data, but it's important to use it responsibly and in compliance with legal and ethical considerations. By taking the necessary precautions, you can ensure that your data remains secure and protected.

Data Privacy and Security

Here are some key best practices to keep in mind:

1. Use strong passwords: Passwords are the first line of defense when it comes to protecting your data. Make sure to use strong, unique passwords that are difficult to guess or crack. Consider using a password manager to securely store your passwords.

2. Enable two-factor authentication: Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second form of identification in addition to a password. This can help prevent unauthorized access to your account.

3. Choose reputable backup services: When choosing a backup service, it's important to do your research and choose a reputable provider with a strong track record of security and privacy. Look for providers that use encryption to protect your data both during transmission and storage.

4. Regularly backup your data: Regular backups are important to ensure that your data is always up-to-date and secure. Consider setting up automatic backups to ensure that your data is backed up on a regular basis.

5. Keep backups secure: Make sure to store your backup files in a secure location that is only accessible to authorized users. Consider using encryption to further protect your backup files.

6. Delete unnecessary data: To minimize the risk of data breaches and protect your privacy, it's important to regularly review and delete unnecessary data. This can help reduce the amount of data that needs to be backed up and decrease the risk of data breaches.

By following these best practices, you can help ensure that your data is backed up and managed securely and responsibly. Remember, data privacy and security are ongoing concerns, so it's important to regularly review and update your backup and management practices to stay ahead of potential threats.

Why is Google Takeout important?

Google Takeout is an important tool for individuals and businesses who want to keep a backup of their data. It can be particularly useful in legal cases where data stored in Google services can help in investigations. In the YS Viveka murder case, for example, the CBI officials used Google Takeout to collect crucial data that helped in identifying the whereabouts of the accused at the time of the incident.

In conclusion

Google Takeout is a powerful tool that can help you create a backup of your important data. It is easy to use, free, and can backup up to 51 types of data. THINGS NOT TO DO ON FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE

1. Do Not Provide Personal Information To Buyers

Your Safety should always be a top priority

When selling an item on Facebook Marketplace, it's important not to provide personal information, such as your home address or phone number, to potential buyers. Instead, use the messaging feature on Facebook Marketplace to communicate with buyers. This safeguards your privacy and stops any obtrusive contact or harassment.

Unless you and the buyer have decided on a meeting place and time, wait to disclose any personal information. While making a sale, it's also a good idea to let someone know where you'll be and who you'll be meeting. Always keep in mind that when selling on Facebook Marketplace, your safety comes first.

2. Do Not Accept Payment By Wire Transfer, as This is a Common SCAM Method

Always Be Cautious and protect your personal information

When selling an item on Facebook Marketplace, it's important not to accept payment by wire transfer, as this is a common scam method. In order to complete the deal, scammers may request your personal information, such as your bank account number. They may also offer to pay for the goods via wire transfer. Because the con artist can utilize your personal information to withdraw money from your account, this might be a risky situation.

Instead, use a safe payment method that doesn't require you to divulge any personal information, such cash or electronic transfer. It's preferable to reject an offer and find another buyer if a prospective buyer insists on paying by wire transfer. Always exercise caution and safeguard your personal data when selling on Facebook Marketplace.

3. Do Not Agree To Meet a Potential Buyer in a Private or Secluded Place

Your Safety Comes First

Avoid agreeing to meet a possible customer in a private or isolated location when selling something on Facebook Marketplace. You run the risk of being the victim of theft or harm in this potentially hazardous situation. Instead, pick a well-lit, open area, like a park or a coffee shop, to meet the customer. By doing this, you can increase your safety and both sides will enjoy the transaction more.

The wisest course of action is to deny the offer and find a different buyer if a prospective buyer insists on meeting in a secret or isolated location. When using Facebook Marketplace, your security should always come first, so take precautions and safeguard yourself.

4. Do Not Send Money To Someone Before Receiving the Product

Good idea to use a Reliable intermediary

When buying an item on Facebook Marketplace, it's important not to send money to someone before receiving the product. This can be a risky situation, as the seller may not actually send the item or it may not be as described. Instead, use a secure payment method, such as cash or electronic transfer, that doesn't require you to pay until you receive the product.

If you are buying an item from a seller located in a different city, it is a good idea to use a reliable broker, such as a reliable shipping company, to ensure that the product is delivered. Always be cautious and protect yourself when buying on Facebook Marketplace, and remember not to send any money until you're certain you will receive the product you're expecting.

5. Do Not Engage in Any Kind of Fraudulent Activity.

Honesty and Transparency are Key

When selling an item on Facebook Marketplace, it's important not to engage in any kind of fraudulent activity or misrepresentation of the product you're selling. This includes providing false information about the item's condition, features, or value, as well as selling counterfeit or stolen items. Engaging in fraudulent activity can damage your reputation and result in negative reviews or even legal action.

Be honest and transparent in your descriptions of the item you're selling, and provide clear and detailed photos that accurately depict its condition. If there are any flaws or damage, be sure to disclose this information in your description. Remember that building a good reputation on Facebook Marketplace is important for success, and honesty and transparency are key to building trust with potential buyers.

Bottom Line

As with any online selling platform, there are some risks associated with using Facebook Marketplace. Be aware of fraudulent scams and activities, such as fake listings or buyers trying to pressure you into making a sale quickly. Always be careful when dealing with potential buyers or sellers.

By following the 11 essential tips for staying safe on Facebook Marketplace, users can help protect themselves from online scams and fraud, which can lead to financial loss and other negative consequences. It is important to stay vigilant and take steps to safeguard personal information and transactions, especially when dealing with unknown parties.

I hope this helps you better understand the Facebook Marketplace and navigate it safely!

Poilievre hits crime and supports Alberta's concerns about federal legislation

noreply@blogger.com (Ghano Dzpro) — Thu, 16 Feb 2023 16:34:00 +0100

I do concur with Alberta's worries about Trudeau's anti-resource and anti-energy agenda. According to the Conservative leader, he has stated his desire to phase out our oilsands.

Poilievre, the Conservative leader who wants to succeed Justin Trudeau as prime minister and a former Calgary Sun paperboy who was raised in the city's deep south suburbs, is concerned about the rise in crime, the prevalence of drugs, a system that treats criminals with kid gloves, and what he perceives as the Liberal attack on the oilpatch and other industries.

Once more, the candidate for prime minister laments how "everything feels wrong in Canada today.", Communities are splintering, according to Poilievre, and this is happening all throughout the country.

In Toronto, Quebec, and Vancouver, the situation is equally terrible or even worse, He does not blame the neighborhood police, local authorities, or provincial governments.

Your eye can see where his finger is pointing. We've gone a long way since the good old days.

The Conservative leader claims that the country is more divided, the streets are more unsafe, and living expenses are exorbitant.

Poilievre mentions violent repeat offenders returning to the streets repeatedly

According to him, a "small minority of repeat offenders" who commit "one offense after another, only to be released," are mentioned.

In Vancouver, he describes how 40 offenders were detained 6,000 times in a year.

Each year, this equates to 150 arrests per person.

Now, if they had been imprisoned...

"You would have prevented the victimization of 6,000 individuals from being attacked on the street with an ice pick, set on fire, or robbed at gunpoint."

In some instances, according to Poilievre, police may detain a suspect three or four times in a single day.

He believes that bail is not granted to those who have previous convictions for violent crimes.

- Where else would this be considered a radical idea?

Then there are the medications many, many, many drugs.

According to Poilievre, Trudeau's strategy of dumping the most harmful pharmaceuticals onto our streets under the pretext of a safe supply has been a complete failure.

Giving individuals more fentanyl and heroin won't help them quit using narcotics. Treatment is what we require. Treatment centers are necessary. Very simply, Alberta has the appropriate response.

According to the leader of the Conservative party, the objective should be to "enable addicts to get detoxed, therapy, counseling, life skills, and be back on the street for a drug-free life."

Poilievre promises to "bring in a big and extremely successful drug treatment program to save the lives of our brothers, sisters, friends, and neighbors" if elected prime minister.

The leader of the Conservatives, who was raised in Calgary, is aware that he had to offer his opinion on Trudeau's just transition plans for the oilpatch before he left town.

Poilievre just had a conversation with Premier Danielle Smith. Among the subjects? ensuring public security and protecting the oil patch.

I do concur with Alberta's worries about Trudeau's anti-resource and anti-energy agenda. According to the Conservative leader, he has stated his desire to phase out our oilsands.

He wants to close entire industries that are the backbone of our country. He'll begin with oil and gas.

- Poilievre then incorporates mining, forestry, and manufacturing.

This is a purposeful radical agenda by the pricey coalition of the NDP and Justin Trudeau to shut down our resources and make us hopelessly dependent on foreign, polluting dictatorships.

How to Protect your Roblox account

noreply@blogger.com (Ghano Dzpro) — Thu, 16 Feb 2023 06:00:00 +0100

All of the online games that you can play on the site were created by Roblox users for other Roblox users. Building the greatest theme park, competing as a pro race car driver, appearing in a fashion show, becoming a superhero, or just designing a dream house and hanging out with pals are all options available to players. On all current smartphones, tablets, desktops, Xbox One, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive, Roblox is available for free download and play.

What is Roblox?

Roblox is a global platform where millions of people come together every day to dream, create, and share experiences in 3D environments created by users. The sorts of gaming available on Roblox are as varied as the developers' imaginations.

How to safeguard your account?

Roblox make every effort to make Roblox a secure and enjoyable environment for everyone. As a crucial reminder, you are one of your account's biggest deterrents to fraud and theft! Review the useful information below to see how you can help keep your account secure from any would-be thieves. Be alert, be safe, and exercise caution.

Steps to Protect your Roblox account

1. Include an email address in your profile

Adding an email address to your account is always a smart move! The advantages of adding an email address to your account include making it simpler for us to assist you in the event that you contact us, resetting your password in the event that you forget it, and maintaining account security via the 2-Step Verification (2SV) function.

2. Never divulge your username, password, cookies, 2SV codes, or backup codes to anybody

The most frequent way for players to lose their accounts is by giving out their login credentials to others or by participating in online surveys. Do not provide your login details to anyone who asks for them, and make sure to use the Report Abuse tool to report them to our moderators.

Never divulge your password, cookies from your browser, 2SV security codes, backup codes, or any other sensitive computer data. Remember that no Roblox employee will ever request any of this information from you.

Someone is merely attempting to hijack your account if they claim to know a great hack or trick but that they need specific information from you to make it work. Claims of receiving a tasty gift or free Robox in exchange for account information are one prevalent deception. Any promotions that are officially supported by Roblox will be made known via the blog, the Notifications page of your Messages section, or a banner at the top of the website.

3. Activate two-step verification (2SV)

Even if someone knows the password, they cannot access the account thanks to this feature. You can utilize the Authenticator App, Email, or Security Keys as 2SV alternatives. The Authenticator App solution is what we advise. For instructions on how to activate the functionality, see post on adding 2-step verification to your account.

4. Always exit your account after you've finished playing

Anyone using that computer and having access to your account if your account is left logged in on it. Always log out after playing, particularly if you're using a shared computer, like one at school or a friend's house.

5. Create A Unique Password

Every online account you have should have a unique password. Don't use the same password for more than one account. Make your passwords challenging to guess as well. Common passwords are simple to guess, such as pass123 or using a portion of your username.

6. Never include a different person's email address on your account

You should only have your own or a parent's email address listed as confirmed under your account page. If you enter another person's email address, they will receive the emails asking them to reset their passwords, giving them the opportunity to log into your account and lock you out.

7. Learn to Spot Phishing and Scam Websites

You should never, EVER click on any links that lead to unknown websites. Only connections to other pages on roblox.com or those listed in the Roblox Community Standards are permitted on the platform. Even if the sender of the link is someone you know, you shouldn't trust any link that contains spaces or other strange characters or that directs you to a website you are unfamiliar with.

8. Avoid Being Duped by Inexperienced Forms

Only use the login screens on the official Roblox apps or the official roblox.com website to submit your login information. If an experience requests this information for any reason, even if it appears to be a Roblox-related request, exit the game and report the abuse using the Report Abuse link on the game's description page.

9. Ask your parents before downloading any programs

Malware and keyloggers are two types of undesirable software. Never download or launch an executable file (.exe) without your parent's consent. Any program you download need to come from a reputable business. Your passwords and other personal information may be collected by malware programs.

10. Additionally, we advise looking through and deleting browser add-ons

Browser extensions should be avoided because Roblox does not produce them. There are no accessible official Roblox browser add-ons. If you decide to utilize browser extensions created by independent developers, we advise you to abide by the following rules:

Only download extensions through a known platform such as the Safari Extensions, Firefox Extensions, or the Google Chrome Store
Avoid browser extensions that not many people have installed or that do not have reviews. Read the reviews to learn about issues after installation
Carefully read the permissions that the extension requires, and do not provide or allow access to personal information, email address, or other data
When in doubt do not download the extension as it may compromise your Roblox account and expose you to other security risks

11. Never screen share your account information

When accessing account information (such as DOB, PIN, etc.) or logging in, do not share your screen or screenshots of your screen. Sharing your login credentials could result in you losing access to your account. Your login information will never be requested from a Roblox employee. If someone proposes it on Roblox, be sure to report all such attempts using the Report Abuse function.

Barbara Walters died

noreply@blogger.com (Ghano Dzpro) — Sat, 31 Dec 2022 23:48:00 +0100

Barbara Walters died at age 93

In a career notable for its length and variety, Barbara Walters pioneered as the first woman to become a TV news superstar. She was an intrepid interviewer, anchor, and program host. She died at age 93.

Friday night, ABC hacked into its broadcast to announce Walters' passing.

"She had no regrets about the way she lived. She was a pioneer for all women, not just female journalists, according to her publicist Cindi Berger, who also stated in a statement that Walters passed away quietly at her New York residence.

A spokesman for ABC only had a statement from Bob Iger, the CEO of ABC's parent company The Walt Disney Company, to offer Friday night.

In addition to being a pioneer for women in journalism, Barbara Walters was also a pioneer for journalism itself, according to Iger.

Walters was at the forefront of the movement that turned TV reporters become celebrities for nearly four decades at ABC and, before that, at NBC, thanks to her exclusive interviews with leaders, members of the aristocracy, and celebrities.

With "The View," a live ABC weekday kaffee klatsch with an all-female panel that welcomed guests ranging from world leaders to teen stars, she provided infotainment a fresh spin in the latter stages of her career. Walters regarded "The View" as the "dessert" of her career after that side project and unexpected success.

Barbara Walters founded "The View" in 1997 "to elevate women's voices," according to a statement from the program.

The statement read, "We're pleased to be a part of her legacy."

As the first female network news anchor in 1976, Walters garnered attention thanks to her jaw-dropping $1 million pay. Her perseverance was renowned as she battled for every significant "grab" in a world crowded with more and more interviewees, including female journalists hot on her heels as well as rival networks.

I never anticipated this, Barbara Walters stated in 2004 as she evaluated her achievements. "I've always envisioned myself as a television writer. I never ever imagined that I would be photographed.

She was, nevertheless, a natural on television, particularly when grilling famous people.

"I have no fear when I'm interviewing. I'm not afraid." In 2008, Barbara Walters spoke with The Associated Press.

Walters asked direct and occasionally exuberant questions in a voice that never lost the traces of her Boston accent or the substitution of Ws for Rs. Her questions were frequently sweetened by a hushed, reverent delivery.

Do you like me off-screen? When Lady Bird Johnson was asked if she was envious of her late husband's reputation as a ladies' man, she once asked actor John Wayne.

She taped her last edition of "The View" in May 2014 amid great fanfare to complete a five-decade broadcast career (although she continued to make occasional TV appearances ). A swarm of TV newswomen she had opened the way for, such as Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric, Robin Roberts, and Connie Chung, stood for a group photo during a commercial break.

Walters replied softly, "I have to remember this on the hard days. This is the best."

There were no hints of majesty at the start of her career.

In 1961, Barbara Walters, who had graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in 1943, was given a "temporary," behind-the-scenes job at "Today." After a short while, one of the eight writers on staff had what was perceived as the token female position open. After being hired, Walters started to make sporadic on-air appearances with quirky tales like "A Day in the Life of a Nun" or the struggles of a Playboy bunny. She put on bunny ears and high heels for the latter and went to work at the Playboy Club.

She was spared the moniker of "'Today' Girl," which had been given to her predecessors, as a result of her increased frequency of appearances. She had to earn her keep, however, and would occasionally sprint between interviews to act in dog food ads.

She spoke with Princess Grace of Monaco, President Richard Nixon, and Rose Kennedy for the first time following the murder of her son, Robert. She visited China with Nixon, India with Jacqueline Kennedy, and Iran to cover the shah's gala party. But she ran into trouble in 1971 when a new host, Frank McGee, took over. He insisted that she wait for him to finish asking three questions before speaking during interviews with "important persons."

Although she became famous on her own, she was already familiar with the celebrity scene as a young child. Her father was a booking agent from England who converted a former church in Boston into a nightclub. Young Barbara spent her after-hours with regulars like Joseph Kennedy and Howard Hughes when Lou Walters launched other clubs in Miami and New York.

The good times were then. However, her father's erratic financial success and failure taught her that success was never certain and that it was neither safe nor enjoyable.

She left the NBC studio, sensing more freedom and chances waiting for her outside, and set out to do additional exclusive interviews, including one with Nixon's chief of staff, H.R. Haldeman.

She was paid $700,000 year and had been given the title of "Today" co-host by 1976. However, she was dubbed "the million-dollar baby" after ABC signed her to a $5 million, five-year contract.

Reports omitted the fact that her job responsibilities would be split between ABC News and the network's entertainment division, leaving her stuck in third. Her seasoned "ABC Evening News" co-anchor Harry Reasoner, meantime, was rumored to dislike her pay and celebrity inclination.

Not merely her rocky relationship with her co-anchor was the source of Walters' issues.

On "Saturday Night Live," comedian Gilda Radner parodied her as "Baba Wawa," a rhotacistic commentator. Additionally, during Walters' conversation with Jimmy Carter, who had just been elected president, in which she advised him to "be careful with us," CBS correspondent Morley Safer openly mocked her, calling her "the first female pope greeting the new cardinal."

She subsequently remembered that it was a time when all she had worked for seemed to come to an end.

I believed everything was over and thought, "How foolish of me to have ever left NBC!"

But help came in the form of a new boss: Roone Arledge, president of ABC News, shifted her from the co-anchor position to special projects. She was successful in the meantime with her semi-annual primetime interview programs. She later co-hosted the news program "20/20" and was a frequent contributor. Her list of the "10 Most Fascinating People" from the year is a constant favorite.

By the time she left "20/20" in 2004, she had conducted over 700 interviews, with subjects ranging from Michael Jackson, Erik and Lyle Menendez, and Elton John to Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, and Moammar Gadhafi. More than 70 million people watched her two-hour interview with Monica Lewinsky in 1999, which was timed to the publication of the former intern's memoir about her relationship with President Bill Clinton.

Several years ago, Lewinsky had lunch with Walters, who, according to Lewinsky's tweet, "was of course charming, smart, and some of her questions were still her characteristic interview style."

Katharine Hepburn was a particular favorite of Walters, yet one of her most derided comments came during a 1981 conversation: "What type of a tree are you?" (Walters would subsequently counter that given the nature of their talk, the query was quite appropriate.)

Oprah Winfrey and Ringo Starr were two of the more well-known people who broke down during a Walters interview. Barbara Walters admitted to being "dreadfully sentimental" at times.

But she also garnered high acclaim for her job. For her interview with Christopher Reeve immediately after the 1995 horseback riding incident that caused him to become paralyzed, she was honored with a Peabody Award.

After a year, Walters' first union with businessman Bob Katz was dissolved. After 13 years of marriage, she and theater owner Lee Guber, with whom she had adopted a daughter, divorced. In 1990, she and producer Merv Adelson divorced after a five-year union. In her popular memoir "Audition," published in 2008, Walters revealed a "long and difficult romance" she had with married U.S. Senator Edward Brooke in the 1970s.

In May 2010, Barbara Walters set a new record for self-disclosure when she revealed on "The View" that she will have heart surgery a few days later. In a primetime show, she would highlight her successful procedure as well as that of other famous people, such as Bill Clinton and David Letterman.

Avatar 2: The Way of Water reaches $1 billion globally, at the box office

noreply@blogger.com (Ghano Dzpro) — Wed, 28 Dec 2022 21:43:00 +0100

Avatar 2: reaches $1 billion globally, at the box office

In just 14 days, "Avatar 2 The Way of Water" has surpassed $1 billion in worldwide ticket sales, making it the fastest film this year to reach the coveted box office milestone.

Only three movies that were released in 2022 were able to break the $1 billion barrier, with "Top Gun: Maverick" and "Jurassic World Dominion" topping the list (the latter of which did it in just 31 days) (which took more than four months to join the club). In contrast, nine films that were released in 2019 earned more than $1 billion globally. Since "Spider-Man: No Way Home," which took 12 days to reach the goal, in 2021, "The Way of Water" has done so more quickly. In the first two weeks of release, only six films in history have made $1 billion.

James Cameron's long-awaited "Avatar" sequel debuted in mid-December with $134 million in North America and $435 million worldwide, and it has continued to be a tremendous draw ever since. Currently, the Disney and 20th Century picture has made $1.025 billion worldwide after grossing $317.1 million in North America and $712.7 million abroad. It is now the second-highest earning film of the year and the third-highest during the epidemic era, surpassing "Jurassic World Dominion."

In order to justify its astronomical price tag, "Avatar 2" needs to continue to do well into the new year. Although many believe the threshold to profitability is likely closer to $1.5 billion, Cameron predicted that the $350 million budgeted film (not including at least $100 million in marketing expenditures) needs to produce approximately $2 billion to break even. The first of three anticipated sequels to James Cameron's fantastical series, "The Way of Water" has a lot on the line in addition to its hefty price tag.

With $2.97 billion in worldwide sales, the 2009 release of the first "Avatar" still holds the record for the highest-grossing movie ever. The sequel, which was shown on the big screen 13 years later, may struggle to reach those heights since the pandemic's effects on the worldwide box office haven't totally subsided. Russia, another sizable country, won't be able to see the movie, and China, a significant cinema market, is seeing a recurrence of the virus.

Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaa, and Sigourney Weaver, who starred in the first "Avatar" film, are back for the sequel, which follows the Sully family as they travel underwater to fend off the elements and protect the Na'vi from mankind. Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, and Jemaine Clement are additional cast members.

"Wednesday" Surprising Finale and Season 2 Ideas

noreply@blogger.com (Ghano Dzpro) — Fri, 23 Dec 2022 17:42:00 +0100

"Wednesday" Surprising Finale and Season 2 Ideas

Wednesday from Al Gough and Miller, an original Netflix comedy series, introduced the world of Wednesday to fans Adams outside of her weird and beloved family.

The popular program is the most recent in a long line of Addams Family adaptations, and it had the second-largest premiere week in the two-year history of Nielsen's weekly rankings. What makes Wednesday special, though, is that it mostly follows one family member and her existence at Nevermore Academy, a boarding school for "outcasts, freaks, and monsters" (with a helping hand, ahem, from Thing). The teenage goth superstar is caught up in a fantastical whodunnit just days after starting at her new school, one that she will spend the entire first season solving: Who is killing Nevermore pupils, and why?

By the end of the episode, Wednesday learns that Tyler (Hunter Doohan) is actually a Hyde monster that has been "activated" to kill the outcasts and is being controlled by none other than Christina Ricci's Marilyn Thornhill, a.k.a. Laurel Gates. Since Goody Addams, an ancestor of Wednesday, assassinated Joseph Crackstone in the 1600s, the Gates family has worked to eradicate the world's outcasts. In an effort to complete his work and finally purge the world of outcasts, Laurel raises Crackstone from the dead, only for an Addams to slay him once again.

Gough and Millar recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and discussed their ideas for season two, if they receive one, as well as what first drew them to the Wednesday character. In addition, the show's producers consider their experience on Smallville 21 years after its debut, what they may have done better, and whether they would wish to revive the series.

What made you want to create a show based on this character?

By Al Gough It was a character that none of us had spent a lot of time with but that we all adored. It's also a character who we were only really familiar with as a 10-, 11-, or 12-year-old who is in a family and occasionally has a humorous quip. We wondered, "What if she were a teenage girl? " because of her apparent lack of fear and her capacity to constantly be herself with something. What if you took her away from her family and placed her in boarding school, which is purportedly a new family? What would she say?

The former Adams family. How much inspiration did you take from those?

Millar, Miles We obviously wanted to pay homage to the Addams Family's legacy, and I believe that doing so was crucial and something we always, always enjoyed. We believe that it acknowledges the supporters. The show also has a nostalgic component. We may have also referred to the original Charles Addams artwork. Tim was a tremendous fan of Charles Addams growing up, so that was definitely something we discussed with him. His corpus of work is so new, incisive, subversive, morbid, and enjoyable to look at. There are production design components that we literally tore from his panels because we thought they would make for a really interesting Easter egg for viewers who are aware of them.

Compared to some of the earlier iterations, Wednesday kind of dialed into the Latin family experience. What inspired that original choice?

Gough: It appeared to be something that had been hinted at in many earlier versions, but no one had ever truly done it. We just felt that it was something that we wanted to dig into further and have as a piece of this new Wednesday and to sort of celebrate it and express that. They clearly cast Raul Julia as Gomez in the movie. That is therefore the real source of that.

What kind of thought process went into those choices?

Al and I had never performed a whodunnit, so we were quite eager to give it a try. Millar To make sure there are no loose ends when you look back on the event, it was actually much more complicated and challenging than we had imagined. There are no instances when you think, "Well, that couldn't have happened," as we like to call them in Fight Club. Undoubtedly, it was a jigsaw puzzle.

When all eight episodes were finished, we could truly make sure that all the red herrings were present, and it seemed completely mysterious. However, we didn't know it would work until a real audience saw it. As a result, solving a whodunnit can be extremely frustrating because the answer might be so clear. Then, as is frequently the case, when we cast Christina, people immediately assumed she would play the plainly evil guest star. But it's very encouraging to learn that the red herrings were effective and that people were intrigued by the mystery. That person might be the one. That person might be the one. Misdirect. Thus, for us, that is the aspect of the show that truly fulfills us. We were particularly concerned about this.

You stated that this was your first time playing whodunnit. Did any past whodunnit tales serve as a source of inspiration for you in any way?

It seems as though Agatha Christie is such an iconic author in the classic Agatha Christie mystery books, and Wednesday is also a rising crime author, says Millar. anything from Agatha Christie to Murder, She Wrote.

Gough: There were simply always enough distractions. Once you had a general understanding of the riddle and could state it in a few lines, it was then a matter of adding further layers of complexity. There were a few instances where we would go back and sort of add a few other little touches to scenes or other things to make sure that the arrows weren't suddenly pointing to one person or another. As Miles said, it's one thing to do it on the page, but once you get into the casting, and then once you're shooting it, there were times when we would go back and do that.

You said there weren't any loose ends. You might have gone that route, ahem, The White Lotus season two, as there are undoubtedly several whodunnits with loose ends. What made you decide against taking that path?

Millar: Well, I think for us, it's always about feeling like the season, since there are only eight episodes, feels like a book, so it's gratifying and complete. You want to feel content that the tale has been told after a series has come to a close. It's about closing up those loose ends so that we can really start with a brand-new mystery next season. After that, you want expectations and cliffhangers for questions for the next season.

What kind of underlying arguments were you attempting to make about Laurel Gates trying to get rid of the misfits and the magical creatures?

Gough: We believe that one of the benefits of genre is that it allows you to tell a variety of stories and touch on a variety of subjects without coming across as preachy. Obviously, the concept of outcasts being in this world and people being aware of their status as such begs the question: how were they treated? Then there is Crackstone and the history that they are familiar with, but what is the actual history? And the Gates family was actually an extension of that since they dated all the way back to Crackstone. Therefore, it was incredibly fascinating. In its most basic form, it was portraying the tale of a racist family wanting to rid their community of those who don't look like them.

The idea of all these young people having special abilities attending the same school brought to mind Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. Have you read any YA novels like that for inspiration?

Millar: We've always been fans of the genre, and Harry Potter and Percy Jackson are certainly favorites of ours, but I believe both Tim Burton and Stephen King are favorites of ours as well because Tim wasn't involved in the project when we initially started it. Both Charles Addams and the small-town setting of Stephen King felt like they were features that [we] sort of [went for], so those were basically what served as our sources of inspiration. There was no reference to Harry Potter or Percy Jackson, but as soon as you're in boarding school, the parallels start to emerge.

In the beginning, we debated if it would be funny to portray a young Wednesday Addams as the outsider in a typical high school. The family should come first, we thought, and we sort of wanted her to leave the family. The Addams Family-themed boarding was another perk that the boarding school provided.

So there you have it where did Morticia and Gomez attend school? And what is that? How do these individuals survive in the real world? As a result, it opened up and broadened the world of the Addams Family, which I believe has undoubtedly piqued people's interest. The fact that no one has really explored this aspect of the Addams Family means that we have the chance to truly develop that world in upcoming seasons, and we're thrilled to have that opportunity.

The Nevermore Academy comes to mind. Now that season one has ended, it is closed. What would happen to Wednesday, Xavier, Enid, Bianca, and the other students if there was a season two, which is extremely certain to happen?

Gough: Moving forward, we want to sort of investigate and complex all of those relationships. When they went, the school was closed, which provided us with the most opportunities for season two, and I believe that's something we're eager to investigate. For us, the focus of the production is also on the camaraderie between women, with Wednesday and Enid serving as its central figures. It has been quite satisfying that they truly resonated with viewers. We're eager to find out what Wednesday's friendship will look like now that she's put a toe into it. She almost hugged me. I believe that was her main season arc. As a result, we do that presently. Further exploring the mother-daughter bond between Wednesday and Morticia is also quite intriguing since, now that Morticia is aware of her talent, she has a general concept of how it will develop. How will their connection develop?

Al and I have always enjoyed the Addams Family and this character in particular, but we also share four children between us, so that's another factor. As a result, we absolutely drew inspiration from real life for this one, and I believe it has encouraged us to create or find a young girl character who is as uncommon, self-assured, literate, smart, odd, and unapologetic about all those things. Teen females frequently start off as ugly ducklings before developing into swans, but in this case Wednesday is fully developed.

I find this persona to be such an incredible inspirational role model. It's so uncommon to have a female teen protagonist in this role, so hearing our children and their friends talk about the program in this way has been extremely satisfying. Even though she is so gloomy, dark, goofy, and insane, it really nailed that goal in a positive way. She is actually an immensely positive force in both her world and our world. This show has actually put something extremely nice out there, which is something I really appreciate.

Wednesday dabbled in friendship. She also dabbled in romance with Tyler, and she and Xavier engaged in a game of will-they-won't-they. Some web users even express the wish that Wednesday and Enid be the final two. At any time, were you aiming for it, or did you only want to emphasize their friendship?

Millar: As Al mentioned, the show's central theme is the sisterhood. We won't disregard anything, and it goes without saying that characters occasionally come into their own, which is one of the great things we enjoy about television because it's an organic process. We have a path that leads you in unexpected directions, and we'd like to have routes along that route. We are therefore open to everything.

We want to really investigate that bond, but we won't since this is where you can sometimes get misled by fans and other things of the sort. Instead, we'll just be extremely curious to see how those characters and that friendship grow over time. Al mentioned that this bond is essential to our kind of show-related vision.

In prior Addams Family iterations, Wednesday and Morticia didn't seem to get along as much as they did in this program, if my memory serves me correctly. Why did you choose to depict their romance in that manner?

Gough: They didn't, but in the other shows she was a little girl. We have four daughters, as Miles mentioned, and we have kind of observed the development of the bond between our daughters and our wives. At some point, she does strive to separate herself from who her mother is, or who she believes her mother is, and create her own identity. And I believe that's where we actually find Morticia and Wednesday.

As someone who [thinks] everyone loves Morticia, it is obvious that Morticia is somewhat surprised by this and is unable to comprehend what is taking place. It will primarily involve Morticia coming to terms with Wednesday as who she is. She is not an exact replica of her. Thus, I anticipate that the journey will be very intriguing.

Millar: On Wednesday's side, it's astonishing that an Oscar-winning actress like Catherine Zeta-Jones was cast. She exudes such glamour, beauty, and charisma. Therefore, having someone like that as your mother throws a very large shadow. Therefore, I believe it is something Wednesday will also have to deal with. The sense that the Addams Family has for one another is, in my opinion, what makes them so wonderful.

Everyone will construct their own identities, and Wednesday finds that to be quite essential and something that is very vital to her. They are the oddest, most functional family on the globe, which is something to aspire to. So, I believe Wednesday needs to feel like she must escape the shadow Morticia creates.

How long would you like this show to run if it were up to you?

Gough: The beauty of television is that you may continue for many seasons, as we have in the past. It's also entertaining how, as you travel further, the planet and the stories gradually come into view. So, it's something we truly enjoy doing, and you also have a special bond with the audience when they become attached to these characters over a long period of time. We therefore want it to continue as long as it can.

A few weeks ago, rumors were that Jenna was awaiting the results of her COVID test while filming the famous dance scene. Why didn't they just wait for the results and let her film wait instead?

What we can say, according to Millar, is that we adhered to extremely strict COVID protocols throughout the dance. Jenna tested negative the day before, so she wasn't taken off the set until a positive test came back; she was then placed in isolation for, I believe, 10 days. It's one of those components from Chinese whispers. Every test and process were strictly followed, and there was never any talk about sacrificing those standards in order to continue recording Jenna while she was ill or injured.

The actors and crew's health and well-being were and always will be of utmost importance to us and everyone at MGM and Netflix, so if she had been, we would've closed and let her rest. The facts speak for themselves in that every protocol was followed, and the protocols were strict in that they required double-masking and PCR tests on a daily basis, so it was one of those things that basically was exaggerated in terms of a story, which we understand.

This was the longest anyone had ever spent with Wednesday, and at the moment, Smallville represented the longest anyone had ever spent with a young Clark Kent. What inspires you to write these juvenile tales about characters that the public has come to know and love through popular culture?

Gough: When I was a young child in school, there used to be these books that discussed historical figures when they were younger before they became the famous people that you know. I therefore think that getting under the hood of who these iconic characters are is important because there are so many things that are just givens, like with Clark Kent. Simply put, he is a good man. He was raised in a tiny town. When he dons his glasses, no one recognizes him. It's similar to how all of these things are taken for granted. Simply put, it seems as though everyone has heard that for a very long time and nobody has ever actually investigated it.

And I believe that Wednesday will be the same. She is a particular way. However, asking "Well, why are these people this way? What drives them? And how do you present these chapters that have never been presented before? Another factor is that, as a storyteller, you're constantly looking for a tale that hasn't been told before. And it seemed absurd that this part of Clark Kent's life had never been told in Superman, the countless comic books, or the years that had passed before Smallville. Therefore, it was fantastic for us.

Millar: Also, how can you give these recognizable figures emotional nuance? Clark Kent has always struck me as a one-note character, and Wednesday looks to be the same. He's just a little bit of a nice guy, and Wednesday is just a little bit of a snarky kid. How then, as a writer, do you take people like that, who are kind of like extremes, and make them feel human? That, in my opinion, was the real aim. The aim of any writer is to create complicated, emotionally nuanced characters that feel real and human.

When you start to construct these stories and consider how they got to be [the persons they became], that is what makes the journey so fascinating. How did Clark come to be the superhero-like person he is today, dedicated to doing good in the world? On Wednesday, we have no idea how long the trip will take. Wednesday the adult has never been seen. So that's incredibly exciting because we get to tell that tale, you know? How does she become a lady, and how do you accomplish it without losing Wednesday's character? You never want to change Wednesday too much given her capacity for change. Although you want to see her change, we will never want to change the type of person she is.

With Jericho, Wednesday had some of the small-town Americana themes from Smallville while also focusing on a distinct population. What did you bring to Wednesday that you learned from your time on Smallville?

Gough: I believe there were several factors. One of them, in my opinion, was the blending of several diverse tones. Like Smallville, you could be an action-adventure show, a family drama, a young romance, a mystery, or even an occasional horror show. As a result, I believe we really were really evolving that particular blend of tones in one night, which we then took to Wednesday and improved because, as Miles noted, she is a very different character. You always had to kind of stick to the fact that Clark is naturally good.

That program primarily dealt with superpowered puberty and aggressive parenting. The parents who discovered Clark are to thank for who Clark is today. He would have had a different upbringing if he had landed in a different cornfield and been discovered by Lionel Luthor. His abilities will always be his, but who was he going to become as a person? How could the Kents know that, too? We made the Kents younger because, in the comics, they were always depicted as grandparents, and we loved the idea of him having younger parents because they had tales.

It's a show that families watch collectively, much like Wednesday. They used to make fun of the WB's dads and daughters program. The men adore Superman, the daughters like the romance and Clark. However, it was always a co-viewing type of experience, which I don't believe can be anticipated. However, we have heard anecdotally and from Netflix that this is something else that folks experience. The whole family may watch a show together on Wednesday.

Millar: It's a tremendous privilege to produce something that families can watch together today and that there is a sense of community, sharing, and something that is relevant to everyone, which is truly such a rare thing. Adults and children can both benefit from it and enjoy it. I know that watching television as a family is quite uncommon in my home. As Al stated, I believe you can only hope for it; but, you cannot prepare for it. I believe that Smallville excels at mixing several tones, and this show adds a much more overtly humorous tone, which, in my opinion, distinguishes it from Smallville. There are similarities in terms of those characters, in terms of really fleshing them out and having them feel real. Wednesday is intrinsically humorous and very smart, so the abundance of literary references and making sure that she truly feels authentic to herself.

Gough: In the village of Smallville, Clark was the only one who truly knew the secret. It was all quite covert, even if there were others who would contract the kryptonite infection. Jericho is important to me because they are aware of the existence of the institution. These kids are aware of their abilities. Now that it's been released into the world, how will people respond to it? Thus, I believe that there is a little more emphasis on community there than in Smallville, which is primarily about Clark and his family keeping this a secret from the rest of the world.

Smallville is about a closeted youngster who is unable to communicate his secret because, as Millar says, we always perceive genre as an allegory for something extremely pertinent. Therefore, it is essentially a gay allegory for a youngster who lacks self-expression, for parents who love him dearly, and for the ultimate illegal immigrant who ends up saving the nation. He thereby assumes the role of the ideal American patriot. Therefore, those two themes run throughout Smallville, along with the appreciation of Americana.

Additionally, Wednesday is a celebration of being proud of one's differences and the various forms they can take. Everyone recognizes Wednesday as a role model. We all perceive ourselves as outsiders. She is the epitome of an outsider. She is the most outcast at a school full of misfits. So. I believe that is a concept that resonates right now in terms of a very current theme, and it is something that serves as the foundation for the series, but it is not something that is favored.

More than 20 years ago, Smallville made its debut. What springs to mind when you reflect back on your time on the show and how it affected the remainder of your career?

Millar: It was traditional network TV. The task of writing 22 episodes is one that any writer's room, showrunner, or creative would find challenging. There is a lot of tale to tell, but suffice it to say that we always sought to push the boundaries of action, visual effects, and storytelling. How does the TV show compare to a movie? It was extremely ambitious in every sense, which is why I believe that even 22 years later, we're still doing it differently but drastically differently. Eight episodes will be produced, and for each episode, four episodes of Smallville could be produced in the time it would take to produce one episode of this show. In other words, every episode of this show is like a tiny Fabergé egg that needs to feel like a really intricate movie. It's a big challenge, and both have amazing elements, but I think what I'm trying to say is that they're different beasts. The process of making a Smallville episode and a Wednesday episode are significantly different.

Gough: Similar to what Miles mentioned, Wednesday is really just chapters in a book, but Smallville, given its network television schedule, is more like a collection of short stories that you would tie together with a few mythology episodes each season. Again, you never know why a show will have such a strong emotional impact. That show debuted a month after 9/11, so it was kind of novel before that. Even the press kind of treated it as though it were doing something strange. High school Superman? After 9/11, it became kind of a comfort dish. Due to the fact that it was about Americana and Superman was well-known, it served as comfort food for the American soul. So, it has to do with good and evil. And so, in my opinion, it was just a tragedy that just so happened to be a play that debuted at the appropriate moment.

Millar: It was quite emotional, We used to receive a lot of messages from military members stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan saying that viewing the show was a highlight of their week. As a result, it was a very different era, and the show just satisfied the want for American comfort food. On TV, mac and cheese is present. It simply seemed to be what they required. This one, I believe, also came out at the perfect time. Everyone seems to feel as though it's about the outsider, perhaps because it's post-pandemic, but it's also entertaining. This is just a really great, light, spicy snack after something like Dahmer, which is a really dark place to go.

Do you have any suggestions for improvements regarding Smallville?

Gough: The Clark-Lana situation went for far too long. There had to be another event. That one seemed to get a little boring, in my opinion. After Wednesday, my younger daughter will finally resume watching Smallville; she is currently in season two. What's the matter with these two, she asks? "It was a different time," I say. Therefore, if we went back, I believe there are some things where we maybe would have been a little more daring with some of those relationships and brought them to specific heads and allowed them play out.

Millar: If we split them apart, what will we do? We were definitely careful and just extremely cognizant of the fact that we wanted to get to five seasons, and we ended up at ten. Again, as a father of girls, I believe that there are changes we would make to the female characters today. I believe Lana's agency wasn't present. She had the potential to be a much stronger person, and she frequently felt underutilized. It's a different period and era now. I believe that is something we might have done better, therefore I will check into it.

Would you ever want to revisit Smallville in some form given all the reboots and remakes that are taking place?

Gough: No, I'll be honest. They always seem to be reviving Superman, and I believe we told them that tale. I recently learned that James Gunn is scripting a new Superman film for a younger audience, and I was like, "OK." We got to make the show we wanted to make, and, to be quite honest, there wasn't a committee sitting over us telling us what we could or couldn't do, so I feel like we were very, very fortunate to do the show at the time that we did. We had Warner's Features, after all, and while they refused to grant us some characters we requested, we were still able to create the show we wanted to, one that we would not be able to do today. The canon was violated in so many ways.

The show's entire idea was non-canon, according to Millar. The notion that Lex was present when Clark arrived during the meteor shower that killed people. However, we categorically would not be permitted to create that show and make those changes today, which is a real tragedy because I think what's amazing if you look at the history of comics and these characters is that they're always evolving. All those things were entirely new and added to the mythology of Superman. They never stop moving, and the notion that you must adhere to a particular canon is actually causing ideas to become stagnant. We were still extremely fortunate to have that period when we were genuinely free to do whatever we wanted, and it was it was great and incredibly liberating. Some of it is definitely the cat cries from fandom, which people perhaps listen to too much has really, really led to self-censoring.

Terry Hall, The Specials singer dead at 63

Terry Hall, The Specials singer, dead at 63

Terry Hall, a musician who was the lead singer of The Specials and contributed to the development of some of the key post-punk British sounds, has passed away. He was 63.

After a brief illness, the band revealed late on Monday that Hall had passed away. One of the greatest singers, songwriters, and lyricists this nation has ever produced, he was referred to as "our wonderful friend, brother, and one of the most brilliant."

In the late 1970s, during a period of racial conflict, economic depression, and urban unrest, Hall joined the band that would eventually become The Specials in Coventry, an English city in the Midlands. The band rose to prominence in the anti-racist 2 Tone label ska revival movement thanks to its mix of Black and White musicians and its Jamaican-inspired look of smart suits and porkpie hats.

Their ominous Ghost Town, which depicts urban ruin, is their most well-known song in the UK. It reached the top of the charts in the summer of 1981 as police and primarily Black youth clashed in Brixton and other British cities.

While Hall's bandmate Neville Staple took the lead vocals on that song, Gangsters, Rat Race, and Too Much Too Young featured Hall prominently. They were arguably best known in North America for their cover of Dandy Livingstone's A Message To You, Rudy from the 1960s.

Before Terry Hall, Staple, and Lynval Golding departed The Specials in 1981 to establish Fun Boy Three, they had seven U.K. Top 10 songs.

Because there were seven members, you'd wander into different tiny factions, and they'd alter constantly, Hall explained the dissolution to Mojo Magazine in 2014.

Happy Boy It Ain't What You Do It's The Way That You Do It and The Tunnel of Love were two of the three British hits.

In a previous social media post on his wife's account, Staple stated that "this news has hit hard and must be tremendously hard for Terry's wife and family." "People in the music industry experience many highs and lows, but I will cherish the wonderful memories of Terry and I fronting The Specials and Fun Boy Three together and creating history. Terry Hall can relax."

Worldwide hit

When the American band was touring the UK in support of The Specials, Hall and Jane Wiedlin of The Go-Gos co-wrote the song Our Lips Are Sealed for Fun Boy Three.

The Fun Boy Three's version peaked at number 10 in the UK, while The Go-version, Go's which served as their debut song, peaked at number 20 on the Billboard pop charts in the US and at number five in Canada.

Hall was "a charming, sensitive, talented, and distinctive person," Wiedlin said.

"The song Our Lips Are Sealed, which was inspired by our incredibly brief relationship, will always link the two of us in music. I'm really sorry to hear this, "She tweeted something.

After forming The Colour field, Hall covered the 1960s song Can't Get Enough of You Baby, which garnered airplay on alternative stations in North America.

He has worked with a variety of musicians over the years, including Tricky, Damon Albarn, and DJ Mushtaq, the latter of whom produced an album with Middle Eastern influences in 2003.

Jerry Dammers, who had founded the 2-Tone label, was not a founding member when The Specials reformed in 2008. The reasons why the break happened after they had assembled for rehearsals were the subject of contradicting press statements from Hall and Dammers.

The Specials would go on a tour to celebrate their 30th anniversary in 2009, and in 2019 they would release a new album called Encore, which would become their first U.K. No. 1 record. Protest Songs 1924–2012, the follow-up, was published in 2021.

In 2019, Hall told Uncut magazine he was encouraged by the response the band has gotten since reforming. He was very honest about being kidnapped and being sexually assaulted as a young child. Even while Hall acknowledged that he had battled depression on occasion during his life, "it's been so essential for me to underline that there is a recovery, there is a route out of it," he said.

On Monday, singer-songwriter Billy Bragg also expressed his sympathy.

"The Specials were a celebration of how Caribbean immigration infused British society, but their lead singer's onstage demeanor served as a reminder that they were in the serious business of challenging how we thought of ourselves in the late 1970s. Adieu, Terry Hall "Bragg said.

Why "Wednesday" Dance Is Addictive and buzz on TikTok

Why "Wednesday" Dance Is Addictive and buzz on TikTok

Nothing that Wednesday Addams accomplishes happens by chance. She is the Addams Family member who is the most reserved and deliberate, making few superfluous facial or eye motions.

Therefore, when the generally depressed girl in the new Netflix series bearing her name became captivated by the spirit of dance at her school dance, it immediately generated buzz both online and offline.

The brief sequence, which accounts for less than three minutes of the entire series, has already established itself as "Wednesdaymost "'s recognizable scene due to how liberated our eccentric protagonist seems to feel. Her eyes reveal an uncommon, ghastly passion. Her normally attached limbs are now free to move about. There are many stiff, stilted gestures and references to earlier decades in the dance, which is undoubtedly her. Nobody could possibly confuse Wednesday's dance with the newest TikTok craze, right?

It seems like something about that strange dance unleashed something strange in each of us, and it's spread faster than a fire at Camp Chippewa. One of the streamer's most popular shows ever ("Stranger Things," who? ), clips of the choreography encouraged fans to check out the series.

More than ten years after its initial release, Lady Gaga's "Bloody Mary" returned to the charts thanks to its internet popularity, and it did so only because fan-produced TikTok, not the actual program, used it! The "Wednesday" star Jenna Ortega's revelation that she created the practice herself opened the door for new followers, including famous people, to give it a try and even incorporate elements from their own cultures.

If Wednesday Addams discovered her dance routines had entered the mainstream, she would probably be horrified. However, she might even love the fact that her dance hasn't died. What gives the "Wednesday" dance its uncanny longevity is as follows.

The scene has a unique mythology

Even though the "Wednesday" dance culture has only been around for a month, it already has a specific "mythology," according to Jenna Drenten, an associate professor of marketing at Loyola University Chicago who focuses on how TikTok users express their identities.

Additionally, Ortega has acknowledged that she is not a trained dancer, which may make her performance even more enticing to non-dancers who discovered the routine on TikTok, according to Drenten.

I'm sure that's clear, but I'm not a dancer, Ortega told NME.

However, Ortega's commitment has also sparked criticism; according to NME, she recorded parts of the dance as she awaited the results of the Covid-19 test, which ultimately came back positive. Some criticized the production for not following the correct Covid-19 prevention practices on site as a result, but "Wednesday" kept garnering attention.

According to Drenten, the trending topics that go viral and stick around in popular culture the longest frequently cross over from their original platform. Regarding the Corn Kid: He made an appearance in a YouTube series praising the praises of the corn cob. After TikTok users shared clips of his performance, he went on to promote corn offline for Chipotle, Green Giant, and the state of South Dakota.

"TikTok trends have to make that leap to a cultural trend, beyond the limits of TikTok, to have a longer shelf life," she said. "The Wednesday" dance had a benefit in this regard because it and "The Addams Family" heritage were created independently of TikTok from the beginning.

The "Wednesday" dance has evolved into a custom

The human propensity to learn a dance for social currency is another another advantage the "Wednesday" dance has over other dances. Consider dances like the "Electric Slide," "Macarena," and "Cupid Shuffle," which are common at weddings and bat mitzvahs and which many of us can execute automatically. It would appear Pavlovian to perform them in unison during such an event, but Drenten explained that it's also a shared ritual that develops "a sense of unity and belonging."

Every gesture and action, according to Drenten, enables the performer to innately convey the message, "I get it, I'm in the know, and we have this shared experience."

This contributes to the prevalence of dance moves on TikTok, including those to songs like "Renegade" and "About Damn Time" by Lizzo. The "Wednesday" dance, however, was not accompanied with a well-known song, despite the fact that The Cramps' punk anthem "Goo Goo Muck" has subsequently gained some new admirers. The maneuvers were "straightforward but unusual," according to Drenten, and were simple enough to learn.

But Lady Gaga was necessary to elevate the "Wednesday" dance to new heights. The version that has become extremely popular on TikTok is a sort of "fancam" or mashup of video, set appropriately to Gaga's "Bloody Mary," a Biblical homage to dancing without restraint. Even Mother Monster, who was decked up in two lengthy braids, gave a rendition of the "Wednesday" dance.

Since then, millions of users have given Wednesday's school dance solo its own unique spin. Some users have done this by adding Polynesian or Indian dance moves to their renditions or by creating their own Wednesday outfits (including Thing, the disembodied hand!).

Wednesday allows us to be eccentric

Being a part of something is obviously contrary to Wednesday's attitude because she has never cared about fitting in. She is completely satisfied living on her own island, where the sun never shines and there are plenty of traditional torture devices. Although Wednesday's reputation as a patron saint of weirdos may be threatened by the extent to which her eccentric actions have been imitated, this hasn't been the case for decades.

Since the late 1930s, Wednesday Addams has lived in several forms: initially as an anonymous comedy character, then as a small girl on a TV sitcom, and last, in her most well-known incarnation prior to the release of "Wednesday," as a dead-eyed Christina Ricci.

According to Drenten, Wednesday followers have been dressing up as her for years, frequently being inspired by Ricci's portrayal of the character. Her biggest fans can no longer keep the fact that she is the oldest Addams child a secret from mainstream popular culture.

She has been an eccentric figure to loners and goth-adjacents since her Wednesday debut for her unrepentant dedication to the macabre. She's still a "outlier" among fictional women and girls since she has never adapted to common plot devices, according to Emily Alford for Longreads. She won't change; she is who she is.

She brought to the screen a morbid self-acceptance that made her stand out and served as a significant model for a generation of girls who would later develop their own kind of gallows comedy, according to Alford.

And now, many of those users are meeting up on TikTok, where specialized communities can grow (or reach mainstream users). Drenten claimed that the app is a "place for people to discover who they are, and more crucially, to find other people who have their similar interests," even if those interests include dressing up like a certain apathetic adolescent.

Users of TikTok may experience pressure to act, perform, and appear a specific way because the app, in Drenten's opinion, encourages a lot of reproduction. But Wednesday serves as a reminder that it's liberating to be oneself in a sea of similarity.

Why does a Swedish zoo kill chimpanzees?

A zoo in Sweden killed 3 chimpanzees and wounded a fourth monkey with a gunshot after 5 monkeys escaped from their cages, according to Sky News Arabia.

Vorovik Zoo, 200km north of the capital Stockholm, said Thursday the situation was out of control. Annika Troselius, a spokeswoman for the park's Parks and Resorts, said: "Chimpanzees are an animal that poses many risks, as being outside the park poses a risk to people's lives."

The park's management explained that her anesthesia "was not an alternative solution, because firing an anesthetic arrow needs the person to be very close to the animal, as well as the anesthetic gives its effect after ten minutes."

The department said in a Facebook post Thursday afternoon that the four monkeys still alive were in the monkey section, but had not been returned to their cages.

What We Learned from 49ers win over Seahawks

2022 What We Learned from 49ers' win over Seahawks

The 49ers came from behind to beat the Seahawks on Sunday to clinch the NFC West. Here are some things we learned.

1- For the 49ers, who won the NFC West, Brock Purdy passes yet another test

One of the best play-callers in the NFL when in peak form is Kyle Shanahan. Purdy appears to be the real deal based on what we've observed over the last 11 days. These are not incompatible. Yes, the majority of Purdy's passes were made to wide-open receivers, but he is still accurate, even in difficult situations. That's what matters, and it's what enabled San Francisco to win the NFC West on Thursday night. Purdy got out to a fast start, completing his first 11 passes (with another erased by penalty during that streak).

The touchdown pass to George Kittle was a Purdy gem, fake two screens before launching the ball on a delay route to the waiting tight end, who completed the 28-yard score on his own. A number of Purdy's passes were intercepted in the first half, including one late in the second quarter that he threw right into the Seahawks' Quandre Diggs' chest. However, Purdy got back on course, handled a couple challenging situations (perhaps where some rookie quarterbacks could start to melt a little bit), and played another solid game overall. He has completed approximately 67% of his passes while throwing for six touchdowns and one interception through three (almost full) games.

2- Not all of the Seahawks' woes can be attributed on Geno Smith

There were many factors at play in Smith's game against the 49ers, and let's face it: These problems had been simmering for some time. Although the Seahawks' defense mostly succeeded in keeping them in the game, the offense only managed to kick two field goals. The offensive line of the Seahawks allowed nine QB hits and three sacks, which should have been more. Although he had to leave the field with a limp at one point, Kenneth Walker gave the backfield a little energy but it was obvious he wasn't totally healthy.

The mistake made by Travis Homer was fatal. DK Metcalf only made seven catches and was assessed penalties of 15 and 10 yards. Smith didn't play his best, as has been the case lately. But he was by no means the cause of Seattle's defeat. He took some direct hits on the 49ers while still trying to persuade his teammates to make a last-ditch defense, which they eventually did. You can tell how much Smith's teammates appreciate him by the way the Seahawks sideline reacted when Talanoa Hufanga of the 49ers struck Smith out of bounds. If the Seahawks want to secure a wild-card place, they now need to assist him a little bit more.

3- The 49ers see a significant improvement when George Kittle is healthy

Kittle's absence from the 49ers game in the first meeting between the two teams was fortunate for Seattle, but Thursday was his comeback. In order to help the 49ers open up the game, Kittle stung the Seahawks for two big scores of 28 and 54 yards, all of which he was wide open for. His four receptions for 93 yards at the end of the contest marked his highest yardage total since Week 7. Kittle's health is virtually always in question.

Since his undergraduate days, he has been severely beaten and plays a tough kind of football. However, Kittle is almost as excellent as any tight end in the game, possibly better than Travis Kelce, when he is available and operating at close to full capacity. Kittle is a complete player and a fantastic fit for this style because he is excellent at blocking as well. Even though Purdy does very well, the important point is that the two look excellent together and that Kittle makes the 49ers a much more dangerous squad overall.

4- The Seahawks will regret their early lost chances

Despite being outplayed early on, the Seahawks only found themselves behind 7-3 by the end of the second quarter. At that point, a nasty combination of plays made Seattle's chances of mounting a comeback even more difficult. The first was Diggs' intercepted pass that he failed to catch even though there was space for him to go for a return. The second occurred five plays later when Seahawks running back Travis Homer fumbled close to midfield. The 49ers recovered the ball and scored a touchdown after recovering the ball.

When the 49ers gained their opening possession of the second half and immediately advanced down the field with it, that loomed enormous. What might have been a tight game quickly became an 18-point deficit for the home squad. And if Deommodore Lenoir's attempted pick-six on the following series hadn't been wiped off the board, things might have been worse.

5- Calls for roughing-the-passer are still having difficulties

Tom Brady was tackled by Grady Jarrett. Derek Carr was tackled by Chris Jones. Justin Herbert was tackled by Jaelen Phillips. For extremely dubious roughing calls, everyone was eliminated. These factors played a part in this becoming a contentious topic at the most recent owners' meeting, where it was discussed whether or not roughing the passer should be subject to review. The most recent contentious incident occurred on Thursday when Geno Smith was fired by Nick Bosa. and was then assessed a 15-yard penalty for what seemed to be simple football play.

The officials' explanation that Bosa knocked Smith to the ground may be acceptable, but you could see Bosa release his left arm as he was falling. What else is there for Bosa to do in that circumstance? However, it's important to note that overall, fewer roughing calls have been made this season compared to last. In the first 208 games of this season, 72 of them were called (one every 2.9 games) through Week 14. In 278 games last season, there were 154 roughing calls in total, or one every 1.8 games. As a result, they are less common but occasionally still cause controversy, and we've had enough significant ones that the regulation may eventually alter.

Next Gen stat of the game:

On his second wide-open touchdown catch of the day on Thursday, George Kittle had 8.8 yards of separation as the pass came in on his 54-yard TD score (5-plus yards of separation). Kittle gained 23 of those yards after the catch, exceeding expectations by 11 yards. Only 14.7% of the time did the play result in a touchdown.

NFL Research:

Thursday marked Christian McCaffrey's third straight game with a touchdown, the first time he's accomplished it since his injury-shortened 2020 season, when he scored two TDs in each of his three games.

Elon Musk takes legal action Twitter account

Elon Musk takes legal action Twitter account that tracks his private jet

Elon Musk claims he is suing the owner of a Twitter account that tracks his private jet because he believes it put his son in danger.

On Wednesday, the @ElonJet account, which has more than 500,000 followers, was suspended.

Its 20-year-old owner Jack Sweeney tweeted each time Elon Musk's aircraft took off and touched down using publicly accessible flight tracking data.

Mr. Musk claims that Mr. Sweeney and others are currently the targets of legal action.

He tweeted, "Last night, crazed stalker thinking it was me followed car carrying his son lil X in LA, who later halted car from driving and climbed onto hood."

He continued, "As it is a physical safety violation, any account that discloses people's real-time locations would be suspended."

When questioned by the BBC, Mr. Sweeney disputed that the occurrence was connected to his account.

It happens after he revealed the suspension of the profile on his own Twitter account on Wednesday.

Mr. Sweeney's account appears to have been reinstated that evening. "Yes, I'm back," he tweeted. It was again classified as suspended a short while afterwards. Additionally, his personal account @JxckSweeney has been blocked.

A screenshot of a message from Twitter stating that it had performed a "careful assessment" and chosen to permanently ban the account for breaking its rules was shared by Mr. Sweeney, a college student in the state of Florida, with CNN.

The student is in control of other additional accounts that monitor the private flights of affluent Americans, including Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta.

On Wednesday afternoon, many of those accounts including one tracking planes connected to Russian President Vladimir Putin and another keeping an eye on celebrity jets appeared to have been suspended from Twitter as well.

The @ElonJet account had long been an irritant for Mr. Musk, who allegedly once paid Mr. Sweeney $5,000 to have it deleted.

Mr. Musk ultimately told Mr. Sweeney that paying to have the account closed did not feel right, according to Mr. Sweeney's statements to US media outlets.

And a month ago, Mr. Musk promised to continue operating it despite the fact that it posed a "direct personal safety risk."

Nevertheless, Mr. Musk tweeted on Wednesday night: "Any account that doxxes someone's current location will be suspended because it violates their physical safety. Links to websites that provide real-time location data are one example of this."

You may not publish or upload other people's private information without their express knowledge and approval, according to a revised media policy posted on Twitter by the Help Center.

Mr. Musk has changed Twitter's moderation procedures in a number of ways since becoming the reins of the company.

A few previously prohibited accounts have been reinstated by him, including the profile of former US President Donald Trump, which was prohibited following the uprising at the US Capitol on January 6.

According to the New York Times, the Tesla CEO has reduced Twitter's workforce and ceased paying rent for parts of the company's offices, including its San Francisco headquarters.

Investors have questioned whether his recent acquisition of Twitter has caused him to focus less on his electric vehicle company.

He sold a further 22 million shares in the company this week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for $3.58 billion (£2.9 billion).

With this sale, Mr. Musk has now sold roughly $40 billion worth of Tesla stock in the previous year.

receive a warning from YouTube if comment is offensive

noreply@blogger.com (Ghano Dzpro) — Wed, 14 Dec 2022 10:10:00 +0100

Over the past year, YouTube has been flagging offensive comments, especially those that contain hate speech. Users will receive a warning message when they post a comment that contains hate speech, or one that may be considered offensive.

Users will receive warning from YouTube if their comment is offensive

For the firm, producers, and consumers of YouTube, toxic and nasty comments have been a persistent source of frustration. The company has already made an effort to stop this by implementing tools like alerting users at the time of publishing so that they can be more thoughtful.

The streaming service is now rolling out a new tool that will more aggressively remind these people of their unpleasant comments and prompt them to take more drastic action.

According to YouTube, users whose abusive comments have been deleted for breaking the platform's guidelines will receive notification. The service will prevent a user from publishing any further comments for 24 hours if they continue to submit abusive comments after receiving the message. Prior to today's deployment, the business claimed to have tested the functionality and discovered that notifications and timeouts were a significant success.

languages supported

Only English-language comments can currently be flagged as having hostile comments, but the streaming service plans to add more languages in the future. Notably, both English and Spanish versions of the pre-posting warning are accessible.

The firm stated that its objectives were to "protect creators from users trying to harm the community through comments, as well as providing more transparency to users who may have had comments removed to policy infractions and perhaps assist them understand our Community Guidelines."

A person can provide feedback if they believe their comment was improperly removed. However, the business did not state if it would reinstate the remarks after reviewing the input.

Additionally, YouTube stated in a forum post that it has been attempting to enhance its AI-based detection systems. According to the corporation, 1.1 billion "spammy" comments were deleted in the first half of 2022. According to YouTube, the platform has improved its bot detection and removal tools for live chat videos.

Utilizing automatic detection has helped YouTube and other social networks eliminate spam and abusive content. However, to mislead the system, abusers frequently utilize various slang terms or misspell things. Additionally, it is more difficult to deter people from making hostile remarks in languages other than English.

To lessen abusive remarks on the platform, the streaming firm has recently explored a variety of methods. These testing involved presenting a user's comment history on their profile cards and by default hiding comments.

YouTube launched a tool last month that allowed creators to shield a specific user from comments. The user's harsh remarks on another video won't appear because this control covers the entire channel.

Platforms all across the world are struggling to stop the spread of offensive comments

When England footballers Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho were tormented for missing penalty kicks in last year's Euro championships, Instagram served as a breeding ground for them.

According to a recent analysis from GLAAD and Media Matters, anti-LGBTQ insults have increased sharply since Elon Musk assumed control of Twitter. The number of hostile and abusive comments continues to be a major issue, despite the fact that all of these platforms have introduced features to mute or conceal comments and restrict comments to select people.

What's the new Lensa AI photo editing app

noreply@blogger.com (Ghano Dzpro) — Tue, 13 Dec 2022 16:50:00 +0100

What's the new Lensa AI photo editing app that has gone viral among celebrities?

Many avatar images have appeared on social media that use artificial intelligence to transform users' shapes into different characters, and you may have seen one of your friends or colleagues with these images, and wondered: What do they use to turn their images into this shape?

Photo editing app Lensa AI

The Lensa AI app is used for photo editing and is seeing a huge turnout after the addition of the magical avatar feature.

Celebrities, actors and influencers from different countries of the world, interacted with the "trend" of magical images on a large scale, and posted photos on their personal pages through various social media platforms.

Prisma Labs has launched the app for Android and iOS since 2018. The new magic avatars feature works within the app itself, processing between 10 and 20 selfies using an open-source AI model, called Stable Diffusion.

To try the photos, you must download the application from the Google Play Store for Android, and from the App Store for iOS, then open it and press the yellow button entitled "Magic Avatar", then choose from 10 to 20 personal photos, then click Continue.

After selecting the images, the application asks the user to pay the necessary fees to create the magic avatars, which start from $ 3.99, depending on the required number, which comes in 3 options: 50 images, 100 images, or 200 images.

Depending on the number of images chosen, the processing begins, which takes 20 to 40 minutes.

The application provides this process through Amazon's cloud computing platform AWS. Because images are AI-processed, the process takes a long time to finish compared to the edits provided by traditional photo-editing apps.

Thanks to the magic avatars feature, last November alone, Lensa saw 1.6 million downloads.

In October, there were about 220,000 downloads, meaning the app had a 600% growth rate. And now the total number of downloads of the app has reached 20 million.

Privacy and AI software

In an effort to address privacy concerns, Prisma Labs says users' personal photos and related form are permanently deleted from its servers once magic avatars are created.

Recently, there has been a boom in AI-based services, such as the ChatGPT chatbot and the newly launched Dall-E text description image creation tool.

Argentina VS Croatia in the semifinals Qatar 2022 World Coup

noreply@blogger.com (Ghano Dzpro) — Tue, 13 Dec 2022 15:16:00 +0100

Argentina's Messi takes on Croatia's bravery in the first two semifinals of the Qatar 2022 World Coup.

On Tuesday evening, all eyes will be on Lusail Stadium, which will host the first of two semi-finals of the Qatar 2022 World Cup between Argentina, led by legend Lionel Messi, and Croatia, who are counting on veteran Luka Modric and company.

Argentina dream of reaching the final and winning the title absent from its coffers since 1986, in the last attempt of Messi, who was unable to obtain this glory despite his busy career and dozens of championships, titles and awards over nearly two decades.

Argentina vs Croatia

Argentina's start to the World Cup in Qatar was not perfect, as they suffered a major shock by losing the first group stage to Saudi Arabia 1-2, but they quickly woke up and beat Mexico and Poland to reach the final eight at the top of their group.

In the quarter-finals, the "Tango" did not find much difficulty in resolving their match with Australia and won 2-1, before going through a violent position against the Netherlands in the quarter-finals in which they needed a penalty shootout that saw goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez shine.

Croatia started their campaign in the tournament quietly, with Dalic's men qualifying in second place in Group F behind Morocco with draws with the Atlas Lions and Belgium and a victory over Canada.

In the eighth, young goalkeeper Dominik Liva Kovic emerged as champions when he starred in the penalty shootout against Japan and led his country to the semi-finals.

The same scenario of penalties was repeated in the quarter-finals, this time at the expense of Brazil in an unexpected surprise, but Liva Kovic was present again, and contributed to reaching the semi-finals.

The two teams go back to the World Cup "Russia 2018" when they faced off in the group stage, and then Croatia achieved a broad victory, as it swept the South American giant with a clean triple scored by Ante Rebic, Modric and Ivan Rakitic, and then Croatia topped the group with 9 full points, and Messi and his companions had to wait until the final round to resolve their qualification by beating Nigeria 2-1.

When Croatia reached the semi-finals in 1998 in their first World Cup participation after independence from Yugoslavia, they also passed through Argentina, but the result was then in favor of the "Albiceleste" with a goal scored by Hector Pineda in the group stage.

Messi expects a strong match and Dalic warns

"We are among the top 4 teams in the tournament, because we showed game after game that we know how to play every game with the same intensity, desire to fight and focus, we all run despite suffering and fatigue, and we do it for all those people who accompany us here," Messi said before the Croatia match.

"We expect the Croatia game to be strong, Croatia proved to be a good team by beating Brazil, and we saw that if you let it play you have very good players who keep the ball, especially in the middle of the field, it's a team that has been working for a long time with coach Dalic."

Dalic said his side hoped Argentina's misconduct in the quarter-final against the Netherlands - with 16 yellow cards and one red card - would not spoil the atmosphere in the semi-final clash.

Croatia suffered Argentina's mood swings during their 2018 World Cup group stage match, with then-Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli refusing to shake Dalic's hand.

But Dalic said he had no grudges, adding: "I understand the factors as expectations were high at the time (2018), it happened, and we will not hold any grudges in ourselves."

"I'm not angry with anyone going through an emotional state of mind, Argentina's match against the Netherlands was very difficult with so many non-football-related behaviors, I really hope that wasn't the case on Tuesday."

Launching Twitter blue badge subscription

noreply@blogger.com (Ghano Dzpro) — Mon, 12 Dec 2022 09:41:00 +0100

Launching Twitter blue badge subscription on Monday

After several delays since October by Elon Musk, Twitter announced that on Monday it will launch a new subscription system that includes blue badge verification.

Twitter Blue on the web will cost $8 per month and $11 per month for iOS devices. Subscription includes access to subscribers only features and the blue badge.

The company has made it clear that the blue badge is granted to subscribers after verifying and reviewing the account directly, and that the golden badge will be awarded to companies, and the gray badge will be granted to governmental and multilateral organizations.

Subscription benefits

To subscribe, there are benefits similar to the blue badge. The subscriber will be able to benefit from several benefits, which are:

Edit tweets
Post videos in high quality
Reading mode
Change their Twitter name or profile picture (if they do this, they will temporarily lose their blue badge until their account is reviewed again)

The decision came from company owner Elon Musk after subscribers who chose to pay $7.99 a month reported not being able to access Twitter Blue features.

The new payment system has damaged the reputation of companies and public figures after many users were able to impersonate well-known personalities. So the payment model proposed by billionaire Elon Musk has been put on hold.
