Panama spits a very impromptu freestyle for TrendSettin.com. He thought I was at Vault to interview him, because he had another interview scheduled, when I was actually there for another artist. The other artist wasn’t able to make it, so we did an interview and he blessed me with a freestyle.

Panama is an MC from Brooklyn, who’s been featured on MTV, VH1, Music Choice, ABC, BET, Yahoo!, as well as many other networks.

He also starred in HBO’s “The Wire” as Bubbles Oppressor. If you watched the show, we all remember the dude who use to mess with Bubbles. That’s Panama.

Panama will also be in a few movies coming out soon. He’s definitely somebody you need to keep an eye out for.

REACTION: “I’m a huge Eminem fan; but this song isn’t a single, it’s a typical Eminem album record. Em’s verses display his incredible delivery, but that hook is dated. That hook would’ve been hot in 2000, but not in 2010. I’m more interested in hearing the records he did with Just Blaze. I feel like the label were trying to jump on the Boi 1 Da wave, after the success of Drake’s weak single “Over”. Please stop gassing these artists and then maybe we might get some fire. Stop accepting mediocrity from great artists.”

Another video off “Lord of the Streets” Since Mafia came home, he’s put in mad work. I’m looking forward to the Digital Hustler Mixtape dropping in May. I feel like Lord of the Streets was cool, but he was still getting them jail bars off. Now that he’s got some momentum, I feel Digital Hustler is going to be even better.

Today we lost a pioneer in Hip-Hop. It’s crazy because I was only 8 when Gangstarr did “DWYCK” with Nice & Smooth, but I remember that summer clearly. I was going to Camp Cromwell with the Boys Club of New York (Pitt Street What’s Good) and this was one of those joints that we would just go crazy when it played. When you go back and listen to Gang Starr’s catalog you realize, they were the epitome of 90′s Hip-Hop. Guru fought a long hard battle against Cancer. If you know anybody who has cancer or who’s passed from cancer, you understand how serious it can be. Let’s keep Guru’s family in our prayers today.

While I was filming Common, I get a text from NYMDOT saying “I c u!! MSG Flow”. So I turn around and there NYMDOT is with Murda Mook. Small world, but in NYC, Hoops and Hip-Hop are the same thing. If you’re from NYC, you probably played basketball religiously. During that time you most likely, wrote rhymes. I know I did. I remember freestyling with Shagari Alleyne before our games sometimes. I have a video of me freestyling in a Karaoke booth in Las Vegas, with Ronald Ramon, Russell Robinson, Sundiata Gaines, and a ton of other people. Jarrell Mills, who use to play a younger Gaucho team than me, is Jae Millz brother. I can go on and on. But either way he’s a video of Common spitting off the top of the dome during halftime of the Jordan Brand Classic.

So one of my inside sources told me it’s official, Universal Music Group & Bad Boy Entertainment are currently in a bidding war to sign Fred The Godson. From what I understand is Fred is dealing directly with Shawn Prez @ Bad Boy. This should be very interesting, let’s see how this turns out!

This is the first video I’ve ever shot & edited. When I told Dutch I wanted to shoot a video, without hesitation he said let’s do it (pause). I told him to send me the joint and any input he may have for the video and he said he wanted something grimy. When I heard the joint I saw a live performance and I told him the song had too much energy to be a regular hood video. That morning I called a few clubs and rehearsal studios, to see if they would let us film that day. The only club that got back to me was Club Pyramid, home of EODub and Training Camp; but they wanted mad bread plus insurance. I thought that was crazy because I could’ve just shown up the next day and paid $10, plus Dutch New York & Pistol Da One could’ve performed, lol. Either way, I reached out to Smash Studios and they looked out. Without spending too much money, we shot a pretty dope video in their Showcase Suite, and captured the essence of not only the Stack Boys record, but the original Queen record as well.

You have companies like Atlantic Records wasting time figuring out HTML Codes and Photoshop, when they could spend that time and energy into their artists. Everybody who knows me, knows how I feel about presentation and first impressions.
