My Urban Outfitters package arrived, and I was SUPER happy!

If you know me personally then you’d know that I am easily excited, even for the mundane.

Toast and eggs for breakfast? YEAH!!! <- that's me.

Okay, but seriously, I ordered these two things and, as usual, Urban Outfitters got them here ultra fast. So, what's in the box you ask? Well, let's find out...

AREN’T THESE DOPE?! That’s a rhetorical question, but if it wasn’t the answer would be YES. I have an EXTENSIVE sneaker collection, and that is one of the reasons why I buy Vans. Vans slip ons are super comfortable and are just all-around great for beating on; this definitely saves/extends the life on my more expensive sneakers.

Anyway, Vans did a great job with these Guata Stripe slip ons. Ever since I laid eyes on them some months ago, I really wanted to buy them but I actually couldn’t find them anywhere. Recently, though, while browsing Urban Outfitters’ website, I came across them. I couldn’t bring myself to spending $72 on them after shipping and tax, so I waited. I waited, and I waited, and I waited, and guess what? They almost sold out, lol.

I ended up waiting long enough until they only had a size 9.5 and 10 left (I was surprised that these popular sizes were the last two), and I happen to be a 9.5. Also, since there were only two left, the price went down significantly.

Long story short, patience is a virtue.

Oh, yeah, I bought some $10 Blackout Wayfarers, too, but they don’t get more than a sentence of a description. lol.

If I had $570, I would definitely buy Steven Goetz’s limited watch!!

What makes a dope watch doper? Limiting it’s production to 100 pieces, that’s what!! I’ve been meaning to post about this watch for a month now. Every time I look at it, I’m at a loss for words due to it’s impeccable detail and unique design. Honestly, I wonder to myself how some of these artists/designers get inspired because I’d love to take a sip from that same fountain…

This watch is super strange! You can only tell what hour it is when it’s currently that hour. Aside from that, everything stays blurred out. The color scheme is also brilliant. The final thing that I really enjoy about this watch is that it glows in the dark. I know you’re thinking, “why the hell do I want my watch to glow in the dark, I’m not 5 years old.” Well, my answer to that is SHUT THE HELL UP!!

SUPER DOPE VIDEO: Bang, Bang, Bang. Mark Ronson x Q-Tip x Amanda Warner

Time and time again, a song will come along that you just CANNOT get out of your head. For me, it used to be Dan Black and Kid Cudi’s “Symphonies” remix, but now it’s definitely Mark Ronson, Q-Tip, and Amanda Warner’s “Bang, Bang, Bang.” There is so much going on in this superb video, and that’s probably why I love it so much…

There are four awesome things I want to address about this video:
1.) Mark Ronson‘s super watch:
I don’t know about you guys, but my watch does NOT transform me and my surroundings into a electronica party. If it did, though, it’d be the best fuggin watch EVER. Also, did you guys catch the play on Nutella during the commerical in the opening scene of the video? Gosh, Nutella is delicious…
2.) Q-Tip’s dope ass suit:
First off all, I didn’t even know Q-Tip was in this video so that was a nice surprise. Second of all his suit is NUTS. There’s something about a perfectly tailored suit makes me want to go out and tailor all of my suits; that’s if I had any, lol. The sharpness of Q-Tip’s suit is so Japanese businessman-esque.
3.) Amanda Warner’s voice:
I didn’t know who she was because I’ve never heard of/listened to MNDR, but I can say that I think she’s awesome. Anyone can deliver lyrics, but the way she does is nothing short of extraordinary! I see a future of success for her and her group mate, Peter Wade.
4.) Je te plumerai la tête:
“I shall pluck your head” is what it means! Do you guys remember the children’s song “Alouette“? Well if you don’t then I’m not really sure what kind of childhood you had, lol. Anyway, the song’s chorus was a VERY clever play off the very popular French Canadian song.

“Why would I use a Twitter??? [...] Everything that Twitter offers I need less of,” remember when Kanye had this spaz attack on his blog? Well, now he’s officially verified on Twitter since yesterday, follows no one, and has managed to accumulate 200,000+ followers. I genuinely love his hypocrisy because—like most people—Kanye is a walking contradiction. Unlike most, however, Kanye actually embraces his characteristics. This actually reminds me of one of my FAVORITE Kanye interviews with Spike Jonze…

VANS Authentic HEMP sneakers…how can you say no?

Do you guys know the history behind the hemp material? No? Well, I’ll tell you a bit. According to Wikipedia, “Hemp (from Old English hænep) is the name of the soft, durable fibre that is cultivated from plants of the Cannabis genus, cultivated for commercial use.” Cannabis genus…does that ring a bell? It should, because other species in the Cannabis genus, such as indica and sativa, are the ones responsible for producing marijuana! Awesome, huh? I know; amazing how the healing plant can also be used to make shoes, lol. Anyway, about these Vans…

Well, there’s nothing more to say besides they’re dope! I love Vans and I think it’s a great thing that they decided to incorporate hemp into one of their designs. There are other colors, too, but they suck so I didn’t bother to post them. These remind me of the NIKE DUNK LOW PREMIUM Net/Medium Brown Hemp that I bought sometime in 2006-07, if I remember correctly, and those are still one of my favorite pair of sneakers to date. Surprisingly enough, I can’t seem to find them for sale anywhere anymore—it’s almost like they never existed…

Anyway, these Hemp Vans can be had for a steal via ZAPPOS.COM and when I say a steal, I mean $46.80! Nuts…

PAC-MAN eats everything, even bottle tops…

I’m not even a drinker, but this is definitely an item I’d carry around with me. If you’ve never played Pac-Man in your life, then you’re a lame and a weirdo because this game is so OG. Anyway, this is a well designed bottle opener for you bottle loving alcoholics and old-school soda drinkers. Serious question, though…where the hell do you get Pac-Man-Ghost soda from? Because it looks fuggin’ delicious…

Ryoichi “Kodi” Kojima x Hiroshi Ono = TRIANGLE HOUSE in Japan

I really need to visit Japan. In fact, I’m planning on saving a lot of my money this upcoming year so that I’ll be able to make that trip next summer. I really think I would have a great time there; I admire the culture so much! I actually wouldn’t mind visiting the rural areas of Japan before the bigger cities. Anyway, enough about my love for the country; let’s discuss this awesome TRIANGLE HOUSE designed by Ryoichi Kojima and Hiroshi Ono…

Standing 3 stories tall in, this house sticks out like a sore thumb in the residential area of Kawasaki City, Japan. The Japanese love to build upward rather than outward to utilize space efficiently. The home is beautiful and has the most interesting window placements that also add to its uniqueness. The house boasts a perfect mixture of wood and stone, and I’m sure no one would have any quarrels with living in this house. What do you think?

HIXSEPT SHOP’s ‘IMPOSSIBLE’ t-shirt/shirt mix is amazing!

Where did I first see this shirt…? Well, I forget but I do know that I admire its design. HIXSEPT SHOP has done a great job with designing such a shirt. According to their facebook fan page, “Hixsept was born in 1999 from a fusion of the ideas of two french graffiti writters : Hëx and Hept.” This makes sense because great things are usually produced when two minds contribute, and like I always say, “life needs more contrast!” Let’s look at the shirt in more detail…

The mixture of cotton and denim is impeccable and really gives this shirt another dimension. I love when designers really pay close attention to detail and this is a great example. It looks like a very soft wash and makes me feel like I would really enjoy wearing a shirt like this; it is definitely cut for the 5’9 150 lb build like myself. A bit pricey, though, at €49.00, which translates over to about $60. 60 beans for a t-shirt? Yesss, but I can’t justify it yet with my lack of funds lol.

OFFSPRING x Vans Authentic has just made my day!

JACKPOT! I’ve been searching for better places to buy Vans aside from the dreaded mall or something similar. Seeing as how I enjoy shopping online because of the simple convenience (and the fact that I despise people…lol just kidding) I’m happy that I found out about OFFSPRING. I’m in Vans heaven—along with some other brands—and I couldn’t be any happier. Although I’m a NY’er, I love a pair of Vans like the next Californian and I’m pretty sure I’ve found my new e-shopping center. OFFSPRING is a UK based online store and sells these vans for about 38 GBP (gold British pound) which converts over to about 57 USD (U.S. dollars), and that sound about right for a pair of Vans.

Check out these cool gray/marble blue/red Vans. They’re not quite slip-ons, but who cares, right? I know I don’t and I’m contemplating buying these…oh wait, that’s right, I have no money lol. Well, in due time people, in due time!
