Hey Wellspring, I wanted to let you know that I will be on WPDE Channel 15 TODAY at noon promoting F-Series! This is great opportunity to tell the community about what God is doing at Wellspring and I feel very blessed that God opened this door.

I’d love for you to do 2 things for me today:

Watch the show! It airs live on WPDE 15 at noon today and re-airs tonight on WWMB 21 at 10:00 pm. I’d love for us to show our appreciationg by giving them a great rating.
Tell EVERYONE YOU KNOW to watch it also! They will air our F-Series commercial right before I am on and then I will have a few minutes to talk about this series. This is the PERFECT time to tell your friend, neighbor, family member or co-worker that YOUR PASTOR is going to be on TV and they should check it out. Maybe even consider DVRing the show and invite them over to watch…whatever works for you!

This is a great oppurtinity…I truly see it as a blessing from God and I ALWAYS want us to be very good stewards with God’s blessings so let’s make the most of this opportunity! Watch, tell your friends, and let’s see what God can do!

F-Series starts THIS SUNDAY

Our brand new series F-Series starts this Sunday and I couldn’t be more excited because I believe this series has the potential to be one of the most powerful, life-changing series we’ve ever done at Wellspring.

Our topic is a tough one: Forgiveness. Forgiveness is something many people struggle with…they don’t want to do it, they don’t know HOW to do it and they don’t know WHY they should do it. This series will answer ALL of those questions and more. I believe God has a revolutionary word that is going to set many, many people free on the Grand Strand.

I’ll hope you’ll join us THIS SUNDAY, I hope you will invite your friends to join us as well.

I am super-excited to announce that the brand new WellspringChurch.tv is now LIVE!

We have been working on the new site for some time and I can’t wait for you to check it out. I think you’ll find it better looking and MUCH easier to use.

Some of the features I’m most excited are:

We have a video that helps first-time guest know EXACTLY what to expect when they visit our campus
Our new sermon archive is off the hook! Every series we’ve ever done is right there…you can watch/listen, take notes and even SHARE the message with your friends
One of my favorite features is our new SHARE YOUR STORY page…it’s your place to tell us what God is doing in your life

I hope you’ll take a few minutes, visit it yourself and see all the new features. Our hope is that our website will become a tool for you to use; a tool to better CONNECT with Wellspring and better INVITE your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to discover your church.

Love Revolution Christmas Offering–UPDATE

Wellspring, you DID IT! You gave over $26,000 to our Christmas offering this year! I am so proud.

I shot a little a video to say thanks.

Because of your generosity:

4 orphanages in Haiti will have Christmas
100 Myrtle Beach Middle School kids will have the clothes they need this winter
Wellspring will be able to invite like never before in 2012!

Wellspring x 2!

Starting on January 8th, Wellspring Church is adding a 2nd service! Our new service times will be 9 am and 10:30 each Sunday.

We are making this move in RESPONSE to what God has done and in PREPARATION for what’s ahead. God has moved in mighty ways in 2011 and we are expecting nothing less in 2012. We are responding to our growth this year (we have to bring out more chairs almost every single week) and preparing for the many, many new faces that will visit Wellspring in 2012.

There are many benefits to having 2 servies and I wanted to touch on just a few right here. By adding a second service we will:

Create more room for guests to attend
Make it easier for more people to attend because they have options
Make it easier for our volunteers to SERVE more…you can now attend a service and serve EACH WEEK without ever having to miss a service
Make it easier for our volunteers to INVITE more…now you can still serve one hour and invite your friends to attend WITH YOU the other hour
Create more opportunities for more people to play their role in God’s story

We are very excited about this move for many reasons, but one of the biggest for me is that it will give more of our people a chance to serve, to get involved and play their role in God’s story.

I hope that many will see this as their chance to jump in. If you would like to help us launch this 2nd service, click here and let us know.

Love Revolution Christmas Offering

Last Sunday I announced an initiative we are launching this Christmas at Wellspring Church that we believe will allow us to touch more lives than ever before.

We are calling it the Love Revolution Christmas Offering and we believe God wants to use it expand the reach and influence of Wellspring in Myrtle Beach and around the world. We want to touch lives locally and globally as we seek to carry out our mission of seeing those far from God become passionate followers of Jesus Christ.

The offering will take place on December 18th during our morning service, but you can give RIGHT NOW. Even if you are not a part of Wellspring Church, you can still help us reach those that need Jesus. If you’ve never given to the mission of Wellspring, this is perfect way to support us. Invite Someone THIS WEEKEND

We are now 2 weeks into our series, “The Gospel,” and God has moved in amazing ways.

We’ve seen more people accept Christ over the last 2 weeks than we’ve ever seen in a 2-week period in the history of Wellspring…and there are STILL 2 weeks to go!

Now is time for you to step out and invite.
Invite that coworker that you’ve been meaning to talk to
Invite that neighbor that you see every Sunday afternoon
Invite that friend that keeps blowing off church but you KNOW they need it
Invite that family member that doesn’t see the value in “organized religion”

God changes lives…NOT US! All we are asked to do is BE OBEDIENT and INVITE people to discover Jesus…the rest is up to him.

I challenge you today to make the ask, make the invite and WATCH GOD change lives through your obedience.

#Share Your Story

As you know, The Gospel starts this Sunday.

To coincide with this awesome series, we are giving the people of Wellspring a chance to tell their stories of following Jesus. We want to hear from you, we want to know how Jesus has changed your life.

So here’s what we are going to do…starting THIS SUNDAY, we are setting up a video camera at the school to record your stories.

For our volunteers, the camera will be set up by 8:30 so you can #share your story before the Volunteer Service.
For everyone, the camera will be available starting at 9:30 until 10:00 and as long as it takes AFTER the service. We will be doing this for the next 3 weeks.

We have 3 simple questions we want EVERYONE to answer:

When did you become a Christ-follower?
How has it changed your life?
What would you to say to someone considering following Jesus?

This isn’t just for people who have become Christ-followers at Wellspring…EVERYONE that follows Christ should share their story. If you are interested, find a volunteer (anyone with a shirt on that says “The Gospel”) and they’ll take you to the camera.

I pray that you will #share your story with us. God has changed you and wants to use YOUR STORY to change others as well.

14 Years Ago Today

14 years ago today…I publicly gave my life to full-time ministry.
14 years ago today…I walked down to the front of First Baptist Church in Florence, SC, took my pastor Jimmy Harley’s hand, and accepted the call of God on my life.
14 years ago today…God changed the trajectory of my life forever.

I still remember it like it was yesterday.

It was a scary thing for a senior in high school to do. For most people, they have no idea what they are going to do with their lives and even if they think they know, it changes 4 or 5 times during or after college. But there I was, not only confident enough to say it, but saying it in front of friends, family and church members. I was putting all my chips on the table.

Here’s what you need to know: I’ve never regretted it for a second. It’s one of the top three decisions I’ve ever made in my life (the other two would be accepting Christ and marrying my wife!) Many times things haven’t made sense or I haven’t known what the next step would be, but I’ve always been confident that this was God’s idea and his call, not mine. I’m simply being obedient.

Two takeaways from this for you think about this week:

We need to do a better job of remembering the milestones in our lives. I am firm believer that we see God’s hand in the present by remembering his hand in the past. What are the spiritual milestones in your life? Are you doing a good job remembering them and learning from them? Why not?
Sometimes God calls us to make huge leaps of faith. I took a giant step as a senior in high school to publicly say that I would serve God with my life. I’ve made other steps, the most recent being moving my family to Myrtle Beach to start Wellspring. What major leap is God calling you to make right now? What is stopping you from jumping? And if God isn’t calling to take a big leap, why not? Have you asked him lately?

As we get ready to begin what I believe will be the most impactful series in the life of Wellspring Church, I thank God for deeming me and my life worthy of this call. It has been an honor to give my life to make him known…and the best is still to come!
