Veteran Bollywood actor and BJP MP Hema Malini met with a road accident when her Mercedes Benz collided with an Alto car in Dausa, Rajasthan tonight. The actor was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Jaipur with head injuries. The 66-year-old actress received a stitch on her head and was bleeding on the forehead area above the right eye. Reportedly, her condition is stable now.

Hema Malini was on her way to Jaipur from Agra when her mercedes car rammed into an Alto car near Dausa. Sadly a 4 year old child in the Alto died in the mishap, and the rest four people including two women, were injured and have been admitted to Dausa hospital. Reportedly, there were five occupants in the Alto car–2 women, 2 children and a man. The accident took place on National Highway near Dausa, post 8:30 pm, when the actresses car collided with an Alto.

The 4 year old child died on the spot, while reportedly, the mother and her brother were seriously injured. The actress suffered injuries on the forehead and a CT scan and other tests were being conducted. Her driver is said to have suffered leg injuries. Seems the actress has been shocked with the sudden mishap.

Our condolence to the family who lost their child, and a speedy recovery for Hema Maliniji.

This party is coming to an end. A combination of slowing demand, rising competition and technological change means that companies will hire far fewer people. And this is not a temporary blip- this is the new normal. Wipro’s CEO has bravely admitted that automation can displace a third of all jobs within three years while Infosys CEO Sikka aims to increase revenue per employee by 50%. Even NASSCOM, the chronically optimistic industry association, admits that companies will hire far fewer people. Not only will the lines of new graduate waiting for job offers grow rapidly longer every year, but so too will the lines of the newly unemployed as all companies focus more on utilization, employee productivity and performance. Employees doing tasks that can be automated, the armies of middle managers who supervise them and all those with mediocre performance reviews and without hot skills are living on borrowed time.

So what do you do if you are a member of these endangered species? What constitutes good career advice in these times? I’d say that the first thing is to embrace reality and recognize that the game has changed for good. The worst thing to do is be wishful and wait for the good times to return. They won’t. But there’re still lots of opportunities. What’s happening in the industry is ‘creative destruction”. New technologies are destroying old jobs but creating many new ones. There is an insatiable demand for developers of mobile and web applications. For data engineers and scientists. For cyber security expertise. So for anyone who is a quick learner, anyone with real expertise, there will be abundant opportunities.
There has also never been a better time for anyone with an iota of entrepreneurial instinct. India is still a supply constrained economy and so there is room to start every kind of business: beauty parlour, bakery, catering, car-washing, mobile/electronics repair, laundry, housekeeping, tailoring. For entrepreneurs with a social conscience, there is a massive need for social enterprises that deliver affordable healthcare, education and financial services. Not only are there abundant opportunities but startups are “in” and there is no shame at all in failure. The ranks of Angel investors is swelling and it has never been so easy to get funded. There is even a website www.deasra.in that provides step by step instructions to would-be entrepreneurs.

For those who prefer a good old-fashioned job, there are abundant jobs in old economy companies which are struggling to find every kind of talent- accountants, manufacturing and service engineers, salesreps. Technology is enabling the emergence of new ‘sharing services” such as Uber or Ola that enable lucrative self-employment; it is not uncommon to find cab drivers who make 30-40,000 rupees/month.

My main point should be clear. While India may have a big challenge overall in creating enough jobs for its youthful population, at the individual level, there is no shortage of opportunities. The most important thing is a positive attitude. The IT boom was a tide that lifted all boats- even the most mediocre ones. However, this has bred an entitlement mentality and a lot of mediocrity. To prosper in the new world, two things will really matter. The first is the right attitude. This means a hunger to succeed. Being proactive in seeking opportunities not waiting either till you are fired or for something to drop into your lap . A willingness to take risks and the tenacity to work hard and make something a success. Humility. Frugality. The second is the ability to try and learn new things. The rate of change in our world is astonishing; whatever skills we have will largely be irrelevant in a decade. People are also living much longer. So the ability to learn new things, develop new competencies and periodically reinvent ourselves is a crucial one. Sadly too many of us have no curiosity and no interest in reading nor learning. The future will not be kind to such people.

Sunny Leone's 'Mastizaade' In Trouble With Censor Board

Sunny Leone starrer 'Mastizaade' is facing trouble from the Central Board Of Film Certification, commonly known as the Censor Board. Starring Leone along with Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das, the film has apparently been rejected by the first two committees of the board, the Examining Committee and the Revising Committee.

It will now be seen by the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT), the last step before which a film is considered 'rejected' by the board.

'Mastizaade' is an adult comedy and the directorial debut of Milap Zaveri, who has previously written films such as 'Grand Masti' and 'Ek Villain'. It has been produced by Pritish Nandy and Rangita Pritish Nandy. Leone, a former adult star, plays the saucily named 'Laila Lele' and has previously been quoted as saying that this is her biggest movie so far.

Reportedly the film is loaded with sexual innuendo and the content of the film hasn't gone down well with the authorities. Here is the teaser of the film:

Google's New Project Soli Is Mind Blowing - See It In Action

Google is living in the future right now. They're in the middle of developing a new interaction sensor using radar technology that can track movement with crazy accuracy. It's only the size of a small computer chip and can be inserted into everyday objects and things we use daily. What is Project Soli?

Project Soli is a sensor that can easily be used in even the smallest wearables. It is capable of accurately detecting your hand movements in real-time, meaning it's a lot like Leap Motion and other gesture-tracking controllers. But instead of using cameras, Project Soli uses radar technology that fits within a tiny chip.

Google ATAP has basically realised that our hands are the best way to interact with devices. We have such fine control with our fingers; just think about how fast and seamlessly yours can transition from, let's say, typing on a keyboard to untangling a bunch of wires. Project Soli wants to apply that capability to gesture control.

Project Soli's founder, Ivan Poupyrev, demoed the sensor on Friday. Because Project Soli can recognise fine gestures, rather than the large ones needed by most other motion-based controller systems, it will be able to replace all current interfaces and allow you to gesture-control wearables without ever touching a display.

How will Project Soli change the way we use wearables?

Well, Project Soli has the potential to change the way we use all devices - not just wearables. Wearables are probably the most obvious and natural place to apply the technology first, because those types of devices usually have such small displays (and there's is an obvious need for richer, more functional input options on them).

The Apple Watch, for instance, has the physical Digital Crown that provides users with additional ways to navigate Apple's Watch OS. But Project Soli makes that approach seem archaic. A smartwatch with Project Soli wouldn't need a digital crown, because you could just wave your fingers in the air to get things done.

You could mimick turning down a volume dialer to turn down the volume. You could mimick pressing a button to turn something on or off. You could mimick turning a page to flip through an eBook. The possibilities are endless.

Is Project Soli ready for developers?

Google ATAP plans to release an API for Project Soli to developers at some point, so that they'll be able to build applications and hardware that can take advantage of the technology. Keep in mind Project Soli only just unveiled.

Everything is new still, but the idea is getting everyone at Google I/O excited.

Not surprised by French Open defeat, will return stronger, says Nadal

Dethroned five-time French Open defending champion Rafael Nadal admitted he wasn't surprised by his three-set French Open quarter-final rout by long-time rival Novak Djokovic, but vowed to target a 10th title in 2016.

Nadal marked his 29th birthday by losing 7-5, 6-3, 6-1 in his 44th meeting with world number one Djokovic to suffer what was only his second loss in 72 Paris matches over the last decade.

"It's not a big surprise after a year where I didn't win enough," said Nadal, who came into Roland Garros without a European clay-court title for the first time in 10 years. "It's something that could happen. When you saw the draw, a possible quarter-final against Novak this early. But it's simple -- when the opponent plays better than you and is in better shape, then this can happen. It happened, so I have to congratulate him."
Nadal's only defeat in Paris before Wednesday was in 2009, when he was blasted off the court by big-hitting Robin Soderling of Sweden.

For Djokovic, it was his first win over Nadal at Roland Garros in seven meetings and avenged losses in the 2012 and 2014 finals. It edged him closer to a first French Open title which would make him just the eighth man to complete the career Grand Slam of all four majors.

A win on Sunday, should he get that far, would also put him halfway to a calendar Grand Slam which has only ever been achieved by two men -- Don Budge (1938) and Rod Laver (1962 and 1969).

But as Djokovic looks ahead to his date with destiny, Nadal insisted he would be back next year attempting to win a 10th French Open.

"I lost here in 2009, I lost in 2015. It's not the end. I hope to be back next year with another chance," said Nadal, who is also set to slip out of the world top 10 for the first time since April 2005.

On Wednesday's evidence, a 10th title may be hard to achieve.

Nadal faced 18 break points against Djokovic and was out-gunned with his 16 winners put into the shade by the Serb's 45.

"The only thing I know is that I won nine times. I don't know if I am going to win 10, but nine I already won," said 14-time major winner Nadal. "I am going to come back next year, I will try and be competitive, try to be better prepared and try to arrive with confidence. I have been very successful here for nine of 11 years. Everybody loses in every place. That day arrived for me today."

"I always accept defeats -- one thing for sure is there is only one sure thing. I need to work harder and come back stronger."

However, with Roger Federer also going out in the quarter-finals, there was a feeling in Paris late Wednesday that part of a golden era has come to an end.

Great Canadian Summer Festivals to Enjoy in 2015

Summertime is festival time in North America, especially in Canada, where a variety of lively, festive events draw huge audiences every year, both locally and from the U.S. and other countries.
In fact, there are many more festivals held annually in Canada than many people realize, ranging from popular cultural and musical performances to food and sporting events attended by thousands, varied enough to suit almost any interest.

Here is a list of some of the top annual Canadian festivals that are perennially popular broken them down by region.

Atlantic Canada Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador

Canada’s birthday celebration, Canada Day, takes place on July 1 so why not celebrate it in the country’s birthplace, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island? The Atlantic Superstore Festival of Light takes place in Charlottetown during the three days leading up to July 1. A carnival midway with buskers from around the world, and concerts by rock bands at night, lead up to the laser show and fireworks display over the harbor on July 1. You can also enjoy the wide-ranging Charlottetown Festival (June 8–August 29).

The Halifax Pride Parade (July 25) is part of Halifax Pride Week (July 16–26). You’ll also find a mixed bag of music, storytelling, rowing regattas and street buskers in Newfoundland at St. John’s Time (June 30–August 9). Also of note are Le Festival Acadien de Caraquet (August 1–15) and Lamèque International Baroque Music Festival (July 23–25), both in New Brunswick, and The Tuckamore Festival in St. John’s, Newfoundland (August 8–23).

Québec and Ontario
The Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto, ON (August 21–September 7) is summer’s must-go-to event while the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (which opened May 1 and continues to October 18) stretches the season with numerous productions, ranging from Sound of Music to Hamlet. In Montréal you can enjoy Les FrancoFolies de Montréal (June 11–20), a huge outdoor music festival featuring 1,000 artists from a dozen countries, and the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal (June 26–July 5).

Toronto also hosts a jazz festival, the TD Toronto Jazz Festival (June 18–29) and the gay festival Pride Toronto (June 19–8), capping it off with its celebrated Toronto International Film Festival (September 10–20). Ottawa gets into the musical act with the RBC Royal Bank Ottawa Bluesfest (July 8–19).

If you want to stretch the summer season you may want to visit the pretty historic village of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada, only 20 minutes North of Niagara Falls, which is home to the Shaw Festival (April 8–November 1) that annually presents an eclectic array of comedies, dramas and classics.

The Prairies

Saskatchewan and Manitoba
There’s plenty happening in Saskatchewan and Manitoba during the summer months ranging from Fringe to Shakespeare. The SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival (June 25–July 5) kicks off the season, followed by Dauphin’s Countryfest (June 25–28) in Manitoba. July 8 sees the curtain raised on the Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan (July 8–August 23), this year presenting Much Ado About Nothing and Othello, followed by the Winnipeg Folk Festival (July 9–12), the same dates as the Craven Country Jamboree in Saskatchewan. They’re followed by the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival (July 15–26). In Regina enjoy dance, food at the cultural festival Mosaic (June 4–6).

Mountains and West

Alberta and British Columbia
Further west in Alberta you can mingle with cowboys at Alberta’s Calgary Stampede, the famous annual western-Canadian classic (July 3–12). Hang around a few weeks longer for the Edmonton Folk Music Festival (August 6–9) and the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival (August 14–24), or travel westward to get your dose of Shakespeare at the Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival in Vancouver, BC (June 4 – September 26). This year they’ll be presenting The Comedy of Errors, King Lear, Love’s Labour’s Lost and Shakespeare’s Rebel.

Vancouver also hosts the Vancouver Pride Parade & Festival (August 2) and two music festivals, the Vancouver Folk Music Festival (July 17–19) and MusicFest Vancouver (August 5–11) while nearby Victoria hosts the TD Victoria International JazzFest (June 19–28) and the Victoria Fringe Theatre Festival (August 27–September 6).

Alberta’s Banff Summer Arts Festival offers dance, opera, orchestral music, jazz and string quartet competitions, literary and visual arts, Aboriginal arts, and film (June 1–August31). If you’re visiting Victoria you can also watch the 90 teams that compete in the annual Victoria Dragon Boat Festival (August 14-16), which takes place in the city’s inner harbor.

Canada’s North

Nunavut, Yukon and the Northwest Territories
If you’re hardy, up north celebrate the longest day of the year, and National Aboriginal Day, at the Summer Solstice Festival (June 21) at Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories, or race a mountain bike through the night – no headlight required – at 24 Hours of Light, a mountain-bike festival in Whitehorse, in the Yukon (June 27–28).

If you’re in a less energetic mood you might enjoy the Alianait Arts Festival in Nunavut (June 26–July 1). Or visit the Northwest Territories for the Great Northern Arts Festival (July 17–26) and Folk on The Rocks (July 17–19).

All admirers of the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan are in for a little disappointment. The actor was recently asked on Twitter, what would be his next movie and SRK replied that he will next be seen in Rohit Shetty's Dilwale opposite Kajol, which is slated to release on Christmas this year.

Fan is a Yashraj Films movie which was due to come out in August initially but then was delayed to September 2015 due to VFX issues. Now the news is that it will eventually release in the early months of 2016. Shah Rukh also has one more film, Raees coming out next year. It will be a double celebration next year but as for 2015, we will have to wait till the end of the year to watch our favourite King Khan on the silver screen.

Trisha Takes Up A Bold Role In Her Next Film!

Director Pandian who once directed Arun Vijay's Priyam in the year 1996 is back in Kollywood to helm a women based film featuring Trisha, Oviya and Poonam Bajwa in lead roles. Having named his film Bhogi, Pandian has clarified that the film is about three girls who try to bury their past in order to create themselves a new lease of life and hence the title.

"Not very long ago, an incident near Chennai shook the whole of Tamil Nadu. This film is based on that true event which victimized three young women", the director has said in an interview. According to him, Trisha plays the character of a bold girl who takes the initiative and convinces the other two girls to join her in the fight in order to seek justice for themselves.

While Trisha's character is named Indhu, Oviya and Poonam play the roles of Subha and Soniya respectively, according to filmmaker Pandian. "Most of the sequences has been shot already. Currently we are waiting for the authority's permission to shoot an important scene near Chennai airport. We will start our next schedule there once we get the green signal", he has added. Apart from the three leading ladies, Samuthirakani and Thambi Ramaiah are roped in to play important roles. The film is expected to hit the big screen later this year. Meanwhile Trisha, who is keeping herself busy post her break up is currently working in a Telugu flick and two Tamil films namely, Aranmanai 2 and Thoonga Vanam. Her films Bhooloham and Appa Takkaru, both featuring Jayam Ravi are yet to be released.
