Trinity Travels – University of Windsor

Trinity was in Windsor, ON last week visiting students at the University of Windsor in the Drama in Education and Community Program. This is a four-year honours degree program which provides students with drama and theatre techniques that enable the to work with diverse groups.

While Trinity was there, we facilitated a workshop for the students and explored future partnership opportunities. Thanks for having us!

On Feb.23^rd the Trinity Peer Leader Council facilitated the first of three Capacity Cafés at North Albion CI and it was a huge success! Thanks to the peer leaders, parents, teachers and students who came out and shared your experiences and questions.

In the Capacity Café, Trinity Peer Leaders facilitated a talking circle, where parents and teachers could ask students questions about anything they wanted to know about students/teenagers. The night proved to be extremely rewarding as both young and old shared their wisdom relating to their experiences. We are looking forward to having similarly insightful experiences at Marc Garneau on Tuesday April 3^rd @ 6:30pm and Lester B. Pearson on Wednesday April 18^th @ 7pm. Hope to see you there!

New Justice Canada Grant

Trinity Recently received a grant from Justice Canada for the project “We’re Here Now: Peer Leadership in Ethno-cultural Communities”

We will be working in four high schools and their surrounding communities – North Albion CI, Lester B. Pearson CI, Marc Garneau CI and Northview Heights. Peer leaders will be trained to interact and mentor justice involved youth.

A special note of thanks for her help and guidance goes to our Youth Justice Fund Program Officer, Gail McQuaid-Bohemier.

We’ve just created a new games section on our website. Try out our Trinity version of Jeopardy & Who Wants to be a Millionaire created by West Hill Peer Leaders Chantelle & Brandon Bharat when they were in high school back in ’08. Check it out and see how much you know about drug awareness.
