As part of my attempt to have fun this summer and not become overwhelmed with September's holidays, I undertook a major preparation, preserving and packing campaign. I wrote out a month full of menus for July. I cooked a month's worth of rice and quinoa. I soaked and sprouted a month's worth of beans. Yesterday started the 2010 Spring Polaroid week over on Flickr. Its a lot of fun if you are a Polaroid photographer or just like to see some interesting shots.


Its amazing to me what a huge following Polaroid (and all instant film) has. It isn't just a cult following saying, "hey, this is cool. Let's take some pictures of people who come to the house," kind of thing. I'm a firm believer in the idea that you can teach everything through the Torah and by keeping your eyes open you can find lessons everyday for your children. It was a wonderful trip and we only covered about 25% of the grounds and didn't really stop and enjoy quite a bit. As I go through the photos I took there, I find myself wanting to go back. I probably should have sprung for the membership.


We were greeted by a peacock in the parking lot. Aba and I get one show for the week. The girls get a half-hour show each day. That is what I'd like to maintain after the week is over.

Every year we participate in both the spring and fall and things go well. Then we slowly slip back into old habits. Bad habits. The price is almost half what we paid for Tierra Miguel (we do get a bit less, but mostly it is the large assortment of greens that is missing) and similar pricing and quantity as the California CSA. Other than being a bit busy and cool it was lovely. We didn't get to ride a couple rides because the lines were too long so Aba has said he will go mid-week once more before his pass expires.
