The Florida native recorded 19 receptions on 340 yards, including two touchdowns this last season. Nelson had his breakout performance against Oregon, racking in 162 yards with a touchdown on six receptions.

Though Curtis McNeal was talented, too, one man alone could not lead the rushing attack in a running backs corp lacking depth. The Trojans were better off with Silas Redd than without him.

With McNeal graduating, Redd is the clear favorite as the starter in 2013. Competition never hurts, however, and it’s nice to have some depth. It’s up to DJ Morgan, Buck Allen, and incoming freshmen Justin Davis and Ty Isaac to back him up when he needs the rest.
