??‍Been reflecting a lot lately on this whole social media business thing and if the success is really worth it. I sometimes wonder, quoting @coldplay here “am i part of the cure, or am I part of the disease “ (as I see the pros in making a positive difference and the terrible cons of social media and it’s effects on people and our youth long term ? ie @thesocialdilemma ).

As our movement is growing and I find more success, I am assessing where I want to take things now and long term to ensure I am practicing what I preach and being “tru” to me and my original mission and goals! It’s so important to reflect along your path, to make sure you are on track. The hard part? Taking out ego and listening to the voice within.

Whatever your path i can tell you one thing trubeautys… following your bliss will always take you in the right direction! So today… I head to the beach? for a mental, spiritual, emotional wellness day to be in nature, follow my own bliss, and reflect (a place I’ve been a bit too busy for lately focusing on our growing business). My Fitness | Weight-Loss Routine

I eat 2 of my egg white bites as a healthy mid-morning snack (after breakfast/before lunch) per day religiously M-Sat (Sunday is my “Free Day!”). Below is my SUPER EASY RECIPE + BENEFITS!

RECIPE

*put ingredients in cupcake pan in this chronological order. See my longer IGTV video for details:

1. Olive Oil

?*I use glass spray olive oil dispenser with no added chemicals you can buy from my @amazon eStore via link in my @trubeautyMOVEMENT Instagram bio.

2. Veggies + Cheese

I use chopped kale, red pepper, Fat Free Feta Cheese for added protein + calcium while keeping calories low)

3. Sea Salt + Pepper

I do fresh ground pepper.

4. Egg Whites

In Carton For Ease.

5. Cupcake Pan

From @target

6. Oven

335 degrees / 60 min

7. Serve!

*Take out of oven, let sit for 5-10 min. Remove with spatula. Place 2 on a plate then add Sea Salt + Pepper on top + Ketchup on the side!

8. Store Extras In Fridge

Hey trubeautys!

Big Life Chapter Update—We met Melissa’s first EVER teacher for the first time at “school orientation” covid style… aka a 1-1 with her new teacher wearing masks lol. This was a big deal, since she is 4 years old and has never been in any kind of school before.  We intentionally chose to have her home due to me having the flexibility to work from home and be more involved and us having a full-time Nanny who is fantastic and there when I’m working in the home office and focusing on house stuff, who used to be a preschool teacher herself!  We’ve been extremely happy with our set-up and will do the same for Samantha, but also knew Melissa needed to have the social outlet and be in school to prep her properly for Kindergarten.  Originally she was supposed to start school back in September, but with our big move to our new house, the uncertainty of the pandemic, PLUS the adjustment of going from one to two kids we decided it was too much change at once for her (and us) and to hold off.  So now, after the busy holidays and being in our new home about 4 months, we decided the new year was the perfect time to start!

After meeting her teacher who seems fantastic and getting a closer look at the classroom, Collin & I took Meliss for a special “Mommy & Daddy Daughter Day” all about her! We went to Michaels for arts and crafts (& playroom organizational carts for mama for the new house ? lol), grabbed fro yo, then shopped at Target ? to pick out any new Disney Princess outfit of her choice (she chose Elsa ll). It was a special day spending quality time w/ our little shining star! My baby girl is such a big girl now!!???

After our fun day, we went home and washed her new Elsa dress (see the pic of her waiting in front of the washing machine lol).  Later, Collin and I realized that this was the first time we have spent a whole day with Melissa alone since her baby sister, Samantha Alanna, was born!  How crazy is that?!  By no means was that intentional; 2020 was just such a crazy year with the pandemic, transitional to two kiddos and buying and selling our house that so many routines and things were thrown off (like our weekly date nights), because simple things like having Grandma and Grandpa over to babysit were just not feasible at the time.  I’m sure MANY of you can relate.

Considering all we’ve done and all the amazing yet big changes, Melissa has truly handled it all like a champ and deserve a lot of credit (I know many grown adults would be freaking out about that much change at once lol).  Melissa loves being a big sis and handles sharing the attention very well. She’s definitely earned her new Elsa dress and more! I’m a proud mama really enjoying this chapter with both our girls and can’t wait to share more as we transition into 2021 creating greatness together! Cheers to facing change and the unknown with courage, a positive outlook, and confidence!

Today’s fall festive Post is a super easy DIY you can do to take any of your brighter orange Halloween, Thanksgiving, or fall front door welcome mat (or really any decor for that matter) and customize it making it go from bright, warm tones to cool, trendy, muted tones in minutes!

A little background here… As you all know we moved to our brand new house & changed all the floors to my dream grey wood floors!! Part of my dream interior design, has always been to decorate for holidays in more muted tones that reflect my personal style (just check out my Pinterest page and see my “Holiday” board to see my style and the looks that inspire me)!

So, as I shopped for silver, white, seashell, and white pumpkin decor that could be used and transitioned for both Halloween and Thanksgiving, I was thrilled to see my look come together via Home Goods, Target, Michaels etc! That is, except for the front door mat. ? ? Every welcome mat I found either wasn’t my style (ie i didn’t like the message it had on it) or it was my style, but was black and bright orange! Enter—creativity 101!

I had recently purchased chalk board markers from Amazon (you know, those markers that look like chalk when they dry but are way more readable than the real deal). As I stood in Target looking at my “Hello Gourd-geous!” ideal fall mat, I thought, “I wonder if I can just paint the bright orange pumpkin white with those markers to make it all flow?” I figured why not try and hey if it works I can share with my followers! Guess what… it worked!! Like flawlessly! The whole look came together for a classy, beachy chic, cool tone fall vibe for both holidays and I have the easiest steps ever below from you to follow to do on your own this year or pin this and save for inspo for your decor next year! *I’ve added the chalk markers from Amazon to my Amazon eStore for ease FYI.

What You Need To Transform Your Welcome Mat in 15-20 min!

So, today is an exciting post, because it is the beginning of many posts sharing all that I’ve been up to in my #Girlboss manifesting mode!! As you probably noticed, I have been a bit MIA on social, because we have been so incredibly busy with exciting new updates in our lives as we take action to create the beginning of new chapters for our family!

To name a few, besides the addition of our daughter, Samantha Alanna, who is now seven months old and transitioning to two kiddos; my husband and his team moved to a bigger office building, which I interior designed; then we sold our house in ONE DAY with seven offers, more than half well above asking;? plus, we bought a brand new house then completely redesigned it changing all the floors, paint, ceiling fans, lighting fixtures, hardware… you name it, to make it our dream house!

To kick off all these updates, today’s post I am sharing the amazing transformation of my husbands office! We knocked out walls, changed the paint, added his custom logo design in the frosted glass (which was clear glass before) for added privacy and branding. I had so much fun designing the space with new art, furniture, and accessories to make the space feel professional, tranquil, and chic!

The “before” picture shows the neon green paint and the incredible transformation!! Unfortunately, this is the only before photo I have of the space before, which we got from the real estate agent who sold us the space, but it will give you an idea of how much the space has changed and all of our hard work paying off!

I am so incredibly proud of my husband and all of his success in running his business with his amazing team!! They deserve this beautiful, upgraded space to be productive and work with their incredible clients. I absolutely love interior design and the creative process bringing positive energy, creativity, beauty, flow, plus feng shui to the space to continue to attract abundance, freedom, focus, creativity, success, fulfillment and flow for all employees, clients, and of course to our home and family as a whole! I loved being able to support my husband in this way and feel apart of this big transition in a deeper way!

Hey trubeautys!

Today I’m so excited to FINALLY be sharing Melissa’s 4th “Socially Distanced” birthday party with you all! I say “finally,” because with us buying a new house, putting in new floors, painting, adding lighting fixtures, moving, PLUS (fewf!) me interior designing Collin’s new office, oh yeah, and juggling 2 young kids… it’s been, how shall I put it—nuts! ? …But, in the best possible way, because we are upleveling towards big goals we’ve been working hard towards & manifesting for years!

My parents actually flew out from Park City, Utah (my hometown) last month in August for Melissa’s birthday party (you may have seen some snaps of her actual birthday on insta, but this was her party). I took so many cute pictures and haven’t even had a moment to share them. The moment I finally sit down at night, I’m either tackling my crazy moving to-do list or fall asleep almost instantly lol!

With all this crazy pandemic stuff going on, I wanted to make her birthday special, because we usually host a really fun pool party at our country club and go all-out with themed everything, from decor to cupcakes to guest goodie bags, with friends, family, and my parents always fly out! This year, we decided to do family only, plus keep the party outside by our own swimming pool. It felt a bit lame when I first started planning; I wanted to make it as special as previous years!

I did my usual and asked Melissa to choose her ideal theme and she chose “Disney Princesses” of course (we are DEFINITELY in the Disney Princess stage and I’m LOVING it as a girlie girl mama myself)! So I bought every Disney Princess themed thing I could think of… plates, napkins, cake, balloons, signage, presents, digital invite… you name it! Check, check, check, check! Since my parents were traveling and we hadn’t seen any family for awhile, we decided to have everyone wear masks and of course let people know they could take off while eating, being outside, in the pool, etc. (just aim to keep that 6 foot distance).

It was all planned, but something was missing. ? I even splurged and got her a giant Pottery Barn Kids dollhouse and all the (ahem, expensive) accessories she could want for our new playroom. I figured, new house decor and birthday present in one, haha, since Pottery Barns toys are so beautiful. But, I needed something spectacular!

Then, I remembered connecting with Madison, owner of Sky Princess Parties (@SkyPrincessParties_ ) on Instagram! “Yes! That’s it,” I thought. Madison is a mom herself and the founder; she started her company where she dresses up as every kind of Disney Princess you can dream of and makes a personal or virtual appearance making any occasion so special! She literally knows every detail there is to know about each Disney character so she is believable, because let’s face it—kids these days are smart! What’s amazing is that near or far Madison serves all of Snohomish County, WA in-person PLUS, anyone in the world Virtually!

For Melissa, we did a LIVE Zoom call where Madison was dressed as Cinderella (Melissa’s favorite). Melissa wore her Cinderella dress and “glass slippers” she got from mommy and daddy the day of her real birthday (check out my amazon store to buy dress & glass slippers). Of course, she had to wear them to meet the real Cinderella! ? ? ?  Madison had everything customized and down to the 9’s… memorized all my special requests I put on her forms when I signed up. Then she read a Disney Princess story to Melissa virtually on Zoom, they both danced, and basically it was the cutest thing ever and completely MADE her birthday party (and probably year)!! As if that weren’t enough, Madison then recorded a custom video (a simple $15 add on) just for Melissa based on the conversation they had on Zoom and reiterating my special requests, so we can keep and look back on forever!! It was just perfect! *Mom Hack: besides relying on Madison’s recording of Zoom, we also recording who thing and it ended up being my favorite of all the videos, because it captures the moment and Melissa dancing from a totally different angle, so make sure you do too if you hire Madison!

My parents’ Florida visit and last hooray at our old house was wonderful! Melissa is still talking about meeting Cinderella and is already planning her 5th birthday, when she wants to meet “Rapunzel… or maybe Ariel!” Haha… mama needs to get planning already! ? We did a clean beauty procedure I’ve never done before called “Lash Tint + Curl.” This procedure only takes 30 to 45 minutes in an Aveda certified salon or spa. *To be clear, while this beauty procedure uses non-toxic Aveda hair dye to tint the lashes, the entire process, such as the glue used, is not 100% natural. I always like to be completely transparent with my followers, since “clean beauty” can be confusing sometimes (to clear up the cosmetic confusion, be sure to check out my Green Beauty Revealed interview with top Clean Beauty Expert here)!

That all being said, this Aveda Lash Tint + Curl is going to be waaay more “clean” than many other lash growth, extension, and lash enhancement procedures and products popular today! Also, a huge win for this beauty option is that it doesn’t hurt at all, is low maintenance, and the results look super natural. This can make it a great alternative if you feel popular lash extensions are not quite for you or even just want a baby step before trying extensions. This is sure to make your lashes stand out and look more glamorous with or without makeup!

At Salon Raw, my fabulous and super-sweet certified Lash Tech and Aveda Ambassador, Emersyn Cash (@emersyn.artistry ), followed the below steps to give me my curl and tinting results.  Emersyn mentioned that the results will last up to 6 to 8 weeks and cost $85 at Salon Raw. *Of Course, the rate may vary depending on your Aveda salon, so come here if you are local to Florida!

Steps To Curl + Tint Lashes (Lasts 6-8 weeks) *See My Video Tutorial On @trubeautyMOVEMENT IGTV 

1 Curl Lashes

• Gel Pads: “To make sure we don’t curl up bottom lashes,” Emersyn explained
• Rod + Glue: Place rods above top lashes and lift with glue (safe for eyes); lash tech will position lashes to get the look you want!
• Step 1: Re-Texturizing cream
• Step 2: Neutralizing cream
• All done! Onto tinting…

2 Tint Lashes 

• Add Aveda non-toxic hair dye (safe for eyes); lash tech will let sit for 8-10 min
• *Note: While Aveda Lash Tech’s have access to all colors, Emersyn suggests going with black no matter what your hair/skin color to make your eyes pop! She assures, it’s will still look natural + glam.

Moderation, Mindset, & The Powerful Connection Between Goals And Self Confidence

Hey trubeautys!

With all the craziness going on in the world with Coronavirus, believe it or not our second baby girl, Samantha Alanna, is already 5 months old!! ? Crazy, I know! Did those 5 months fly or what?! Well, here I am 5 Months postpartum and despite everything going on in the world (and every excuse not to hit my goals lol) I am really proud to share I am officially -40 lbs down after baby #2 feeling strong, accomplished and CONFIDENT!

-40 lbs Down In 5 Months

Many followers have loved seeing my postpartum fitness progress, healthy food choices, & OF COURSE treats (I mean, you gotta live) behind-the-scenes on my Instagram stories, commenting and rooting me on along the way. Your support and connecting behind-the-scenes has really meant a lot and I couldn’t wait to share this update today! I’m a goal-oriented kinda gal and it feels amazing to set a goal, break it down, and make it happen (2 times now losing 40 lbs in 5 months with 2 kiddos whoot whoot)! ??? ?‍ ?‍?‍?‍?

7 lbs To Go

TECHNICALLY, I have 7 lbs to go to actually reach my “pre-baby bod,” since I gained more with my second daughter than my first (I went from 133 to 173 with Melissa and 134 to 181 with Samantha), but honestly who’s counting and who cares lol! I’m not into the whole “number on a scale” thing. It was a great way to measure my progress initially and stay motivated, but I totally know and believe those last 7 lbs will just melt off as long as I stick to my healthy routines and mindset! I’m more about measuring my progress based on how my clothes fit, how I look, & most importantly how I FEEL! And right now, I’m feeling pretty damn good at 5 months postpartum!

My Moderation + Mindset “zen” Approach

So how did I do it?! I’m not one of those fitness gurus who is obsessed with the gym and has targeted body days (no that there is anything wrong with that by the way); my approach is just a lot more zen and laid back and fits my personality. I take walks in nature, do yoga, lift weights occasionally, eat healthy, clean, organic foods you can pronounce as much as possible, never consume fake sugars and chemicals found in “sugar free” foods, while still splurging eating pizza weekly, dessert daily, wine whenever I feel like it and other foods, like bread, that are part of enjoying life! My approach is moderation and mindset!!! I cannot emphasize mindset enough when it comes to getting the results you want trubeautys, because our mental and emotional state is directly correlated to our physical state! People ask how I look so good after having a baby only 5 months ago and part of it is because I believed I would! I manifested my positive results, as I always do in my life!!! The power of the mind is huge, in addition to taking the proper physical actions to get the results we want! Just like being a trubeauty is about being beautiful mind, body, spirit—true wellness is about nourishing the whole being too!

…But Still Set Specific Goals

All that being said, knowing my body and what my best self looks like, I am setting specific goals for those last 7 lbs focused more on strength than “weight.” Goals like tightening up the skin on my belly, which if you magnify here you will see is still a bit loose compared to what it’s been. Other goals like toning my arms & as funny as it sounds lifting and tightening my butt, which I swear sags more than it did pre-kids lol. ?? I know that all probably sounds a bit silly when you first see my pics, but hear me out. We all have different bodies and we all know our own bodies and when they look + feel their best and I know what my best self looks and feels like, so to me there is nothing wrong with having specific goals to change up the usual routine! It’s not obsessive, it’s actually fun and challenging since my usual routine is somewhat generic and more about the whole body. This challenges me in a different and specific way. I actually love researching and trying out new things (hello Pinterest targeted workouts for inspiration! ?) and then sharing if they actually work or not, so stay tuned on posts sharing as my fitness journey continues and I take things to the next level!

While we’re on the topic of setting specific goals, as I thought about this post it was interesting what kept coming up for me was less about the number of pounds lost and more about the confidence that comes from setting a goal and reaching it. So, before I sign off here’s a thought on the power of goals and creating clarity in your life I wanted to share with you all…

Goal Setting And Self Confidence

When we set a goal—any goal—and accomplish it, no matter how big or small, it increases our self-confidence! Thus, as we reach goals and become more confident, we are more likely to set more goals and reach them and increase our confidence even more! So, if you are aiming to increase your self love and confidence trubeautys aim to be present and mindful in the now, but also be sure to CLEARLY DEFINE healthy goals for the future that make you feel motivated and excited! Doing this, especially during these crazy coronavirus and volatile times, will keep you feeling alive with a zest for life! This fine balance allows you to stumble upon joy and enthusiasm in your world.

Do it for YOU!

One last thing—Go after goals not for the approval of others, but for the approval of yourself trubeautys!!! This will ensure your entire life stays on track and in alignment! Mission == best life! Hope you love today’s video! ? We have LOTS of major Life Updates over here in Florida!!!  So, I figured it’s time to film an overview, because we have been quite busy the last 9 months lol.  From expecting our new baby girl, to big Blogging business updates, to a major house add-on/renovation (or move)!  

Baby Girl #2 Due Any Day!

If you’ve missed it on my Blog, Instagram, or recent videos the past 9 months—I’m due any day now with our second daughter, who’s name I will be revealing very soon, so make sure you are following me on social!  Believe it or not, our first daughter, Melissa Skylar, who you may remember if you followed my first pregnancy journey is already 3.5 years old and we announced we were pregnant with our second daughter in my Gender Reveal Blog post back in Spring.  We couldn’t be more thrilled to have two girls… Collin, my husband, is SUCH a great “Girl Dad”, Melissa cannot wait to be a big sister, and of course with my passion for empowering girls I am simply over the moon excited!  

Blog Biz Updates!

Then on the Blogging Business side, I’ve been quite busy during this pregnancy taking things to the next level!  Off the top of my head (and without boring you with all the operational details that go into running a successful blogging business), I hired a Web Designer and redesigned my entire trubeautyMOVEMENT.com Blog!  So now the format, colors and overall flow is more user-friendly and “magazine-like” for you all to read, watch and shop while being inspired!  In addition, I redesigned my trubeautyMOVEMENT logo to reflect my updated Blog colors that are a softer, more pastel mint green and lavender.  Then with IGTV taking off, I got all of my 110 YouTube Videos onto my new IGTV, so now all past videos and current content can be found on BOTH platforms with ease.  Also, I’m obsessed with Amazon and always share my favorite purchases on my @trubeautyMOVEMENT Instagram, so based on your requests I now officially have my own Amazon eStore you all can follow organized by lifestyle category (i.e. wellness, beauty, fashion/style, interior design, parenting, tech, books, influencer must-have’s and much more)!  You can follow my Amazon eStore via links below or in the upper right hand corner of my Blog homepage. Plus, I’ve hired a new Assistant named Stephanie (shout out to Steph!) to assist me in 2020 to keep the day-to-day operations flowing, so I can focus on creating even more consistent, quality content for you ladies!  Together we have created a “trubeautyVIP” email list, which you can also sign up for via the links below, where you will get emails whenever I launch a new Blog/Video post, plus positive affirmations and access to other exclusives like discounts and giveaways—so be sure to sign up!  *Don’t worry, I HATE getting too many emails too or people constantly trying to sell me things I don’t want, so this is limited to only 1-2 per week when I have a new post or tutorial to share just like this post, so you are always in the know!  

House Add-On | Renovation … Or Buying New!

On top of ALL of that (and I’m sure I’m even overlooking some stuff lol), we are talking about doing a major add-on to our house to go from 3 bedrooms/2 baths to 5 bedrooms/3 baths plus an entire renovation changing all the warm tones in the house to cool tones that are not only totally on-point right now, but cool tones have always been mine and my husband’s personal style regardless of trends!  Think—white marble, grey/taupe hardwood floors, white cabinets with crown molding, modern light fixtures and hardware, lots of bohemian plants and contemporary, white, brick fireplace!!  Ahhh, I can just envision it now… can you say G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S.?!  Since this will be a lot to live through, especially with a new infant and toddler, not the mention the investment, my husband and I have also talked to our real estate agent about selling our house and just upgrading our house altogether.  However, as we are looking at new homes to buy, nothing has been quite right.  At this point, I think we’ll end up doing the add-on/reno to get exactly what we want (a lot of homes have more bedrooms like we want, but lack the updates or cool tones we love, so we would have to change things anyway—not to mention we ABSOLUTELY LOVE OUR HOUSE, neighborhood, layout, yard and school systems!  Oh, all the things you take into account as an adult and parent lol.

I hope this Blog inspires you to remember that although change can be a bit scary sometimes—it is also super fun and can lead to the magical life we all deserve when we just go for it!!! That when we are fearless enough to dream big, raise the bar of our standards for ourselves and others, have the self discipline to spend our energy on the things we know are good for us vs. the things that subtly drain us, we can design and manifest our “vision board”, Pinterest, dream life come true! Cheers to the New Year of 2020 trubeautys… finally LIVING  in alignment with the highest version of ourselves in our personal lives and our careers by having the abundance mindset, health, beauty, confidence and clarity to have “2020 vision“ of what kind of life we really want, believing we deserve it, being grateful for it and making it happen with positive, consistent, action!!!!!!!!!!
