[TrueNuff] FanExpo 2013 Wrap-up

Our first time at a convention as exhibitors went (reasonably) well. Technically we lost money but promotion costs money, right? What FanExpo really did was spur us to create a trailer for the TrueNuff.tv YouTube page and finally update the bear icon we've been using the last few years. We handed out 97 of the 100 posters we had printed for the event and the 3 remaining ones will be up at the TrueNuff Shop once we get the missing crew members to sign them.

Beside our table was Squire Sword who does some cool foamcore stand-up character things. We're gonna have to commission him to do us a Bitch Bear one. On the other side of our table was a pack of Bronies. Yeah - that's a real thing. Around the con we saw lots lots of cool costumes and uploaded a few photos to Facebook.

Other things of note:

Moze got snubbed by Michael Rooker.
The Rob fell in love a billion times.
I met TrueNuff Forum member Andreas after knowing him online for like 10 years.

Speaking of The Forums I sent out a mass forum email notifying peeps about FanExpo Vancouver but due to tech issues some of those emails didn't get sent out until yesterday, and today... heh. Maybe it's an indication that everyone should jump on one of our mailing lists?

Overall FanExpo was a fun experience - not sure if we'll do it again soon but we've got a whole year to decide.

TrueNuff is gonna be at this year's FanExpo Vancouver on April 20th and 21st! It's our first convention as exhibitors and we have no idea what we're doing. If you're in the area swing by our table for a free poster, to buy merch or just to say hi. We're not huge cewebrities so we'll sign anything for free (within reason).

You'll be able to find us seated at table 66 in the indie "Artist Alley" section - 10AM to 7PM on Saturday and 10AM to 5PM on Sunday!

We'll probably go for beers after (probably the Sunday because there's a hockey game on Saturday - for reals).

We talk about the good old days when no one cared about this fandangled "High Definition" stuff and Cranston got super drunk and felt us all up - okay that last part didn't happen.

Comic peeps, long time no talk! Jeff started a podcast called One of Us and featured the OG comic Crew to discuss the origins of TrueNuff Comic. It's a bit long and it's not a new comic, heh.

TrueNuff turned twelve a few days ago, can you believe it? Anyhoo if you didn't watch the latest TrueNuff.tv video update we announced the "Mac Spoofed" and "I'm Drinking for 2" shirts have been permanently price reduced. We need to clear out our merch because it's getting dusty up in here.

[TNTV] We've Joined Fullscreen

I hope you've all been enjoying our latest batch videos. We finally put the nail in the coffin for the Mac Spoofs with Trouble and you got to take a peek into our writing process. We filmed 7 smaller videos last weekend and the first of them is already out.

Despite our piddly stream of content as of late we'd like to announce that we've joined the Fullscreen YouTube network! They're probbles YouTubes biggest network and they should help us spread our unique blend of dick jokes and dick jokes across the YouTube galaxy.

If you're a YouTube creator you might want to consider joining - but seriously if you're a YouTube creator stop reading this blog and go out and make videos.

We should take our own advice.

[TrueNuff] Movember 2012 Aftermath

Last week the Canadians were ahead by over a hunnert dollars in our Movember 2012 fundraising efforts and then all of a sudden, at the buzzer, the Americans pulled ahead.

UPDATE: There was late donation after the buzzer from the lovable jerk Matt that sent the Canadians over so the above doesn't apply anymore.

The final total TrueNuff Movember totals are as follows:

TrueNuff Canada raised $520 $545!
TrueNuff USA raised $540!

In the end (where the prostate is accessible) it don't matter what side of the 49th parallel the money came from because as a team we raised over a thousand bucks! $1060 $1085 to be exact if you don't take the currency conversion into consideration so actually it's not exact at all. Either way we shattered last year's record that I can't remember.

Thanks to all who all who contributed it was great and we'll most likely do it again next year. If you haven't seen the TrueNuff Beastie Boys Movember video check it out and hang tight as new videos and stuff are on the way.

J.Rai had a great idea to do a Beastie Boys Cover for his Movember campaign so Brando & I hitched along for the ride.

Also team TrueNuff has raised over $300 and TrueNuff USA has raised over $200 so far and there's still ten days to go!
