				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline">General Definition of Work</span></b></p>
<p>This full time position performs intermediate administrative work supporting the Foundation Executive Director, implementing Foundation strategic initiatives such as the Annual Giving Campaign, developing and writing content for marketing, website, and social media; processing and coordinating gifts/monies received, monitoring accounts, preparing and maintaining records and files, compiling and extracting database information, and related work as apparent or assigned.  Work is performed under the general direction of the Executive Director.  Leadership is provided to volunteers.</p>
<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline">Qualification Requirements</span></b></p>

<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline">Essential Functions</span></b></p>
<p>Participates in basic functions of the Foundation including meetings, maintenance of databases and providing administrative support to the Executive Director. Monitors and collects metrics, prepares reports. Coordinates responses to data requests from the Library Finance Department, external auditors, and donors. Administers Foundation financial transactions according to Foundation and Library financial policies and processes. Maintains the office procedures manual.</p>
<p>Accepts and processes various payment types (e.g. cash, checks, credit cards) in a professional and timely manner, enters data into Raiser’s Edge and other donation tracking systems according to established procedure.  Prepares gift acknowledgement and other correspondence.</p>
<p>Establishes processes and schedules to ensure all required work is completed accurately and in a timely manner.</p>
<p>Prepares presentation materials for use by others, editing content and adding appropriate graphic and design elements when requested.</p>
<p>Working with the Communications and Marketing Department, develops and writes persuasive content for the Foundation including creative development of Foundation publications and print materials, website content and workflow, and event-related materials.  Participates with Communications and Marketing in traditional media outreach and relationship management.</p>
<p>Maintains current social media channels and implements new channels as appropriate.</p>
<p>Under the general direction of the Executive Director, plans and executes Foundation fundraising campaigns including the Annual Campaign and Buy-A-Book Club. Participates in developing the Foundation’s Annual Strategic Plan.</p>
<p>Work closely with Millennium Café to keep within their budget for maintenance and repairs of equipment, purchase of equipment and the purchase of small wares. Receive monthly reports from Café on sales and report to Foundation Trustees.</p>
<p>Supports planning and execution of special events, including planning, logistics, location, catering, day-of timeline and assignments along with supporting the event invitation mailing, and RSVP tracking.</p>
<p>Coordinates closely with the Executive Director regarding annual giving and other donors who are considered appropriate for cultivation and possible Wilder Society membership. Identifies donor prospects from the pool of annual givers that might be upgraded to major gift donors.  Implements appropriate follow up cultivation efforts and engagement activities. Supports the Executive Director in monitoring and improving The Library Foundation’s donor recognition and stewardship initiatives.</p>
<p>Attends various meetings, committees, etc.; prepares correspondence, memoranda, documentation, and presentation materials for meetings.  Transcribes and types minutes.</p>
<p>Participates in library-wide efforts including staff meetings and library programs.</p>
<p>Meets with library staff to share and receive information.</p>
<p>Participates in seminars, workshops and other training to enhance expertise and update necessary technical knowledge.</p>
<p>Speaks at special events and to various community groups.</p>
<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline">Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</span></b></p>
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of recognized development principles with practical experience in annual giving campaign administration required.</li>
<li>Ability to gather and analyze facts on a variety of subject matter and to assemble reports;</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively with volunteer leadership and to respond promptly to requests for assistance or information.</li>
<li>Ability to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with prospective donors and funding sources including local foundations, corporations and businesses, civic organizations and the general public.</li>
<li>Superior project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities under deadlines and work under pressure.</li>
<li>Basic to intermediate graphic design skills or training desired.</li>
<li> Superior problem solving and analytical skills.</li>
<li>Ability to recognize problems, assess situations, gather relevant information, make recommendations, and initiate appropriate actions according to policy or established procedure.</li>
<li>Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proofreading, editing, and document production skills.</li>
<li>Knowledge of basic principles of accounting</li>
</ul>
<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline">Education and Experience</span></b></p>
<p>Bachelor’s degree and three years experience working in a marketing or fundraising environment. Demonstrated experience with grantwriting, publications, and traditional and social media. Demonstrated experience using database software required, Raiser’s Edge experience preferred. Demonstrated experience with digital communications required.</p>
<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline">Physical Requirements</span></b></p>
<p>This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires sitting and occasionally requires standing, walking and reaching with hands and arms; work has no special vision requirements; vocal communications is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, playground, classroom, light traffic).</p>
<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline">Special Requirements</span></b></p>
<p>Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the State of Kansas &amp; maintenance of an insurable driving record.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline"><strong>Compensation and Benefits</strong></span></p>
<p>Pay grade begins at $16.89 per hour, or higher depending on qualifications.  Excellent benefits, including BCBS health/dental,<br />
retirement and cafeteria plan, with 17 days vacation and 12 days sick leave.</p>
