Parrotghost – The best tshirt packaging I have ever seen

I recently received a nice little package in the mail from Scotland-based tshirt label, Parrotghost. If you haven’t come across Parrotghost before, they’re one of the more quirky tshirt labels I have come across….so they’re totally up my alley.

Anyway, the reason for this particular post is not actually to review the Parrotghost tshirts themselves, but rather, to show you how freaking good the Parrotghost tshirt packaging is.

Purchasing a tshirt, or anything online for that matter, is an experience that shouldn’t finish the moment you click the “Pay now” button, and it seems that Parrotghost are very aware of this. Instead of the standard ‘plastic wrap’ that most tshirt labels opt for to ‘protect’ their tshirts from damage, Parrotghost opted for a compact yet sturdy cardboard box. I love the addition of the Parrotghost logo sticker on top (I think it’s because the Parrotghost logo is so uniquely random).

It was like a Christmas present that just kept on giving. Once I had opened the cardboard box, I was presented with an envelope with an actual wax seal of the Parrotghost logo. The tshirt was wrapped in tissue paper, again with a Parrotghost logo sticker. It was like receiving a gift from an expensive boutique (yet the Parrotghost tees only retail for 15 quid!). The say that over-servicing customers is the best way to their heart, and I reckon that Parrotghost has well over-serviced me. But it doesn’t end there….

To my delight, once I tore open the tissue paper like a 5 year old, I was greeted with a familiar little face staring back at me. A lego man, emblazoned with the Parrotghost logo across his chest was tucked into his soft cotton bed, waiting to say hello to his new owner.

A couple of weeks later, like most of my other tshirts, my Parrotghost tee has been washed, worn, rinsed and repeated. It’s probably sitting in the dirty laundry right now. But that cool little Parrotghost lego man stands happily on my desk, reminding me of the surprisingly satsifying experience of receiving my Parrotghost package in the mail.

The truth is, purchasing a tshirt online is an experience that never ends. And the better the tshirt labels make that experience, the more fans they will get….it really is as simple as that. Anyone who owns a tshirt label should definitely be take note of this.

So, to the dudes at Parrotghost, I commend you on what a fine job you’ve done with your tshirt mail-order packaging, my hat goes off to you (while my Parrotghost shirt stays firmly on!)

It’s always big news in tshirt world when Threadless is having a sale.

But this is news of monstrous proportions. Threadless is currently running one of their biggest ever sales. For 30 hours, you can choose from over 600 different tshirt designs from their awesome range, for only $9 each. Yep, that’s insane!

At the time of writing, there were 24 hours left so you’ve still got a bit of time….but I’d suggest getting in quick before everything sells out. The clock is ticking people….

Plus Size Clothes Shopping: Not for the Weak

Shopping for plus size clothes is not that different to shopping for ‘regular sized’ clothing, and is not an easy thing at the best of times, particularly if you have two children that hate shopping, and clothes. It usually goes something like this: attempt to park the car (never takes less than 19.3 minutes to find a spot, during which time I am bombarded with “There’s one! Oh, you missed it!” every 14 seconds), get out the super expensive pram I insisted we buy, but takes a degree in engineering to put together, strap the baby in the pram (who begins to protest at not being allowed to walk) and then dodge other crazed mums trying to park in order to find the entry to the mall. After this, I have to negotiate a path past all the fast food and donut stores (and coffee shops, which only adds to the pain), find the plus size clothes shop I’m after, and rummage through until I find the style, price and size I need. Of course I need to try them on, as they’re all cut differently, and this presents an opportunity for the oldest to fling the curtain open whilst I am half dressed. I haven’t even tried the new clothes on yet. The baby then decides to assert her right to tantrum, and I am receiving ‘the look’ from other shoppers. Frantic attempts to bribe both children with snacks ironically make me the target of even worse looks, and I usually end up leaving empty handed.

The blessing to all mums now, though, is online shopping. And it is here we are guaranteed peace and quiet whilst browsing virtual aisles, finding the clothes we want, in the size and colour we want, at fantastic prices. And we can do it with a coffee in one hand!

JD Sports – Reebok Easytone Sandals

Trying to find a shoe that is comfortable to wear everyday is stressful to some at the best of times. Trying to find one that is comfortable, stylish and helps tone butts, hamstrings and calves while wearing them seems impossible. Thankfully Reebok has had this concept in mind when they designed their Easytone Sandals.

What makes the Easytone Sandal so revolutionary in its design and manufacture? Most of us cannot wait to get home after a long day to kick off our shoes. Hard floors combined with non-supportive and inflexible soles can lead to aching ankles, insteps and toes. Easytone Sandals with their specially designed balance pods allowing air to flow from the forefront to the heel establishes a feeling of walking on pillows.
