[Anajet] just bought printer...cant do ink charge

hey, I bought my anajet a while back and am ready to get it up and running. Its full of ink and im trying to do an ink charge using the epsonadj progam that came with it but it is unresponsive. I can print to the printer using the RIP program but of course there is no ink in the lines so its printing nothing. I have had no success getting any response using the epsonadj program. any ideas?

when i click the "ink charge" button...nothing happens..

I click the "get status" button and it tells me "Communication error occurred.
Check the I/F cable connection and power of printer."

the anajet is online and I am able to get a response usign the rip program but not the epsonadj program....

whats up?

which to blog about

ok i know topics like this have come up before, but i am a little confused as to what to write about in my blog

alot of the advice i have read before has been to have the content of the blog be about what your target market is, but as my shirts 'funny t-shirts', i can't really think of a common interest that my customers have that i could blog about..

my other idea was to start a blog about t-shirt printing, i thought since that is what i spend most of my time researching for a yr now, I have quite abit of knowledge on it, however it wouldn't really attract potential customers, and would also help give existing ones an idea as to how much it costs to produce my shirts which isn't great for me

any ideas? what should I do?

Hello I want to create a Christian t-shirt/Messiah t-shirt site.

I'm going to be using Simple shopping cart for artists, designers, bands, record labels, jewelry, crafters - Big Cartel

I've already gotten some requests from designers who are familiar with Simple shopping cart for artists, designers, bands, record labels, jewelry, crafters - Big Cartel and have done work for others. The range of pricing is $250'ish. I'm not a designer and don't know anything about designing is the reason why I'm seeking freelancers because I want my site to look good.

My question or questions are what do I need to look for ask and the like in regards to this project? Such as SEO and the like.

Shipping/Freight Class For DTG Printer?

I'm in the process of buying a used DTG printer and I am trying to figure out the shipping/freight cost.

Does anyone know the correct Shipping/Freight class for a Direct To Garment Printer? It will probably be one of the smaller ones like a GT-541 or an Anajet. It won't be any of the large multi-platen units.

Shop Layout Help needed

Workshop layout-We could use some ideas on space layout for our heat tranfer and engraving work areas- Currently situated in a basement area of our offices- 700 sq- approx- but very tight- We have 2 heat presses- compressors- 2 laser engravers- 1 vinyl cutter- any ideas would be helpful- perhaps templates or ideas-we are planning to re- do this area- thanks

I was all ready to place an order at xpres today but have just received and used a sample from spandex and wow what a difference xpres is the best price i can find anywhere but i dislike the slight sheen you get. spandex has a totally mat and soft finish which i really like but spandex is expensive does anyone know of suppliers that supply total mat vinyl like spandex but with the cost of xpres? oh an UK would be best or i will just end up paying loads in postage

I've got a few questions to do with printing on t-shirts with acrylic paints (mixed with a textile medium). I first off thought they were the same as waterbased inks, which they kind of are but.. anyway..

(this is all home based and only a hobbie at the moment)

1) I've tried printing white ink on a black t-shirt which I knew would soak into the fibres... but when i came to print over the same area again i found my stencil no longer matched up with what I had originally printed... is it due to the ink drying and shrinking? the t-shirt not being stretched? or my wooden frame warping after washing ink out?

basically how can i stop this so i CAN reprint over the same area twice? :confused::confused:

2) My first attempts had a nice thick layer on the shirt which looked and felt nice but then washed off after only 1 wash... any ideas?

3) Acrylic paint is acrylic paint... so theoretically I should be able to just use any acrylic paint and mix it with my textile medium, correct?

i just bought a fast t-jet 3 sdt 1300 on impulse lol yes it was an expensive impluse item to buy huh . i ve been thinking about this machine for a while and did my research but after i bought it( i didnt receive it yet) i found out thatus screenprinters is out of the dtg game. am i wrong or i read it wrong anyone knows anything about this???

What do you guys think did i make a good choice by buying this machine????

i paid 4000k ( yes i know why so cheap ) i bought it from a seller on ebay that upgraded to the blazer model after using this one for a month. i think even it beeing used for couple months i think the price is right.

any suggestions any feedback anything i should look out when i get this machine

Shirts in Gas Stations/Mini Marts

Looking to tap into a different category. My dad has a wholesale business which sells general merchandise to over 300+ local gas station mini marts. He currently already sells lots of embroidered hats to them (he buys from importers directly from china so he can buy them cheaper from them then us doing it in-house).

But I think I can screen print shirts where we can be competitive, I am wondering how much you would pay for a Gildan 5000 or Gildan 2000 type of shirt in a gas station mart (cheesy sayings and some generic dragon, mystic type of designs)?

I think the retail price point is between $10-$15 max. I would have to wholesale them to my dad for about $5. Then he would have to sell them to the gas station owner for about $7. Margins seem so low....

SWR Emulsion

Ok so Ive been screen printing for a few months now......stated out with plastisol and got pretty comfortable relatively quick......when I burn a screen with dxp for plastisol inks , I burn for 30 minutes using a 500 watt halogen and get a solid 7 with a step wedge....so I purchased some swr water base emulsion

here i go with the swr water base emulsion ...I am attempting to print a 4 color process job for myself..just some t-shirts with an ad on the back and the company name on the front.I coat the screens and let them dry overnight...burn the 1st screen for 30 minutes ...I forget to put the step wedge on..as I am washing out the 1st screen the 2nd screen is burning....but the first screen wont washout.....I start scratching my head......why wont this washout.......over exposed.......

I run to my stop watch and look ..14 minutes have gone by...so I turn the 500 watt halogen off and washout the 2nd screen ( I put the step wedge on this time) this screen washes out perfect.......

heres my question.

why does it take me 30 minutes with dxp emulsion and 14 minutes with swr emulsion?

I coat them both the same 1/1
