Probably! Though I’ve never tried myself. If you just want to enlarge the waistband, there’s a few videos on youtube to help you such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZ0XvVkq2_o. If you want to enlarge the entire leg, then I don’t see why putting a long strip of fabric down the entire length of the outside seam wouldn’t work.

I have a cheap pink blazer and I really wanted to add something to the sleeves’ cuffs / lining where they are turned up. I saw this great tutorial on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=De3-r5H8AHs) by beinggeekchic and had a go. Never done a no sew projects before but loved the heatnbond iron on adhesive tape. Wonder how long it’ll stay on for! Loved the fat quarter fabric I ordered too. Here are some photos of the process….

Here’s a selection of colour keys (or colour scripts as I think they’re sometimes called) that I illustrated for an upcoming short film, Franglais (see the trailer here!). Colour keys are much like storyboards, but instead they concept the mood and lighting of the film. Dean Wright, the director said:

“I would definitely recommend other indie film makers consider them for their project as as they really help the cast and crew get their heads around what I have in mind.”

They were super fun to do and it was wonderful to hear such positive feedback from the cast and crew, telling me that seeing the colour keys was a great way to get inside the directors head and understand his vision of the film.

Tutorial: Baggify your clothes

There’s plenty of tutorials around the internet that take you through tightening clothes and making them smaller to fit better, but what if you wanted to make them bigger to fit better?

I have this top/dress thing that for some reason I just don’t like how tight it is. It feels too long to wear as a top, but I cant wear it as a dress as the tightness just makes it quickly ride up over my hips. So instead of letting it sit in my wardrobe doing nothing, I decided to spruce it up a bit and make it a bit bigger!

So to widen a piece of clothing we have to add extra material, so find some scrap fabric that will compliment the colour. It doesn't necessarily have to match exactly- I chose to use black on a rusty orange dress as I think the contrast in the two colours looks great.

Cut a single line straight up the sides of the top or just unpick the seams if you want to save as much material as possible.

Cut out two triangles of your scrap fabric the same length as the cut you just made (and a little bit longer just to make sure!) with the base of the triangle being half of the length that you want to widen your top by. And then use that triangle to trace and cut out a duplicate so you’ll have two. I used the sides of an extra large t-shirt.

Line up the two edges of the top and the triangle together (wrong sides facing out) and pin down to prevent it slipping.

Sew along this edge. I sewed mine by hand as my machine sucks at sewing stretch fabric, but either way will do. It just takes longer to do it by hand!

Once done, line up the other side (wrong sides out), pin and sew as before. Then cut off any excess fabric.

Then just do the same thing to the other side, turn right side out and you’re done! Easy peasy :)

I used iMotion HD (i think) on an iPad and recorded an image every 3 seconds. Though my dad moved it without realising halfway through so I had to cut a lot out ¬_¬ Pfft. Parents!

I stayed at my parents house for a few days where they got me to do an abstract painting for their living room wall inspired by another painting they liked. It certainly makes me miss painting irl, especially as I’ve been doing so much digital work recently :/

A bit late, and I apologise!! >_< these were the socks I made from the knitting loom mentioned in my last post. I had already made a sock before these ones which didn’t turn out very well so these were my second try :) I also decided to make them stripy which was just a matter of knotting the different wool on the end every 7 rows. It was so easy and so fast! I’m totally making knee high ones when winter starts to roll in again :D

My boyfriend bought me a craft workshop voucher and I decided to do the loom knitting class. Knitting is one thing I’ve never been very good at and one thing I always wish i was! The perfect thing about this type of knitting is that, as well as it being super easy to learn, its always perfectly straight and neat and it’s difficult to pick up or drop stitches, so perfect for a beginner like me!

I had a one on one class but you can have group classes too. You can see what other classes are available and book one yourself at www.teaandcrafting.co.uk. I couldn’t recommend it enough; the lady teaching me was so lovely and helpful and I had so much fun.

Anyway, I went out and bought some wool today and here’s what I’ve done so far. It probably took me about an hour to do what you can see in the photo. My plan is to make a pair of socks, so I’ll post some more photos of my progress if it all goes well!

My animation on the BT Tower in London!!!:

If you’re in London tomorrow (31st Jan) and have a view of the BT Tower, you’ll be able to see mine and my boyfriend’s animation on the tower’s cylindrical screen!

After my boyfriend found the competition on Twitter, we made a special animation which loops around the BT Tower’s unique cylindrical screen and found out this morning that it’s one of a few animations that will be played on a loop this Tuesday from 5:30pm for an hour C: (ours is the animation of the snowball fight!)

I went into work on a Saturday because I knew there was a 12 inch cintiq there that I could play around on while no one was around :P

I wasn’t as amazed as I thought l’d be with it, the colours especially were really wrong which is somewhat important when painting :I But it was still really fun to use and of course more intuitive than a regular tablet.
