How Much Will Office for Mac 2011 Cost?

The new Office 2011 lineup makes your purchasing decision easier — with a lower price per installation for all editions. These changes ensure that customers get the right products and applications at the right price.

Microsoft Office for Mac Home and Student 2011 includes Word for Mac, PowerPoint for Mac, Excel for Mac and Messenger for Mac. It will be available in two editions :

a single install for RM468.00 and a Family Pack for RM599.00 with three installs for families with more than one Mac in their household. The Home and Student edition provides the core productivity applications that Mac users want and need.

Microsoft Office for Mac Home and Business 2011 includes Word for Mac, PowerPoint for Mac, Excel for Mac, Outlook for Mac and Messenger for Mac. It also will be available in two editions :

a single install for RM768.00 and a Multi-Pack for RM1,099.00 with two installs for a user with two machines. If Home and Student customers determine that they need the additional functionality of a desktop e-mail client, they can easily step up to Office for Mac 2011 Home and Business using online upgrade functionality.

What Languages Will Office 2011 Be Available In?

Office 2011 will be available in 13 languages, including Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Spanish and Swedish. The MacBU worked to expand the global accessibility of Office 2011 and is adding two new languages — Polish and Russian. The suite will be available in several regions in late October with continued availability through the rest of the year. A complete list of country-specific availability will be disclosed in late October.

If I Buy Office 2008 Today, Can I Upgrade?

Today we are announcing a program to allow qualifying customers to upgrade to Office 2011 at no additional cost when they purchase Office 2008.

Qualifying purchase details. Office 2008 for Mac must be purchased between 1 August to 30 November 2010, at Microsoft or an authorized reseller.

Apple just release a new iMac with a better specification, cheaper then previous price and ready on sales at EPICentre store Pavilion, KL. It’s recommended to get during PC Fair August 2010. EPICentre will bundle it up with a lots of freebies on that day. All new iMac now come with dedicate RAM (previously they also have shared RAM). imac 21 and 27 inch spec

New iMAC come with the new snow leopard 10.6.1 version and iLife 09. Not to forget, new Wireless keyboard and the new Magic Mouse. It has 2 different size and 4 different specification. The size of 21.5” compare to the old 24” is almost the same. Yes, I said, it almost look same in terms of size but the 21.5″ is wider. iMAC stand is using the same Cinema 24” LED display which mean thinner then the old version of iMAC. As for the 27”, you can buy VESA Mount Adaptor Kit for 24-inch/27-inch iMac and 24-inch LED Cinema Display. To previous user who’s had the Rain i360 turntable, don’t worry you don’t need to get the new one because the old is compatible with the new 21” (use the 20”) and 27” (use the 27”) size.

iMAC for 21.5” can be upgrade up to 8gig DDR3 1066Mhz (2 RAM slot) but for 27” you can upgrade it to 16gig DDR3 1066Mhz(4 RAM slot). As for default specification, 27” came with 2×2 RAM, so you can added another on 2 free slot. iMAC also come with SD card reader.

I’m impress with the new build-in speaker compare to the old one, it had enough power/loud to be use on Large bedroom. All you got to do is set the iTunes Equalizer (Command + 2 on iTunes) to spoken word. Even though you have other player like VLC, the sound is still awesome. Below are the benchmark chart comparison between all those new iMAC.

So, base on this chart, it advised to 3.06GHz instead of upgrading to 3.33Ghz. To people who need performance, get the new 27” with iCore7 instead iCore5, almost 35% different between them. For more info hit you local Apple store. For Malaysian, you visit EPICentre has ready stock.

According to Boy Genius Report, this may be Apple’s Black Friday deals. According to this image, they will be applicable only on November 27th. They seem too good to be true:

1. 25% discount off all Macs.
2. Up to 15% of all accessories, Apple software, and Apple hardware.
3. Up to 30% off all iPods.

The only catch: The discounts are not applicable to the iPhone or the iPod Shuffle.

Thus for the promotion, all the Apple store will have this kind of promotion globally, even the Premium Reseller and Authorized Reseller needed to follow this promotion globally. Don’t forget to hit up your local Apple Store / Premium Reseller store.

Reset Mac OSX password

Most of the mac users  are in business level so they are not tech-savy users and make them too dumb to read the manual which already included in mac basic guide(inside the box of your laptop/mac). I got one customer came to customer service for resetting his Mac OSX password(he too dumb to remember 2 years password he been use LOL!), RM50 was charge for it. Now I’m going to teach how to make 3min work for RM50:

1. You must Installer DVD for mac (get color cd) or you can use new snow leopard CD
2. You must find a customer who forgot his Mac OSX password

After you have all the requirement, follow the step below:

1. Insert the DVD to the tray
2. Restart and press down the letter ‘C’. It will load the installer DVD
3. On the first screen, select Installer > Reset Password
4. Select your account and make up a new password.
5. Reboot
6. Ask your customer to pay you RM50 or more (better!)

Here you go, now go make your 3min job and get paid RM50.

Grooveshark

Grooveshark offering you listen to music without any 30sec demo shit like Imeem does now day. With user friendly web interface look it make listening to music and creating your playlist much more easier. Additionally, you can can embed songs you find on Grooveshark into web sites and social networking profiles, and share them with friends via email and instant messages. I guess now I can save-up my hard drive with a song that I didn’t even listen to. With Grooveshark, I can listen to my library or playlist anywhere, cause it’s online!

Paralles Desktop 5 for Mac

To all windows 7 fans, now you can run it on Mac OSX virtually with multi-touch gesture support with Parallels Desktop 5. It also fully support Windows 7′s Aero desktop effects. Parallels said that the tests, conducted by Crimson Consulting Group, also found that the new Parallels Desktop 5 for Mac is up to 300 percent faster for virtual machine operations than its predecessor. In addition, 3Dmark 2006 Professional test scores perform up to 7 times better for 3D and graphics performance.
