Selling America Short

Author Ed Ponsi recently joined our staff to do a book signing at the New York Traders Expo this past week. He spoke at the show regarding “The Future of the Dollar…Are We Selling America Short?”

Although I wasn’t among the staff members at the show, I did hear he had QUITE the following! Thankfully Ed brought extra books because we completely sold out of our inventory.

In Selling America Short, Ponsi details how history is repeating itself; how we’ve gotten to where we are, and how we can fix “America” before it’s too late. It’s not the same story of placing the blame on Wall Street, government officials and big name banks… Ponsi believes that the Federal Reserve is to blame for much of America’s financial crisis. He provides facts about recent events in history, how the Fed has come to the so-called rescue to save us, and the charted repercussions.

Ponsi speaks of his time in Mexico City: “Here, there is no middle class. You either live on my side of the fence, where the money is, or you live on the other side of the wall, which is hell. There is no in-between.”

Streets in Mexico are lined with armed guards. The poor have nothing to lose and officials are paid so poorly that doing the right thing is not worth their own personal risk.

The thought of living in a country as Ponsi describes frightens me beyond words. He believes that if America keeps going in the direction we’re heading, we will be the next Mexico City.

So what can we do? Ponsi feels that the state of our nation can be turned around by strengthening the US dollar. This is not the responsibility of our government or Wall Street, but something that we all have an active part in changing.
