She loves to joke. She loves to play. She’s fun. She’s easy-going. She doesn’t take herself too seriously.

Her heart is quick to trust, quick to listen, and quick to care for others. Her friendships are stable and deep. Everyone loves her, trusts her, admires her, and enjoys her company.

She understands her faults and works to change them. She values the opinions of others. Her heart is open to change. She’s not afraid to admit she is wrong.

She loves the Lord and her identity is in Him. She hears the God’s word and responds to it. She’s not satisfied and content with her faith. She feels conviction, feels the Holy Spirit. Even in times of weakness her heart does not waiver from the gospel of Christ. She knows the meaning of true joy.

There’s not a bone of insincerity in her, not an ounce of callousness, no shred of doubt. No. She’s filled with the love of Christ and pours it out to all she comes to contact with. The Holy Spirit radiates from her every action.

She believes in me. She trusts me. She desires to be with me, to be held in my arms. She gives me freedom to be myself. She prays for me. She asks about my life. She hears me. She buys me things, makes me things, writes me notes, encourages me. She sacrifices time to be with me. She loves me. And yet, she loves Jesus way more than anything else in the world, especially me.

She’s a woman of God. And she’s beautiful.

Goodbye Tumblr.com, Hello Chrisvarela.org

It’s official! They are actually quite the opposite. They have an album titled “War Elephant” that I am falling in love with. Reminiscent of Band of Horses, Deer Tick is definitely another solid indie-folk band in my books. Really, really good folk music.

There’s actually a documentary about them called Deer Tick: To the City of Sin! coming out in a few weeks. It looks pretty sweet. Here’s the trailer:

As I always say, IFFL!

How could I be such a fool? Yesterday-yes, one day ago-the Old Canes released Feral Harmonic, their second full-length album. I’ve only given it a run through once, and I really like what I hear so far. Sounds similar to their other album that came out in 2004 called Early Morning Hymns, which was excellent.

Which reminds me, I stumbled across this homemade, Take Away Show style video of Christopher Crisci, their lead singer, playing a song off of Early Morning Hymns called “Both Falling Bright.” I like it so I thought I’d post it.

Anyway, Feral Harmonic is a really good album. If you like indie-folk music, you have to give it a listen.

It’s name? Built To Spill

The more I listen to their brand spankin’ new album “There is No Enemy,” the more I realize how remarkably similar the singer is to both Death Cab AND Modest Mouse. This combo makes for a great singer, and an amazing album.

A little more upbeat then what I usually listen to, but pretty standard indie pop music nonetheless. Singer goes high, bass and drums are tight, sick tight guitar riffs. A little like Ra Ra Riot and Bishop Allen, both of which are excellent. Nice and Nicely Done is the name of the album I’ve been listening to a lot lately. You’ve gotta check them out for yourself.

Here’s a super artsy pic of them. haha.

HEY! I’ve officially passed the 9000 song marker. I’m definitely putting to use my 80 giger. I have added some sick-tight stuff so far this month. I’ll confess now that there’s this acoustic folk musical genius, known as Kristian Matsson (His band name is The Tallest Man On Earth), who has stolen my heart. His unique voice and crazy guitar and banjo skills leave me speechless as I listen ever so intently.

Last.fm ——> Here

Gosh get his full-length album, you won’t be disappointed. It’s called Shallow Graves" (promise me you’ll let it grow on you?)

Here, enjoy this picture of him.

Wonderful vocals backed by a smooth acoustic guitar makes for a perfect indie folk album, and there’s nothing like good indie folk music. I’m seriously about to pop in the ear buds and go study to this music. Get on it, friends.

I’m listening to an album by a band called fun. titled “Aim and Ignite.”

If you like the Format (I personally do) you’ll for sure like this band, mostly because the main guy from the Format is the main guy in fun. as well.

Seriously this is a sweet album, get it.

Andrew Bird - Armchair Apocrypha

Alright so I’m listening to this album right now, and apparently I’ve forgotten just how good this album is..
