I’ve kind of been out of the loop for several months now. Life as usual (my professional life anyway) get’s way too hectic sometimes and I don’t really have time to focus on the stuff I like to do. I am too wrapped up in the things that I have to do so when I get free time I usually spend it recuperating. Hopefully all of this craziness will be coming to an end and I can get to do some cool stuff for me again! Only time will tell…

I have been so busy lately that I haven’t had any serious time for training. I’ve been putting the job first way too much so it was time for a change. Tonight I ran my first 10K in over 3 months. And before that my last 10K was three months prior to that one. The run went much better than expected. 45:29 Maybe it was the weather (I ran right after a big thunderstorm) or maybe it was the chance to finally blow off some steam. I’m 100% positive that I am going to feel this one in the morning. I’m also 95% sure that I will still feel it Friday morning!

Because it’s been that kind of a day week.

Thinking of entering this in the Montreal FilmPop festival. I’m wondering if they would accept it. I’m also wondering if I should attempt to shoot this again in HD, but I really believe that the original in all of it’s graininess really captures the moment the way I intended.

The giving 110% cliche is a bunch of BS. If 110% is your maximum effort I’ve got news for you, your 110% is actually your 100% and your been copping out by giving 90% (or less) all this time.

Letter Of Note of the Day: 15 years ago, Quentin Tarantino fan Sarah — then 13 — wrote the up-and-coming auteur a letter lauding his work and expressing her desire to become a filmmaker.

Much to Sarah’s surprise, Tarantino — who suffers from dyslexia — responded with a thoughtful, handwritten letter, in which he encouraged his young admirer to “rock on.”

Hi Sarah

Thank you for your very lovley letter. It’s the best letter I’ve gotten all year long. I’m glad you loved “Dusk”, it was one of my favrote times making a movie. And I feel my best performance so far. It’s cool to hear a girl into horror flicks.

Rock on Sarah!!

Do you know about Itallion horror film maker Mario Bava? He did Blood and Black Lace, Black Sunday and Black Sabbith. He’s one of my favrotes. I read your letter to Mira [Sorvino], she loved it too. Write me anytime. I can’t wait for you to get your hands on a camera too.

It’s been a year since I had this idea. Nothing has materialized from it yet, but this is a venture I would be willing to look into some day.

How cool of an idea would that be for a cafe? Some chill house music in the background and a nice cup of coffee or some light breakfast fare. A fun place to hang with friends for breakfast, lunch or in the evening. Live DJ Friday & Saturday evening and Saturday & Sunday mornings. All “House Blend” DJ’s music available on sale at the cafe with 100% of CD profits to DJ’s. This is a concept that could work here in Montreal as long as you have a good location.

Ingrained somewhere in my DNA is the ability to focus 100% of my mind and energy into getting things done. It doesn’t matter the activity. Music, sports, cooking, work, etc. What I lack is the ability to coast through some of this stuff and save some energy for things that I would like to do instead of for things that I have to do. For some reason I don’t have the ability to be only 75% cognisant of what I am doing or what is going on around me. For me it’s all, or nothing. There is no cruise control, no auto pilot. Some days it’s a great ability to have. Other days, not so much… It’s a double edge sword and I try to take to good with the bad, but this week it’s killing me! Oh well, one more day and I get a chance to recuperate again. The good thing about that is I’ll be focusing 100% of my energy into resting!
