today i am in staines. i am in staines because i have to open the door for the plumber to carry out some thoroughly non-essential works.

i am glad my family feel they can rely on me in such states of emergency.

my home home is over 200 years old, and is a veritable hot bed of paranormal activity. reading a book about spiritual reincarnation gone awry on the train home was definitely a good idea. i am definitely not sitting in the living room trying hard not to move or breath lest i slip into some sort of alternate reality and become possessed.

in order to distract myself i took a very small pile of belated birthday cards with me to the loo. i opened up the one from annabel first, which says “I’m on that diet where you eat everything and pray for a miracle”. i genuinely laughed out loud quite audibly and then realised the window was open.. and i was on the toilet. fuk u annabel.

inside it says “So you’re two decades old. Good luck with that.

this has gone straight into the top 5 birthday cards of all time. i also got a piece of A4 paper folded in half, signed with happy birthday messages from my “QCL fan club” aka all of annabel’s dumb friends. all in all 7 girls that i don’t know for shit wrote amazingly enthusiastic, well wishing birthday messages, complete with diagrams and pictures. life=made.

*once annabel and i went to starbucks, and they wrote ‘luisa’ and ‘andbov’ on our drinks.
