A Real Wedding With Artistic Details

The Beatles, a make your own English muffin pizza bar, popcorn, cookies, and a private planetarium show round out this creative and elegant real wedding via Poppies & Posies. Make a wish on a star and see Sara and Andy‘s photos.

Both creatives, Sarah is an interior designer, Andy a graphic designer. They live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with their adorable dog Bendel, a gift to themselves after their engagement. Bendel was named after their wedding venue, the historical Henry Bendel Mansion at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center in Connecticut.

The design concept of the wedding was inspired by the couple’s love for modern and graphic elements.

Flower and event designers Sierra and Juliet of Poppies & Posies fame paired crisp modern square plates with vintage tins on each table. Bold graphic flowers and elements such as craspedia, spider mums, and succulents were used throughout the centerpieces to create punches of color.

The couple created the seating cards mostly themselves by collecting paint chips and naming each table after one of their favorite colors.

Mini buttons were attached to seating cards representing unique characteristics in each guest, some were funny memories, some inside jokes.

The entire wedding centered around celebration and having fun. A lemonade stand was set up after the ceremony and family and friends could grab a popcorn or cookie snack before entering a private planetarium show at the museum.

The groom’s one request for the evening – a make your own English muffin pizza bar as a late night snack between The Beatles tunes that played all evening.
