In this scenario, Twitter would have turned into something like a realtime cloud API company. The other camp looked at Google’s advertising model for inspiration, and decided that building their own version of AdWords would be the right way to go. As you likely already know, the advertising group won that battle, and many of the open API people left the company.”

-
Too bad.

Being able to select text on the button link will sometimes results in a text highlight if the user clicks on the button a couple of times. This doesn’t look good. Since the user won’t need to copy and paste the label, we can disable text selection like this:

.button-link {
-webkit-user-select:none;
-moz-user-select:none;
-ms-user-select:none;
user-select:none;
}

The Nominees Are In!

The Nominees Are In!:
Interceptor was nominated for Best Comedy and Best Acting!
…

I feel that bandwidth decisions are best left to the browser. The decision to download high vs. standard resolution images should be made by user agents, depending on the bandwidth available — and further, I believe there should be a user settable preference for “always use standard resolution images,” “always use standard resolution images,” ”download high resolution as bandwidth permits,” and so on. This is the responsibility of browser implementors, and they largely seem to be in agreement on this.
”

- w3.org | Florian’s Compromise | Responsive Images Community Group

“The cuss you are.”

“The cuss you are.”

I dig the green floor lamp.

I dig the green floor lamp.

Video

"It’s fascinating—and terrifying—to imagine Anderson’s struggles with chaos or microcosmic densities,..."

“It’s fascinating—and terrifying—to imagine Anderson’s struggles with chaos or microcosmic densities, à la Joseph Cornell or Anton Webern.”

-
How “Moonrise Kingdom” Fits Into Wes Anderson’s Canon : The New Yorker
