(CLEARLY the theme of this collection was Americuh). This was an experimental sweatshirt. I remember thinking about Value Propositions with this one: Why would people buy from @theradblackkids …well what if we gave them THE HEAVIEST SWEATSHIRT ON EARTH, and called it THE HEAVIEST SWEATSHIRT ON EARTH. Thumb holes to add sauce, 17oz per square foot, when the norm is 8oz or 10oz. This sweatshirt was created with the intention of being the only thing you wore in winter.

I raised the prices for this guy to $120 and it sold out….a few times… specifically the grey colorway!

Not only could he articulate the sensation of the food he ate effectively through the page, but also brought a democracy to food criticism that taught us of various marginalized, under represented segments of the Los Angeles food scene.
The wealth of food isn’t just in price relative to the notoriety of the chef: The wealth of food is painting the elaborate spectrum of who is cooking it, relative to the expansive idea of “who is America” and giving each chef a chance at the American Dream. His writing did that.
