24 weeks! I don’t update this thing much since there’s not too much to say. Since I last updated, we found out we’re having a girl and she moves constantly.

I had an appointment with the midwife today and while she was using the doppler she said she could tell the baby had hiccups. Last night the baby was kicking very rhythmically and I thought it may be hiccups but wasn’t sure. I was told they felt different than kicks but they felt exactly the same. Too cute.

How far along are you, and what is your due date?

I had my first doctor visit today. All they did is check my weight and draw blood to make sure my levels were good. I was told if my levels weren’t what they needed to be that I would need to come in on Thursday to get my blood taken again to see if they’re rising.

Two great things happened today:

1. I got my blood drawn for the first time ever today and it wasn’t as bad as it though it’d be. That’s good since it’s gonna be happening a lot here soon.

2. I got a call a couple of hours after my visit saying that my levels were so good that I didn’t need to come in on Thursday. Instead, I made an appointment for Monday to get my first ultrasound! So excited!!!

One (potentially) bad thing happened:

I found out that my blood is Rh negative. I did some research on it and got way too freaked out so I decided to wait and discuss it with my doctor on Monday. I hope nothing bad happens because of it. Anyone else out there Rh negative?

Searchin' For A Doula

Having the assistance of a doula is one thing that keeps getting recommended to me over and over again. I’m looking at some websites of a few local ones here and they all seem to offer the same services and are about the same price: $600.

This is kind of steep for us, but I know that having one around would be invaluable as my poor husband just wouldn’t know exactly what I need. Did any of you have a doula and would you recommend it? Anything in particular to look for when choosing who to go with?

It was okay, but the rooms were kind of depressing. Drop tile ceilings, 80’s paint colors (peach & lavender ugh), harsh fluorescent lighting, and big puffy faux leather recliners. I walked in the room and said a big “aw, HAAALE NO.” in my mind. The people were nice enough, but I just don’t know if I can deal. The birthing rooms were located in the basement of the building which is creepy enough and there was no natural light/windows at all. Ambiance is big to me and if that’s not right then I am just not going to feel comfortable.

We have an appointment to tour a birthing center at a hospital this week. There are two midwives that deliver there and they allow water births so I am going to check it out to see what it’s like. It sounds great, but once you’re in labor I know things can change and they can push things on you that they said they wouldn’t before.

This is kind of stressing me out. I just want to find a place so I can get my first appointment set up! I keep having that thought in the back of my mind that I’m not even pregnant at all or that something is wrong. I’m really anxious to get that first ultrasound!

We have to go to orientation first to tour the facility, meet the midwives, and ask any questions we have. Once all that is taken care of we then get to set up our first appointment.

I can’t wait to actually get it confirmed and make sure everything is okay. I am so worried something is going to go wrong or that I’m not even pregnant. I took three First Response Early Result tests, one Dollar Store test, and one Clearblue digital and they all said positive, but there’s this fear I have that it will turn out I’m not even pregnant. I have got to stop worrying!

We couldn’t wait and told both of our families the news. The major factor was that my husband’s mom is 70 and this is her first grandchild so he wanted to tell her first and she told everyone, of course. She was excited, but I still worry because it is so early. I am 4 weeks today and am staying positive while worrying about everything at the same time.

Everything happened so fast that I am still trying to grasp it all. I don’t feel any different except for sore boobs, but I’ve had that for a couple of weeks now. I’ve been taking a prenatal for months now and I started tracking my food again to make sure I’m getting enough protein.

I’m really wanting to start working out again but I’m a little nervous. I know that I can just scale back my workouts a bit and should be okay. I’m just really worried with it still being so early.

Oh I see one! Still take another test or fifty though :P thats what I did when I got my first faint line.

I’m currently 11DPO and wasn’t going to test until Monday but I just couldn’t wait any longer. Anyone else see the faint line?! I’m going to test again Monday for sure.

Also, blue dye tests are notorious for giving false positives. Pink dye are way more reliable. I got my positive at 10 dpo with a dollar store test. It was faint, but clear. Then I used the First Response Early Response tests and they were very clear from 11 dpo onwards.

I uploaded the test photo to Countdown to Pregnancy and a lot of the ladies on there said the same thing. The next day I bought some dollar store and First Response Early tests and made sure they were the pink dye ones. I’ve taken a couple of the dollar store ones and one FR and have gotten negatives so I realize the blue dye test was just wonky. Congrats on your positive!

Here’s my BBT chart as of today. I’m taking it as a good sign that my temps are staying up even though I’ve read there should be an implantation dip in there somewhere. Everyone is different though so who knows.

Let me just say, I always wondered why people freaked out over the two week wait. “It’s just a couple of weeks” I’d think to myself. I had no idea. I’m only 7DPO and this has been the longest week of my life. I have been a crazy lady these past few days. Taking tests even though I know they’ll be negative, digging tests out of the trash (why?!), and thinking every little ache and pain is a pregnancy symptom.

I’m glad I have Thanksgiving coming up to take my mind off of testing for a couple of days. This whole TTC thing just engulfs you and makes it impossible to think about anything else.

I’m not sure. I have never done a blue dye test before, but there is a little shadow. Definitely retest. Fingers crossed for ya! :)

I never realized there was a difference in tests. I’m going to go pick up a variety of tests tomorrow. My husband says he doesn’t see anything, but I swear I see a shadow too! It’s still early though. I’m not a patient person though haha :] And thank you!

Here’s the test I took. I posted it on Countdown to Pregnancy and currently have three people saying positive and one saying negative. I know it is super early to test, but I’ve been having spotting, very mild cramping, and sore nipples and I never get anything like this between periods.

I feel like I can kind of see a line, but this is already making me crazy so who knows if I’m tricking myself into seeing something.

Ugh.

Looks like you ovulated on CD16! If you get two more temps above coverline, then you will know for sure. Implantation occurs 6-12 days past ovulation. Good luck! Fingers crossed!

This is my chart for my current cycle. I had that huge temperature increase this morning and also have had very mild cramping, light spotting, and feeling a little nauseous. I might be getting my hopes up about all this and it could be my mind playing tricks on me since this is all I have been thinking about. Does anyone know why I would have such a high temperature this morning? Is that an implantation sign?
