Infected case and death numbers are increasing in Korea.
Too early to tell how serious this is….but dis-infected case (released from hospital) numbers also increasing.

며칠 전에 트윗도 했던 내용인데,
잘못된 영어 공부법으로 인생 낭비하는 거야, 다른 사람들 사정이지, 내 사정이 아니다.
비싸지도 않은 제품 비싸게 사던 말던, 다른 사람들 사정이지, 내 사정이 아니다.

좋지도 않은 제품 비싸게 산 건 누구 탓일까?
자기가 잘못 알고 좋지도 않은 걸 좋다고 잘못 알고 산 거다.
바로 자기 자신 탓이다.

서점이나, 인터넷에… 요즘은 유투브에 온갖 영어 공부법을 볼 수 있다.
그런 방법들이 (이미 수십만명이 아닌 수백만명의 학생이나 영어를 배우고자 하는 사람이 공부했던 방법들이다.) 안 되는데, 그 방식을 따라하는 사람들은 그게 될 거라고 믿고 따라한 것이다.
그런 영어 공부법대로 하라고 강제로라도 시킨 사람이 있을까?
본인 스스로 그런 방법대로 하면 될거라고 믿고 선택해서 한 것이다.

물론 아이들은 부모님이 가르쳐주거나 학교에서 이런 저런 정보를 통해서 얻은 거겠지만서도….
그러나 나이가 이미 20살이 넘어가면, 또는 고등학교를 졸업할 즈음이면, 자기 스스로 세상을 살아가는 방법을 터득해야 한다. 근데, 잘 생각해보자. 초등학교때는 어리니깐 그랬겠지만, 중학교즈음 되면, 부모들은 아이가 어떻게 공부를 하던 이야기하지 않는다. 아닌가?
중학생때, 고등학생때도 부모가 따라다니며, 이렇게 저렇게 공부하라고 따라다니며 시켰다고 주장할텐데…. 다시 생각해보길 권한다.

청소년때 싫어하는 것 중에 손 꼽히는 게 부모님의 간섭이 너무 심하다는 이야기 아닌가?

물론 요즘은 워낙 마마보이(??)가 많아진 시대이다보니, 어떤 경우는 좀 심한 경우가 있을진 모르겠다. 그렇다고 해도 그런 건 일부의 예일뿐이다.

누가 자기 대신 인생을 살아줄 수 있나?

즉, 삶을 살아가는 건 본인이므로–자기 인생이다. 자기 인생. 자기 스스로 헤쳐나가야 한다.

이런 이야기, 아무리 해본들…

평생 안 되는 영어 공부법에 인생을 낭비하며 살아가는 건, 자신의 선택이었다는 걸 깨달을 날이 과연 오긴 올까?
