Reason for Tailgates!

Baseball is coming to a close and Football season is right around the corner…that means we’ve been surrounded by tailgating parties for months now! I have to say that tailgating parties are some of my favorite past times… who doesn’t enjoy a good grilled burger before the game?

I loved getting together with neighbors and friends, I will use practically any excuse to hang out. This weekend is a great excuse! It’s Labor Day weekend! I’m inviting a couple of friends and a few neighbors.

We get together and each of us brings in particular items for the meal. We make the menu beforehand, and when everyone is at my apartment we cook! It’s actually very relaxing. After lunch we go out to the pool and relax and enjoy the sun.

The ABC show the Wipeout has to be one of my favorite “potato” shows. A potato is a show you enjoy watching while being a couch potato. I always get a great laugh from some of the wipe outs on Wipeout.

On August 28th, this Saturday, you can enjoy great art and even better jazz! At Downtown Boulevard and Center Court from 7:30-10:30 p.m. you can walk around and see all the local vendor artists and listen to the jazz trio band!

Personally I think this is one of the best way to enjoy the Palm Beach Gardens. Want to know the best part about this event? It’s FREE of charge! You can enjoy the beauty of the gardens, the art and music all without a cost!

If you need some nourishment, drinks will be served at Center Court and the restaurants around the area will be open!

Do you ever get that feeling that when you’re on the treadmill, you’re like a hamster on a wheel, just going round and round and round?  I know I do!  Unfortunately, that’s the rut we get ourselves into with workout routines.  I decided to change up my routine and do things that I wouldn’t ordinarily do.

Here are my top 3 exercise routines:

1. I started getting up earlier in the morning and going for a walk.  It was hard at first, because I really love that extra hour in bed.  I have a dog, so, there was my incentive!
2. I changed the venue of my workout.  When I didn’t get to the gym, I would choose one of the parks nearby that has a walking trail.  I even felt adventurous one time and actually started running.  That lasted about a tenth of a mile. LOL!
3. I have 2 girls who love to play outside and play crazy games like Dodgeball.  I had never played it before and after about half an hour of NOT getting out of the way of the ball, I called it quits and decided that it would be safer for me to stick to a less painful ways of exercise… biking!

People always mention that Florida isn’t part of the “South.” You don’t see the same things that you would see in the “Southern” states.  But you can’t go as far and say that Florida doesn’t have a little of the South in it.

Toby Keith will be coming to the Cruzan Amphitheater on September 4th! The show starts at 7:00 p.m. Prices are reasonable and you’re sure to have a good time!!
