Enjoy fine Caribbean cuisine at this fun festival!

There are so many fun festivals and events convenient to our apartments in West Palm Beach, FL. One such festival is the 9th Annual Palm Beach Jerk Festival taking place on May 28th! It is a great opportunity to experience jerk cuisine and take in the full Caribbean art and music…all without leaving the United States.If you have not had the chance to try Jerk Cuisine you are definitely missing out. The flavors are truly unique and have long been enjoyed by Caribbean natives and visitors. This year you can spend Memorial Day sampling some of these culinary delights. The Jerk Cookoff Contest is a huge delight for crowd goers. It brings in contestants from across the nation and you get to sample the offerings. Make sure to try try a little bit from each contestant.

If you want to work off those Jerk calories you will definitely want to stick around to listen to this years music lineup. The artists for this year are: Baby Cham, Sanchez, Fab 5 and Black Chiney. Tickets are only $15 for adults and kids get in free.

Right near our Turtle Cove apartments in West Palm Beach, FL is a legendary club which is part of a network of laughs across the United States. Improv has become famous for the performers it has launched as well as the stars it hosts.

This spring, Improv is featuring a number of veteran comedians with years of stand-up behind them. May comes in like a lion with SNL alum Kevin Nealon and his fast-talking, laser-focused barbs on May 4 while fellow alum Jon Lovitz brings his on-the-sly, Critic-al look at society from May 25-27.

The middle of the month had to be cleared out to recover from the blue comedy of Bob Saget on May 11 and 12. The longtime host of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” sheds his family-friendly exterior and unleashes his comedic persona once he hits a comedy club stage with the Improv in Palm Beach being his next target.

No matter what your travel plans are, travel smart.

Our apartment community at Turtle Cove is a great choice not only because of our lush landscaping and resort-style amenities, but also because of our prime West Palm Beach location just minutes away from Interstate 95 and the Palm Beach International Airport.

With students on breaks from school and the weather right for vacations, summer is indeed the time for travel. With the Palm Beach International Airport being less than five miles from our community, it’s no wonder that many residents opt to use that airport. If you’ve got some summer air travel planned, here are a few tips to make your flight go smoothly:

Check in online. You can check in on the airline’s website using your ticket information and actually print your boarding pass from the comfort of home. This will save you a ton of time at the ticket counter.
Pack light and carry on. Especially when traveling in the warmer summer months, your clothes are less bulky, which allows you to pack less. Carrying on bags instead of checking them saves you not only baggage check fees but also the time to check them and retrieve them from the baggage claim.
Arrive early. Give yourself plenty of time to allow for delays and long lines at security and such.

With Earth Day coming up on April 22nd, there’s never been a better time to start examining the ways that you can go green in your stylish Turtle Cove apartment.

There are literally thousands of ways that you can reduce your carbon footprint including conserving water and energy, using canvas shopping bags instead of plastic and opting for energy efficient light bulbs. Another way that you may not have thought of is by using green cleaning solutions.

Clean up even the messiest stains on your carpet.

To keep the carpet in your spacious one or two bedroom West Palm Beach apartment fresh and stain-free, check out some of these simple and cost effective clean-up solutions:

If you spill something greasy on your carpet, sprinkle the area with cornmeal and let it sit for five minutes. Then sponge the area down with a mixture of vinegar and water.
For coffee, tea or cola spills, catch them right away and the stain should come up by just sponging with water. If the stain is set, use a 1:2 vinegar to water solution to sponge it in and rinse and wring out your sponge until all the brown is gone.
For the big problem, red wine, follow these steps: sprinkle the spill with salt and let it sit for 15 minutes. The salt will absorb the spill and turn pink. After brushing or vacuuming the salt away, clean the area with a 1/3 cup vinegar and 2/3 cup water solution.

Our apartment community at Turtle Cove is a great place to live not only because of our numerous amenities like a sparkling pool, massive state-of-the-art fitness center, and shaded playscape for children, but also because of our prime West Palm Beach location.

Turtle Cove is located only seven miles from Clematis Street and the West Palm Beach Waterfront which is the site of SunFest, our city’s biggest, most exciting music and art festival of the year. Attracting people from all over the state of Florida and beyond, SunFest will take place May 2nd through 6th and will feature such huge musical performers as Counting Crows, Wiz Khalifa, Third Eye Blind, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Girl Talk, The Fray, Herbie Hancock and many more.
