Relax, because, in this short tutorial, I will teach you just how to go about it using a simple command to do so.

But before we proceed with the tutorial, here's the reason why you may want to delete your box read and unread messages.

First of all, if you are like me that have used my Gmail to register or subscribe to so many opt-in forms or sites that require email to join and your inbox is littered with promotional and marketing email, then this tutorial is for you.

Secondly, you simply want to keep your inbox clean by deleting all unread emails in your Gmail inbox so you can keep an eye on the important ones.

So, without further ado, here's the step by step procedure on how to search and delete all unwanted unread emails in your Gmail at once.

Step 1: Log into your Gmail account.

Step 2: Type this '(is:unread) inside the search box. It will search and pull up all unread emails for you to filter through.

Step 3: Select or tick 'All' in the first box at the topmost and it will select all the unread box. Click on the trash icon close to the box can and all messages are gone.

FACEBOOK CHATBOX MISSING AND NOT SHOWING NUMBER OF FRIENDS ONLINE? 2017 SOLUTION

Is your Facebook chatbox missing and no longer showing friends who are online on Pc? No problem! You will get it fixed by the time you finish reading this post.

If you are familiar with the Facebook chat box, you will discover that most times when you log in, the chat bar won't show up or display the list of your friends online at that particular time. It has happened to me severally and I bet it's happening to thousands and millions of Facebook users out there, including you, yes you (y). And that's why you are here now.

Well, I have seen the solution to such problem. So, whenever you see that your Facebook chat bar is no longer displaying the list of your online friends on your Pc, do not worry so much. Just follow the instruction below to restore the missing chatbox.

I will show you how to get the solution in Chrome, as well as in Firefox browsers with pictures.

SOLUTION FOR CHROME USERS.

Step 1: Go to your the 3 dot on the topmost right-hand side of your Chrome browser.

Step 2: Click on the 'History' Tab. It will open a new page for you.

Step 3: Locate and click on 'Clear browsing data' at the left-hand side. It will display a box.

Step 4: Go ahead click on the 'Clear browsing data'.

Step 5: Go back to your Facebook page and refresh the page.

That is it. Your Facebook chat box will display the list of your online friends.

ALTERNATIVELY: Use CTRL+H and the History page will appear. The click on 'Clear Browsing data'.

SOLUTION FOR FIREFOX USERS.

Step 1: Click on Firefox wrench box (See pix)

Step 2: Click on 'History' icon.

Step 3: Locate 'Clear Recent History' and click on it.

Step 4: A box will pop up. Just click on 'Clear Now' and puff.

Step 5; Go back and refresh your Facebook page and it will appear.

Protecting you documents with password helps to prevent others from tampering with it. So here is a detailed step by step procedure to protect your documents with password.

INSTRUCTION.

1=> Launch your Ms word processor and locate the word document you want to password. Alternatively, locate your word document in your computer and double click on it.

2=> Locate and click on ''Tools". In the drop down arrow at the end, click on "Option" and then to "Security" as shown in the image below.

HOW I CHANGED MY FACEBOOK TIMELINE PROFILE COVER

If you have migrated to facebook timeline, you will notice that the default timeline profile cover is blank. You may have noticed a small box where you can click to add your own timeline cover. So assuming you have your own cover which you want to use, here's how to add your cover.

11 WAYS TO PROTECT YOUR ATM CARD PIN NUMBER FROM SKIMMERS

In today's article, we will look at the activities of ATM card skimmers on ATM PIN number and how to protect your PIN number from these sharp practices. In my last post, I pointed it out that ATM machine has become an integral part of our daily life; hence some of us cannot do without it. Before reading this post, I'll suggest you read the post on how to protect yourself from Atm machine robbers.

However, one of the downside of using an ATM card is the unethical activities of a group of people often known as card skimmers by some people.(They indulge in sharp practices that are declared by law to be illegal).

These groups of people has stolen countless of people's cash by gaining access to the credit card information of the victims and siphoning or transferring whatever amount or fund attached to the card to their own account. These card skimmers have adopted several means of skimming and ripping people off their hard-earned money, hence this post is aimed at ATM security. These methods can be classified into two categories.

The Offline Method.

AND

The Online Method.

However, in this post, I will discuss the offline method first before the online method. This is because a lot of people make use of their ATM card almost on daily basis more than the online cash transaction.

THE OFFLINE METHOD

One of the many ways these card skimmers steal money is by having access to ATM card. And how would they have access to my card, you asked? Good question.Well, the following are ways and devises these high profiled card skimmers have adopted to steal information from ATM cards.

INSTALLATION OF FALSE CARD READER: This method involves installing a false looking card reader. They steal people's money or get information they want by installing a false card reader on the main ATM machine so people can use theirs instead of the real bank card reader. This device records the PIN number and the card number too. This device is usually installed in the public places etc. I need not tell you what they'll do with such sensitive information, you certainly know. However, this devise is usually rampant in advanced country where there are more techie guys.

INSTALLATION OF A SMALL CAMERA ON THE ATM MACHINE. This is another clever means of stealing money from people's ATM card. This type involves installing a small camera directly opposite the card reader so as to capture all the relevant information they want.

WATCHING YOU FROM BEHIND AS YOU KEY-IN THE NUMBER.

This usually happen when they stand behind you, pretending to come for cash withdrawal. They'll keep an eye on the buttons while you punch the PIN numbers. These guys are so smart that you won't even know that they've taking note of the PIN number you typed.

HOW TO PROTECT YOUR PIN

However, much as there are ways skimmers guys steal card information from their victims, there are also many ways to prevent them from gettin access into your credit card information and stealing your hard-earned money. Listed below are some Atm safety tips and advice. The list is not in sequential order and by no means exhaustive.

(1) Try as much as to be familiar with a particular ATM machine you use frequently so as to know when there's a new installed device on it. If you notice any unusual and or a new device attached to it, leave such machine and use another or alternatively, inquire from the bank for clarification.

(2) Beware of any handbill holder that hangs directly opposite and facing the card reader, it could be a camera. Remember, if it looks too good to be a device, then it's a camera.

(3) Always make use of ATM machine that are installed in a well-lit places so you can see if a new device is installed.

(4) Don't leave your receipt at the machine. Take it, tear it and discard somewhere else.

(5) Don't allow that nicely dressed gentleman with long-tie or that gorgeously dressed beautiful girl to stand behind you whenever you are typing your ATM PIN number. He or she could be a potential skimmer or someone working for them. Save yourself the agonies and stress by politely asking him/her to move away from you.

(6) Memorize your PIN and don't write it anywhere. Some people are in the habit of writing their PIN number in their wallet, phone, or in their jotter/notebook. These group of people when asked replied that they wrote it there to avoid forgetting their PIN. This is totally wrong and unacceptable because one can loose the wallet, phone, or the jotter someday and if it gets to these skimmers, your guess is as good as mine.

(7) Don't use your birth year or your social security number or any number that is openly associated with you as your PIN number. Always use hard-to-guess numbers. ATM PIN skimmers can guess your age and get a matching PIN.

(8) Always change your PIN number constantly. Changing it once or twice in a week will save you from skimmers.Use combination non-sequential numbers. For example, instead of 1234, use 3142 or 2143. Don't disclose your PIN number to anybody, not even to your closest friend, bank staff or anybody requesting such info.

(9) Do not punch you PIN number with only a finger. Use all your fingers; place both palms on top of the key button and punch your PIN number moving all your fingers as this may confuse anybody watching you from behind.

(10) Subscribe to bank alert so as to inform you whenever someone is tampering with your money. Bank alert at least alert you of any or debit transaction as soon as it's carried out. This bank alert has saved a lot of people from skimmers. Make sure to know you bank customer care phone number in the event such a thing occurs.

(11) Inform your bank of the loss or theft of your ATM card immediately so they can disable the PIN from your account immediately.

HOW TO EXTRACT A FILE FROM COMPRESSED ZIPPED FILE

In my last post, I showed you how to compress or zip your files to reduce the size. However, if you want extract files from the compressed zipped folder, you need to do the following. Don't worry, its so simple.

INSTRUCTION TO EXTRACT A SINGLE FILE.

Click open "My Computer" icon to locate the compressed zipped folder

Double click on the folder to open it.

Drag the file inside the compressed folder to any location of your choice. See picture below.

The red circle show a file I want to drag out of the folder. Thats all to extract a single file.
INSTRUCTION TO EXTRACT ALL FILES FROM ZIPPED FILE.

If you have more than one file in the compressed folder, then simply right click on the folder and click on "Extract all".

HOW TO COMPRESS OR ZIP LARGE FILES FOR FAST DELIVERY ONLINE

If you are a Gmail or Yahoo mail user, you may have probably noticed that Gmail and Yahoo allow one send files of 25mb each as at the time of making this post.

But what if you want to send files that are larger than the 25MB, lets say 2GB, what will you do since they don't allow files of that size? Well, am going to show you a trick on how to attach and sending large files of up to 2GB.

Well, the trick is no other than to Compress or Zip the Files. So when you compress or zip the files, you are in effect reducing the size. So if you want to save large files comprising pictures, music, video, text in PDF or in MS word format, you should first of all compress or zip the files. This will reduce the files size and makes it easier to upload.

Ready to compress your files, here is a detailed step to creating a compressed files.

1=>.Open the directory where the files you want to compress the are located (either in Desktop or in My Document).

2=>Create a new folder by right clicking on your mouse, move the mouse to "New" in the menu that comes up and select "Folder".

3=>You can rename the folder to any name you want by right clicking and selecting "Rename" in the menu box.

4=>After renaming the folder, simply drag and drop all the files you want to compress into the new folder. To drag and drop the files, just place your on the file, click and hold down the left mouse, drag it to the new folder and release your left mouse. Repeat this steps until you've dragged all your files.

5=>Right click on the the folder and locate "Send to" option in the menu box.

6=>Place your pointing cursor on the "Send to" and you will see "Compressed or Zipped folder. click on it.

7=>Search through your documents to locate the file you just compressed. The file will either looked like it has a zipper on the body or like a book binded together.

That's all. You have successfully created a compressed or zipped file which you can now send as email attachment.

YAHOO MAIL ATTACHMENT NOT LOADING: HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM

Few days ago, I made a post on how to attach files to yahoo mail. But there’s something I realized in addition to some comments/complain from our esteemed readers. I have observed that the attached files can not load or it’s taking longer to load despite the fact that the size of the file is below the 25MB size limit as specified by Yahoo.

I equally checked my internet connection and discover that the problem is not from there. I think the new Yahoomail! is still in beta stage hence the problem of uploading attachment has not been rectified. I will submit feedback to them later in the day using the feedback tab. So, how did I attach my file quickly without hassle of waiting endlessly for the file to be uploaded?

Well, I quickly login into one of my yahoo mail account so as to find a way of rectifying this problem and I discover that I have not yet switched to the new yahoo mail account.

My account was still in Yahoo Classic. So in other to test if its taking long to attach a file, I quickly attached a file almost in the same way I did in my previous post and within seconds, My files was attached. So, in this post, I will show you how I was able to do that.Follow the steps below.

1) Login into your yahoo account the normal way.

2) Save any of this two links or both below in your draft folder. Just save the draft with whatever name you like. See the image below.

3) Right click or press CTRL + Click to go to Yahoo mail Classic whenever you want to send an attachment.

I have personally verified those two links. Both are pointing to yahoo mail classic and it’s always easy to load attachments fast.

Please, use this method anytime you want to switch-over to Yahoo mail Classic. So, save those links in a in a secured place. Am still checking for a permanent method of switching over to Yahoo mail classic.

HAUWEI MODEM:HOW TO CREATE PROFILES FOR MTN, ZAIN, GLO, ETISALAT 3G HAUWEI USB MODEM

In my last post, I showed you how to unlock your 3g Hauwei USB modem by using the code generated by the free software I gave you. So in this post, I will show you how to create a profile so you can use any SIM card of your choice in the event of poor service multiple SIM card.

This tutorial is so important, so pay attention and asks me questions if you are confused. I’ve tried as much as I can to keep it simple and straight to the point with my usual pictorial style of tutoring. So, let’s move ahead in creating a profile for each of the SIM card. Assuming you have gotten your unlock code, here is how;

1) Insert any SIM card other than the default SIM and click on “Tools ==> Option ==> Profile Management”. See the image below.

2) On the “Profile Management”, Click “New” and fill the following data for each network and save

3) Fill the space with the following;

MTN	GLO	ZAIN	ETISALAT
Profile Name: MTN	Profile name: Glo	Profile Name:Zain	Profile name: etisalat
APN: web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net	APN: flat	APN:internet.ng.zain.com	APN: etisalat

4) To connect the network, simply select any network profile name you want through the drop down arrow. In my own case, I selected Zain from the drop down menu and the network was detected.See the image below. That's all, you have successfully created your network profile using multiple SIM card in one Hauwei Modem.

Do you have a Hauwei USB internet modem? Do you know you can actually unlock it and use different network providers at anytime i.e. make it universal?

Well, if you have one and have been using it without unlocking it, then you are missing the real show. In this post, I will show you how to unlock your modem with free software and also teach you how to configure the modem to make use of other network providers other than the specific network provider that own such Hauwei USB internet modem data card.You can use this guide to unlock your MTN Fastlink Hauwei Modem, GLO Modem, Zain/Airtel Modem and make it universal.

But before I proceed with the tutorial, you may want to know the reason of unlocking the modem. Well, all Hauwei USB internet modems are always locked to the network providers that own such modem. This simply means that you cannot use a SIM card from another network provider to access the net from the locked modem. It’s solely made for a particular network provider hence you can only access the net via the same network. But if you unlock the modem, you can insert any SIM card of your choice network provider to access the net. Here are some reasons why it’s necessary for you to unlock the Hauwei Modem;

· You will be able to use multiple SIM card from different network providers.

· You will be able to access the internet whenever your service providers are having network problem or are offline.

· It will save you some bucks if you discover that your network provider’s subscription bundles are high thus inserting SIM card from another provider.

· Eliminate the need to buy another modem; buy one and use it on different networks.

· Use any network SIM card in areas where your network provider has no network coverage.

The benefit of unlocking you Hauwei modem is enormous. So having known the reason of making the modem universal, let’s see how to unlock it. By the following steps by step, you will unlock your Hauwei modem in 3 minutes

1) Click here to download the software in you computer (I recommend you save it in your desktop for easy access). This is the icon that will display on your desktop as soon as you save it.

2) Double click on the icon and it will display “Run” button. Just click to run the software. This is how the software will look like when it loads. See the image below.

3) Enter the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identification). The IMEI number is always at the back of the modem closer to the SIM apartment. See image below.

4) Select your modem type by clicking on the displayed types above; ZTE, NEC, NOKIA, LG, HAUWEI, VK. See the image below.

5) Select you Hauwei type from the dropdown arrow or leave it in “AutoSelect” if you don’t know the Hauwei type.

6) Click on calculate, wait for some seconds and it will generate the unlock code for you. See the 2 images below. Just copy down the code and save it somewhere safe, we will use it is step 7.

7) Remove the SIM card of the original modem and insert a different SIM card from another Gsm network provider and it will prompt you to enter the unlock code. Just enter the unlock code you generated in step 6 and click ok, wait for some seconds and you will display a message that your modem has been unlocked. See the image below.

That’s all; you’ve successfully unlocked your Hauwei USB Modem.

Please note that you have only 10 attempts to unlock the modem, so be very careful of the unlock code you input.

In my next post, I will show you how to create a profile so as to be able to access the internet with the newly unlocked modem, so be sure to bookmark this site and return always so as not to miss the post.

Meanwhile, below is a table that list out all the supported Hauwei modem this software can unlock. Check if your model number is among the list of the models in that table. If your model number is not there, then don’t bother using this software to generate code as it will not give you the correct code.

HOW TO ATTACH FILES TO YAHOO MAIL

Am sure we all know what email is. Well, for the benefit of those that doesn’t know what it is, eMail basically means Electronic Mail hence the derivative e for electronic and the mail. Email is a system or a method of exchanging digital/paperless message from one person usually the author to one or more recipients.

Email allow users to send not only composed message to recipient(s), but files like pictures, videos, audios, documents in MS Word or PDF format, as well as spread sheet. Infact, you can send anything you want as long as it is in digital format to someone in any part of the world provided there is internet connection there.

So, having known what email is all about and its uses, this is how to attach files. Follow these steps.

1) Login to your yahoo mail account; sign up here if you don’t have one.

2) Type in your message in the box if you want.

3) Select “Attach files” (the button look like a paper clip icon) on the yahoo compose dashboard. See the image below.

4)You will be presented with a window in your computer where the file you want to attach is saved. Take a look at the image below and you will see that the file I want to attach is saved in "Desktop".If the file is not there, just click on any other icon e.g "My Recent Documents" until you locate the file.

5) Locate the file and click on it. E.g, blackberry is the name of the file and the moment I clicked on it, it displays in the "File name" block. After that, click on "Open". See the image below.

6) On clicking on the "Open" button above, it will take you back the yahoo mail page where it will upload the selected files. This usually take some time to upload the files depending on the size of the file/image/audio/video, so exercise patient. See the image below. Notice the spinning at the tip of the arrow, it's been uploaded.

7) Repeat step 3 and 4 to add all your files to be attached.

8) Click on “Send” button as soon as you see the uploaded files under the “Subject” block of the email. Mine is "Blackberry image".

That’s all.

Please note that the maximum files you can send at a go is 25MB. If your files exceed this MB, yahoo will present an error notification for you.

He was furious and pressed the resend button again, and he got the same notification. Out of frustration, he quickly checked his airtime balance only to discover that he has exhausted the airtime hence he won’t be able to make or send sms. He started sweating, the job is about to elude him.

Well, such is the typical issue faced by a lot of people today. So, if you ever find yourself in such similar situation and don’t know what to do, just relax cos am about to show you a solution to this problem. You can actually send sms/text messages for free without given a hoot to your networking provider. Introducing CHATSMS.

ChatSMS is a facebook app that enables facebook users to send sms to their friends worldwide.

HOW TO USE FACEBOOK CHATSMS

1) Simply login to your facebook account

2) Visit Chatsms or click here.

3) Use the dropdown arrow to select your country from list. See the image below.

4) Select your friend’s country code followed by the phone number. See the image below.

5) Type your SMS (100 letters only).

6) Done typing, hit the send SMS button and your SMS is sent to the recipient.

Have you ever seen a Facebook status update that displays the location of the person? In most cases, you will see something like ''near Canada, Kabul, Libya or something like '' at Afghanistan, at Tripoli, at Los Angeles.'' If you have seen it and keep wondering how possible it is or you haven't seen it before, then relax and read the trick behind.

Some days ago, I updated my facebook status and it displayed that I updated my status near California in USA. After 10mins, a friend commented on the update and was angry with me that I left the country without informing him. I was surprised to hear that and it took me 2 hours to convince him that am still in Nigeria. So, I've decided to show you guys how to add location in this post. Also, you can also use this trick to prank your friends. Read the posts on Bluejacking and Update your Facebook status via Nokia 3310.

i) Login into your facebook account on your computer.

ii) Move your mouse to the update box and you will see a location. In my own case, it displays Washington to me. See the image below. You can change it to any country you like. Just click on it an type any location or country of your choice.

iii) Type in your update and hit the ''Post'' button. This is how your message will appear in your profile wall. See the image below.

But, if you click on ''Where are you'' text, (see the black arrow in the image), this is how it will look in your wall.

The difference between the two is that the first one was updated ''near Washington DC''

while the second one shows that the update was made in Tripoli International Airport.

MTN SIM CARD REGISTRATION: HOW TO FIND OUT IF YOUR SIM HAS BEEN REGISTERED

Its no longer news that the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) last year 2010 directed all the mobile network service providers to ensure the registration of all the Subscribers Identification Module (SIM) of users in their network; an exercise aimed at reducing the increasing rate of crime in the country.

Also, it's no longer news that September 28th, 2011 is the deadline the FG gave those that are yet to comply to the directives or have their SIM card blocked. But one challenge a lot of people are facing now is that they don't know how to check if their Sim card has been registered or not.

The reason for this palpable fear is that some claimed they didn't receive any confirmation sms, others said that due to poor network connection on the day of registration, they are not sure if they were they successful registered or not. Yet, others said that even when the operator assured them of successful registration, they were not still be able to make use of the SIM card as it kept telling them to go to a nearby reg.center and register their SIM.So if you are one of those facing these challenges, relax cos your worries are close to their end.

Well, I figured out how to check if your Sim card has been registered or not hence this post. Just follow the instruction, and in a minute or two, you will know your Mtn Sim registration status.

INSTRUCTION

Simply grab your mobile phone and type ''Reg'' ( without the quote) and send to 789 and you will receive instant message informing you the Mtn Sim registration status of your Sim card. Here is the code again.

Type Reg as sms and send to 789.

Here is the unedited instant message I received the moment I sent mine;

From: SimReg: 2348036611xxx has been registered. Thank you!

So, what are you waiting for? Send yours today and tell us what reply you got. I must state here that this Sim registeration verification trick is important so as to know the status of your Sim card. This is because you might be thinking that your Sim card has been registered whereas it hasn't. But if you carry out this simple test, you will be able to know, and, if it hasn't been registered, you can use this few remaining days to get yours registered before the deadline.

HOW TO SEND FREE TEXT MESSAGES/SMS VIA BLUETOOTH

In my last post, I showed you how you can prank someone by using your phone Bluetooth, a practice that is commonly referred to as Bluejacking. In today's post, I will show you other usefulness of your mobile phone Bluetooth and its applications.

Do you know you can send text message/sms via your mobile phone Bluetooth? Well, I have been using this to send sms to my friends or notify someone of something without the knowledge of other people sitting around.

So, sit back and relax because am going to show you how simplify and easy this is and the interesting part of method is that it is free, it doesn’t require credit unlike the normal traditional way of sending sms which costs some bucks. So without wasting much time, let’s see how this can be done.

1. Goto your organizer, select “Notes”

2. Press Add and start typing your message (up to 3000 alphabets can be typed). Save after your note after typing.

3. To send the Note, simply press the option button and you will see among other options “Send note”, press it and you will be presented with two options- Send as text message and Via Bluetooth.

4. Just select Bluetooth and send, and that’s all, your message is sent.

Please note that the receiver must power-on his Bluetooth and should be within 10 meters to be able to receive the message/sms.

Tip! Always switch-off your mobile phone Bluetooth and switch it on only when you want to receive file from a known source as someone may send a virus to your phone.

WHAT IS BLUEJACKING: HOW TO PRANK SOMEONE WITH YOUR MOBILE PHONE

In todays post, I will show you how to prank someone by using your bluetooth-enabled mobile phone. The act of pranking someone using Bluetooth is known as Bluejacking. I guess you know what Bluetooth is.

Well, let me give you an overview of what Bluetooth is. Bluetooth is an open wireless technology standard that enables exchange of data/files over a short distance usually 10 meters. If you have ever received music, pictures, phone application on your mobile phone from someone, chances are you got those aforementioned files through Bluetooth.

So without wasting much time, lets see how we'll Bluejack someone through Bluetooth.

1. Goto your mobile phone contact and press ''add new contact''

2. Enter the prank words you want to send to the person in the name box. You can also type more in the ''Last name'' box, leave the column for ''Mobile number empty. Save it as contact. See the table below. In the box is the sample of a prank/bluejack I sent to a friend via bluetooth.

3.Open the contact you saved and press ''details'' followed by ''options''. See image below.

4. Scroll down till you see ''send business card''. See image below.

5. In the ''option'', select Bluetooth and send. As soon as you sent it, it will start searching for available Bluetooth around and on presenting it to you, simply select the username you want, press send and that's all, it will get to the person. See the image below.
