Just wondering...suppose in some miraculous twist of fate, Fringe's episodes are just spectacular stories, and manage to somehow increase (maybe even double) its viewers (and rating). Would Fox then renew it for another season?

So the older one gets and the more life experience one aquires the less likely they are to watch "liberal" news.
No wonder Dems have to keep going after the "youth" vote every four years.

Geez. Even a ROE repeat got better ratings than shows on the other networks, and CBS is canceling it? Sometimes I wonder about the shows on CBS. Not all of them are great, but they all seem to pull in the ratings somehow. I wonder how some of those programs would rate if they aired on NBC or ABC instead.

Good morning, Jeff, or as certain people (?) here call you, “Jeffie”. Although those people (?) try hard to goad me into responding, it ‘ain’t gonna happen,’ try as they will. I don’t communicate with low cog. individuals, well, I take that back, I would, if they were kind, decent people, not prone to nastiness and name calling. You are my mentor, as I try to develop skin as thick as yours. I’ll keep trying, Jeff.

I've never even called Jeff "Jeffie" and your mentor called me a prick,,maybe it's because I'm a low cog. individual..

Why doesn't NBC move DAYS to a different time slot so it doesn't broadcast at the same time as Y&R and B&B? This soap surely cannot survive in its present status. GH is another soap that is in a stupid time slot and NEVER will reach 2.5 million. Y&R and B&B have the obvious soap edge and when they are the only two left, they might been able to eek out several more years.

@Jeff

@b, newsbusters not credible news source and known propaganda right wing rag.
________________________________________________________________________

Does this mean all your cut and past posts from media matters are not credible as well?

On the first Romney lie from your cut and paste post of Rachael Maddow's Blog "1. At a campaign stop in Craig, Colorado, this week, Romney argued, “The president, when he got elected, he said, look, ‘I’m going to go out and borrow $787 billion and I’ll keep unemployment below 8 percent.’”

"Romney says this just about every day. It’s not true."

Is this because Chririna Romer,,Obama's former chief economist said it laying out the benefits of the stimulas plan,,so technically Pres Obama never said it,,unless you think he is responsible for the claims made by key members of his administration,,selling his policies..Hard to tell if this is why Romney is lying,,because the blog dosen't explain why these are lies,,it just proclaims them so...

Melanie, Nice to see you back. You were missed around here.

Jay, We must have been posting at the same time last night.

Jay, Any thoughts on why Berman would switch from his usual practice of reporting the rating number to reporting the viewers in the demo for his AMC/The Chew comparison?

My theory is that the compairsons were dramatic enough in the numbers this week so he compared viewers? But I have not see all the numbers in key demos for The Chew -- so I don't know.

I could do without another Reba McEntire show, but The Neighbors certainly seems amusing. I’ll definitely give it a shot, especially since it’ll be recorded on my DVR automatically anyway with the PrimeTime Anytime feature. Plus, as one of my coworkers at Dish pointed out to me, the Hopper now has the Auto Hop feature, which gives me the option to skip the commercials on the PrimeTime Anytime recordings—CBS, NBC, ABC, and FOX. It’s definitely convenient, and I don’t feel like I’m going to get some kind of repetitive stress injury from constantly smashing the Skip Forward button on my remote. Well, unless I end up skipping through the show to see if it gets better, but hopefully The Neighbors won’t drive me to that.

Touch to do less-badly in live+SD, Fringe to overtake it in +7 DVR numbers, and the January schedule on Fox will be an all-Ramsey affair. As will the fall 2013 schedule.

It's a shame The CW promoted Supernatural to Wednesdays, as we could have seen them push Fox to #6 (Univision will beat both). Now that would have been quite something for the "#1" (air quotes because it's only the 10pm hour that pushes CBS down) network.

@Clarke
I totally agree with you about Y&R. I have also been enjoying it lately. Ricky is just totally creepy, but I do like Phyllis with all of her flaws though. This is a very interesting storyline IMO. I liked seeing Danny and Cricket together again, nice blast from the past! I also thought it was funny when Victor found out about Billy and Sharon hooking up (the night before of his wedding to Chloe), then Victor asked her to "kindly show herself out" of his house and walked right by her, LOL. I do not want them together! Way too much of an ick factor considering she is the mother of his grandkids.

I too am impressed with B&B. It quietly holds its own without much fanfare. Just wish Liam would hurry up and choose between Hope and Steffy, I too am tired of that s/l. Should get even more interesting since Deacon is about to show up though.

I think Days and GH are the most talked about since their ratings haven't been super great lately. Yes, they have made small gains here and there, but everyone is on their toes wondering their futures.

 Good morning, Jeff, or as certain people (?) here call you, "Jeffie". Although those people (?) try hard to goad me into responding, it 'ain't gonna happen,' try as they will. I don't communicate with low cog. individuals, well, I take that back, I would, if they were kind, decent people, not prone to nastiness and name calling. You are my mentor, as I try to develop skin as thick as yours. I'll keep trying, Jeff.
@Jonny
"Democrats listen to facts. Republicans listen to fox news." Hello, Jonny, I like your style. I hope you come and join the handful of Dems, Libs, lefties who post here. We could use good people like you. Later.

So today NBC doesn't start coverage until noon (East coast). Does that mean that they'll be doing delayed broadcasts? Does it also mean that the usual jabber-jaw commentators will be spoiling our viewing pleasure with incessant and mostly irrelevant analysis. Please, NBC, take a cue from ESPN and have some respect for tennis fans or, better yet, just leave tennis coverage to those who do it right.

Read it and weep via the link below. This is only the beginning for MSNBC as it continues to lose altitude not only in its legitimacy, but ultimately in its survival. Where CNN is just a tax write-off not unlike Newsweek and The NYT, NBCU will eject MSNBC as not just a financial failure but as a terminal millstone around the neck of there already anemic Nightly News division...

As a huge history buff I was really excited to watch this and see the talent of our younger generation! How SAD I was to see the tournament marred by such poor choices of questions and poor talent! Why would a history bee include questions about TV shows like Mash and American Bandstand or musical groups like Queen and the Beatles?! This isn't an MTV pop culture bee it's a HISTORY bee!! Of course the kids got the pop culture questions right, but couldn't come up with the name of the group who's revolt is commemorated by Hanukah!

Good show. It does remind me of Lost Girl where the lines between the "good" side and the "bad" side are pretty blurry. Most conventional shows would have the protagonist being the anti-corporate rebel fighting against "the man". Interesting to see things flipped around, hope the ratings stay up.

Touch is a walking corpse. I doubt it will last til the holidays. As far as Fringe ratings go, no one - not haters or crazy fans - gives a spit. It's going to finish out its final order no matter what, and that's that. Ratings are irrelevant.

@Bumfuzzled
The 70?s? Really?

I was snarking on your delusional fantasy that scripted programming will (or can) replace reality.

I have no opinion on the quality of Duets, but it's ridiculous to think that a possible alternative is new scritped programming.

Oh go back under the rock you crawled out from under, Hack. Your predictions about "FRINGE" have been wrong for the past 2 years, from your "it will sink below 1.0 and lower," to your "predictions" that the show would be canceled after seasons 3 and 4. You have no merit in anything related to the show any more!

Clearly, "FRINGE's" fan base has settled in the low 1's of the demo, and that's where it will STAY for its final season. And none of us "FRINGE" fans expect or will be talking about a sixth season, except maybe that nutjob Bondoel or his other pseudonyms. Warner Brothers wanted a full 22-episode fifth season, but FOX gave them 13 to get them to the more lucrative 100+ episode total for strip syndication, where the show has already gotten a deal to air on Science, so they accomplished their goal. We have no delusions about a sixth season, or even a back-9 order, so shut your trap and stop speaking about that which you know not of!!

Harry's Law is cancelled? Really? We loved the eclectic group of attorney's and clients. Guess being over 29 doesn't work any more. We will really miss this show

And another thing, Fox and Friends is over at 6am west coast time. All those network shows are rebroadcast in mountain and pacific so the rating are higher because in the mountain and pacific zones, we don't see fox and friends.

"Looking at these numbers, I think Mike is right, or at least close. The numbers are sinking"

Yes, they sank to a 10-week high.

Now, for Mike to be right, Jay has to dive nearly 20% in the demo or 16% in viewers for a week of new episodes in the final 25 days of June. Even though the lead-ins have not weakened much, and he is unopposed by Dave on Fridays. Will it be next week with Emma Stone and Tom Cruise? You never know, but I don't like the chances.

The final week of June is probably reruns due to Wimbledon. That leaves 2 weeks in the middle, one of which could have NHL overrun exclusions.

Anything can happen, but I'm very comfortable on the other side of the bet.

More people have Free tv then cable or dish. So free news is higher. But look at the Evening News rating. Down down down, one because of cable and two because people are sick of the Media coverups for liberal. Look at Fast and Furious, never covered by the Networks.

SA/OKC's ratings are impressive the track record for the Spurs in ratings has never been too good.

Good to see Men at Work doing well for TBS.

Thank god Pauly D was a complete flop!

Seeing TNA's ratings are depressing they were live and the episode was better than anything the WWE was putting out there. The problem is some WWE fans are so selfish to live with a really bad product instead of checking out the one the one that's way better than it right now.

I think TNA shouldn't move up that early because the 10pm hour is crucial to driving up viewers.

I am finding Days to be very enjoyable and am especially relishing the mystery surrounding "who is out to get Stefano?" Days deserves to rise in the ratings for sure!

I find GH unattractive anymore.
