Britains Got Talent – Shadow Theatre Act

It has to be stated pretty early on that I absolutely love this Shadow Theatre Act, simply because it has everything – competent, interesting and well-acted choreography, beautiful movement and also a feeling that you are really watching something special the entire time. There is a story which is incredibly moving and well presented and at the end of it all you will definitely believe that you have witnessed something great and the judges agree too of course. This is certainly one act that will go far on Britain’s Got Talent in my opinion as it has all you could want when watching the show.

Jack Carroll with his own comedy style

Sometimes in life you get thrown a curve ball, just like the plucky Jack Carroll who is 14 years old here in the first week of Britain’s Got Talent auditions as it is obvious that being a wheelchair he has not had it easy at all but the unique thing about him is that he has come out of it with a fantastic sense of humour. Even though he pokes fun at himself a lot you know that he is certainly talented and he has definitely turned some of his weaknesses into strengths and here he really looks like he is enjoying himself and I am too, along with the studio audience and the judges of course.

Francine Lewis with her many impressions

Francine Lewis is a woman who in my opinion is both talented and has a future, with a past too as she has been doing impressions since she was about 6 years old. According to her personal website she has appeared on around 20 shows over the years and even though I have not seen her before she is one that will probably go a long way on Britain’s Got Talent because as you will see from this clip she is pretty good and there are several women from her act that you will recognize as she definitely does a good job.

Shirley & James singing ‘You Are Not Alone’

At first when you watch this mother and son combination you will be thinking they should probably be leaving the stage sharpish but hold on for a moment as you will soon find out that they are more of a comedy duo than a terrible twosome as things get much better when the son starts singing. Perhaps you will be thinking that the comedy sideshow is not needed but sometimes on Britain’s Got Talent I certainly have to admit that singing acts do become stale rather quickly and so the interesting break is definitely something welcome from my point of view, the judges definitely seemed bemused too at least.

The Duelling Pianos play and get everyone involved

Sometimes there are acts on Britain’s Got Talent that at first you might not like that much and then you definitely warm up to them later on and this is one of those with The Duelling Pianos playing both at the same time which got everyone in the audience and the judges slowly involved. They were a lot of fun and I can see them surviving for a while in the competition but probably not going all the way. Some of the judges liked them and some didn’t but the crowd warmed up to them nicely which means that they do have some support to keep going.

Aaron Crow shows off his blindfolded sword skills

If there was one performance this week I really enjoyed it was Aaron Crow who was showing off some of his sword skills blindfolded in front of the shocked TV audience and the judges on Britain’s Got Talent. Not sure that Ant did though as Aaron put a pineapple on his head then proceeded to cover his face in candle wax (this is something which you should definitely not try at home!) then bandage his head fully before picking up the samurai sword and then chopping the fruit in half much to the relief of Ant who to be fair looked pretty scared the whole time. The judges enjoyed the performance and I have to admit it was awesome.

Robbie Kennedy with his acoustic guitar singing ‘Iris’

I love a Goo Goo Dolls song as much as the next man and here is Robbie Kennedy with his acoustic guitar giving a rendition of the much lauded Iris to the Britain’s Got Talent judges and audience. It looks like that he is definitely going to have a future on the show as the brick-layer is certainly talented, not sure if he will go the whole way but for sure he has as about as much chance as the rest of them at the moment time will certainly tell. The judges agreed as all four judges gave him the thumbs up.

Union J sing Taylor Swift’s Love Story

I have to admit that Union J were definitely a lot better this week than last, they were mediocre at best and really had to pull it out of the bag this time round and I think that they managed to do just that and here they are singing Love Story by Taylor Swift. Just like Gary I believe that they are the best group still left in the competition and the likes of District 3 have a long way to go if they are going to catch up with them in terms of lasting the length of the series because there are a lot better acts out there right including including those such as Ella Henderson, James Arthur and Jahmene Douglas.

District3 sing Taio Cruz’s Dynamite

I am not really a huge fan of District3 to be honest, they just seem like another carbon copy of One Direction, the band that Simon Cowell and the others are more than happy to churn out each series and here they are singing Dynamite by Taio Cruz, a song that originally was sang by one person and did not seem to gel properly this week with their rendition falling short of the mark once again this week. They must have a following to keep staying in the competition week after week but perhaps they will be gone after tonight’s results show.

Christopher Maloney sings Eric Carmen’s All By Myself

It is certainly no secret that Christopher Maloney is the one that really divides opinion on this series of X-Factor, some people thing he is a sham “Baloney Maloney” and is making up his nerves to garner attention and support and others think that he is a solid performer that definitely deserves to stay in the competition even if he does not seem to set the world alight at the same time. He is the Marmite of this years shows and here he is performing All By Myself that was originally a track by Eric Carmen so decide for yourself whether you are going to vote for him or not.
