Hi, I'm new to these but I bought a bucket from Ikea anyway. Do you iron on the beads or on those plastic cards? Like to try them out.

"Forrest M. Mims III freaked me out a bit when he commented on the post - he notes that he taught his son to solder when he was 4 years old!"

True, I taught Eric to solder when he was only four. He's now a network administrator at a university.

More important than teaching soldering is making sure your children do at least one serious science project before they leave the roost. Our three children did this faithfully every year and earned dozens of major science fair awards. All three have since told me that this was the most important part of their education.

@Sharpay - I think you do need to use the special paper when ironing the beads unless you have an old iron that will not be used for clothes. The beads can melt to the point where they will stick to the iron.
