With the new Twitter API 1.1 requirements and improvements, Tweepi got a new upgrade to comply with the new restrictions as well as an awesome new Bio Search feature. The “Follow by Tweet search” Premium feature can now load 75 tweets to be analyzed rather than just 50.

New Follow by Bio Search tool

A new improvement of the Twitter API adds the user search feature. Tweepi Premium Platinum users can now search for public Twitter users by bio, topic of interest, full name, company name, location, or other similar criteria.

“Load stats” button and columns deactivated

With the new rate limiting introduced with Twitter’s API 1.1, we can no longer offer the stats feature. This feature and the stats columns have been deactivated. The button is now “Load Klout” to load Klout scores for the visible users.

More tweets loaded per tweet search page

The Follow by tweet search tool now loads 75 tweets per page instead of just 50. That should help our users select new users to follow faster.

We’re working on more exciting features… to be introduced soon!

In a nutshell, you have Twitter friends (people you follow) and followers (people following you). The "Unfollow" feature unfollows users you are currently following. The "Force Unfollow" feature forces a user who is currently following you to unfollow you.

Our latest Tweepi Premium feature is the “Force to Unfollow you” feature.

In a nutshell, you have Twitter friends (people you follow) and followers (people following you). The “Unfollow” feature unfollows users you are currently following. The “Force Unfollow” feature forces a user who is currently following you to unfollow you.

Why do I need it?

This feature was requested on several occasions by users who have undesirable people following them with bad profile images or just all with the default “egg” photos, and they wish to force these users to unfollow them to maintain their brand’s image at a certain standard.

How do I access the “Force Unfollow” tools?

Tweepi Premium Silver and Platinum users can access these tools from their dashboards.

You can simply see a list of all the users following you:

or use the more specific tools under the “Force Unfollow Tools” section:

For more information about Tweepi Premium, please visit our package selection and more information about Tweepi Premium pages.

We are excited to announce our latest feature: Queued following and unfollowing. This feature was added to minimize the time you need to do all follow/unfollow tasks through Tweepi. It was designed to be a great time saver!

What is it?

When you select users and click follow/unfollow, you will see that the status next to those users will change to “Queued for un/following”. This indicates that our servers will process it regardless on which page you are, within a minute or two. This feature was added so that you can select a large number of users for following, from each page, navigate back and forth to different pages without waiting at all. All following/unfollowing will be done in the background.

How do I know the status of those actions?

You will get a blue bubble at the bottom-right corner of your browser once each action goes through. The “Last action” in yellow will also be updated.

Try it out. It’s available for both Tweepi Free (for the moment) and Tweepi Premium accounts.

Don’t forget to share your thoughts and feedback with us!

Amongst its other benefits, Twitter could technically be a natural complement to your site and an effective way to gain some additional spots on organic search engine results pages (SERPs), helping your website and its content get noticed. So how can you best leverage your Twitter account for search? Here are 5 tips to help you get started:

1. Use Your Real Name Wisely:

Your Twitter “real name” is perhaps the most important thing you can set on your Twitter profile. It appears in the title tag for both your Twitter profile and your individual tweet pages. It’s highly searchable, and it’s something that will appear in Google’s link to your profile.

This means you need to make sure your real name is both relevant to you, a keyword people are likely to search for, and something that will make people want to click.

Here, it’s very essential to note that your Twitter “real name” doesn’t have to be your actual name, unlike with Facebook. Instead, it can be virtually anything as long as it comes in under the 20-character limit Twitter imposes.

2. Utilize Your Username Effectively:

As in the case with your real name, your Twitter username is crucial content that will be displayed in the title of your Twitter profile page and, in some cases, your individual tweet pages. Also like your real name, it can be anything you want as long as it comes in under the 15-character limit Twitter places on usernames.

It is best to use this space wisely with an easily remembered, keyword-rich Twitter username that will get the attention of anyone searching for related keywords. This may seem like an impossible task since fifteen characters certainly isn’t a lot to work with, but a few quick Google searches for keywords related to your site can reveal what kinds of Twitter handles are ranking well, giving you a template for success.

3. Invest in Your Bio:

Whether you use Twitter for business or other, take a good look at your Twitter bio and ask yourself “Will someone reading my bio want to follow me?” and if yes, then ask “Will that follower be the kind of person I wish to attract?”

No one relevant will follow you if they don’t know who you are and no one will know who you are if you don’t tell them succinctly. So work on developing a unique and attractive Twitter bio.

Here are some Twitter Bio Don’t for you:

Don’t copy paste a longer than 160 character bio from somewhere else. Bios that are cut off mid-sentence are sloppy, unprofessional and irritating.

Don’t write something in the bio that has nothing to do with you.

Don’t throw out a challenge. “Follow me if you dare.” Umm, no thanks, I’m not that daring.

Don’t leave it blank. Self explanatory.

Don’t use clichés, jargons or buzzwords. They make you sound fake, insincere and a possible spammer.

Don’t mix languages unless your audience understands both. It’s annoying enough when you start following someone whose username is in English but who tweets in another tongue!

Click here for some more tips for writing short and compelling Twitter bios.

4. Be Smart – Link in Style:

To be noticed on search engines, your Twitter profile needs the same thing any other site needs: lots of links. Link to your profile everywhere you can, and do so with strong keywords in the anchor text.

How does this work? Athough your Twitter profile is closely related to your site, it is hosted on a different domain, meaning you can pass along a great deal of trust to it from your site. This makes your links to it much more valuable.

You can further this benefit by encouraging others to link to your Twitter profile as well, such as including it in an author byline when you do guest blogging, which will improve the amount of authority it receives from search engines.

5. Keep Your Tweets Focused:

While it’s certainly fine to have some fun with your Twitter account and vary your tweets every once in a while, you need to try and stay focused and regularly publish tweets that are on-topic and keyword-rich.

It’s important to keep in mind that your main Twitter profile, in Google’s eyes, is very much like any other page with a headline, body copy, and links. As with any other page, if that content is keyword-rich, it’s more likely to be ranked well. Thus keeping your tweets focused lets you keep that copy keyword-dense, giving Google exactly what it wants to see and encouraging it to rank your Twitter page higher than other, less-focused accounts.

It is very important to realize that Twitter can work for anyone when used in the right way. Whether you are a writer, a designer, a marketer or an ambitious journalist, there is always a specific path for you to follow on Twitter in order to promote your work and meet potential customers.

For today’s post, I will be sharing with you 5 great Twitter tips for journalists.

I will begin by stating the variety of purposes journalists can use Twitter for:

Monitor activities and discussions of people in your community.

Connect with people who will provide you with helpful tips and information.

Connect with colleagues and share ideas with them or get ideas from them.

Crowd source stories by asking the community for story ideas or information.

Quickly find people who witnessed or experienced news worthy events.

Break stories quickly.

Provide live coverage of news events.

Drive traffic to your website or blog.

Report a story by text message using Twitter in disaster situations when you can’t transmit data.

Improve your writing as you learn to make points directly in just 140 characters.

So how can you, as a journalist, make use of Twitter effectively?

Organize and manage your Twitter account by selecting an application to work with throughout the day such as Hootsuite.

Find local tweeps through Twitter’s advanced search feature or by using other tools such as TwitterLocal.net, NearbyTweets, Localtweeps or various iPhone apps, such as Twinkle and Tweetie.

Follow breaking stories in real time through Twitterfall. Create a custom search to follow topics you specify — and save them for later retrieval. Type in an address into the geolocation panel to see what people are discussing in that area.

Find a resource – such as @helpareporter – and follow him/her to be connected to other journalists with more news sources.

Report on location using Twitter based software such as Twitcam which is a new service that combines the simplicity of Twitter with the ability to stream live video, thanks to a partnership with Livestream. You could report live from the scene of a speech, a fire, a protest or another breaking news event.

Successful viral marketing on Twitter is not as simple as many assume, however, with the right guidelines and steps, it can be done and bring about a rewarding outcome!

Therefore, for today's post, I will be sharing you 5 simple steps to going viral on Twitter:

Successful viral marketing on Twitter is not as simple as many assume, however, with the right guidelines and steps, it can be done and bring about a rewarding outcome!

Therefore, for today’s post, I will be sharing you 5 simple steps to going viral on Twitter:

1. Call on Action:

Don’t take retweeting, or lack of it, lightly. An RT is a way to show your Twitter friends and followers that you care about them and about the content they share with you. If retweeting is the action you wish your readers to take, the best way to persuade people to do it is to motivate them to by asking or offering incentives. When tweeps retweets your content, they’re very likely to also repost your call to action, lending it their credibility and influence.

2. Timing is King:

There is a window of time during which sharing on Twitter occurs more often so you should keep an eye on the following:

The first few days of the business week.

Monday through Wednesday (weekends are usually slower).

3. Links Rule:

Almost 70% of all retweets contain a link. Therefore, if you want to spread your off-Twitter content, you should make sure that you do utilize links in your tweets. However, make sure you do mix it up with other types of tweets now and then and do not spam your followers with ads!

4. The Peer Effect:

The more the tweet is tweeted, the more likely it would catch on faster. So one tactic to increasing your retweetability could be to message or otherwise persuade influential tweeps or friends on twitter to retweet your content for you, in order to stimulate further organic retweeting. This can be especially powerful if you can get well known users to share your content, as they’ll then be lending their authority and reach to your message as well as your calls to action.

5. Value:

From my experience on Twitter, I found out that certain types of posts, links and topics get more retweets than others in general so you should try to focus on them as much as possible if you are aiming to be retweeted more often.

Tips, how tos and instructional content

News (especially breaking news)

Warnings (like the DM phishing scam)

Freebies and contests

Hope you enjoyed today’s tips!

When thinking of posting any type of content or reading material on Twitter, the most important thing to consider is your headline and it value. Your headline is more of a promise than a “catch phrase” thus a good headline promises some kind of benefit or reward in exchange for attention. That reward could range from an amusing diversion to the solution to a pressing problem.

One of the best ways which you could utilize to guarantee that your headlines always offer a compelling “reward” is to use the 4-U approach:

Your headlines must:

Be USEFUL to the reader,

Provide him/her with a sense of URGENCY,

Convey the idea that the main benefit is somehow UNIQUE; and

Do all of the above in an ULTRA-SPECIFIC way.

It is also very important to consider the length of the headline you are using seeing that it should not be too long that it takes up most of your 140 character limit yet it shouldn’t be too short that it ends up being useless!

Finally, never underestimate the power of good content since the headline can only grab attention but maintaining it and reducing your bounce rate is what you should be after in the long-run.

Happy tweeting everyone!

Looking forward to your feedback and comments in the section below :)
