If you have been following on a little while, you would know by now how strongly we feel about eco beauty products. Not only do they make us “look good”, our skin benefits from all the yummy goodness in the eco products, as opposed to suffering and straining due to gross harsh chemicals.

While we mean in the fashion sense of course, it is nice to slowly start being able to leave our cardis at home as the nights get warmer!  We are going to be brief today because we are just so excited to share… {twin set} Spring Release 2010 has hit our store!  For those playing at home, you might remember that we broke into the big online world about this time last year with a gorgeous collection of spring and happy dreses (which didn’t hang around long, so please don’t delay!)

…. and it is in video form.  oh yes it is!  it is an amazing thing when a creative idea can come to life, almost exactly as you imagine it.  that is how we felt when our amazing photographer Jessica Klingelfuss sent us through this video.  Jessica, who shot our last three lookbooks, and who has also shot our soon to be released Spring range, set the camera to film on set, and here is what she came up with.  so beautiful.

so we thought it might be fun to tease you with this taste.  yay!  new dresses coming soon!  think beautiful springy and summery pieces.  perfect for dancing through the beautiful sunlight.

if you haven’t already, make sure you check out what the fantastic people at Oxfam Australia are doing with the 3things project.  it began with Oxfam “collaborating with young designers and artists, exploring ways their profession could help contribute to a better world”.  Realising that what they were doing was not only awesome, but important, they started 3things, “one platform that connects you to the issues you care about and to people creating a more equitable and sustainable world.” wow. get me in on some of that action!

Over the weekend, when Angela and I had our “Leeloo” hats on, we had a stall at the Finders Keepers market in Melbourne (yes it was amazing!), and we were lucky enough to watch the 3things magic in action! check out these sweet and lovely FK shoppers, who share with us 3things we all can do, to make this world just that little bit more special.

Or perhaps it is just that slowly over the years I have learnt about all the rubbish and terribleness that goes into the cosmetic industry.   Animal cruelty, mass production, and not to mention the chemicals!  I mean you can hardly blame me for being paranoid!

I have spent a lot of time searching for the perfect product.  I have a lot of boxes to tick and I am sure you do too.  You might remember a little post I did about Botani?  Well here is the next step in your 15 part morning beauty regime (I am joking… there is no way I could handle 15 steps!)

Aves Cosmetics.  Simple, beautiful, easy to use.  Ticks all the right boxes and does the job well.  Very well.  I know this mineral make-up thing can all sound a bit hard and fancy but give this one ago.  My skin actually feels better as a result of wearing it, no cake-age! I promise!  An Australian brand, a small business, ethical, vegan, lovely.

The great thing is that you can shop online, so check it out.
