Greetings folks!

As I mentioned in the Addonation segment on this weeks Twisted Nether Blogcast, I am setting up a Cross-Realm Raid Event. (Alliance side, sorry I have no Horde toons, but more on that later)

The first event to be held I am tentatively planning as an Ulduar 25man. Ulduar is fairly universally held as the favorite Warcraft raid encounter, it’d positively beautiful, will make for great screenshots, can be easily cleared in one night of only a few hours, and as an added bonus has as a reward what I consider to be the most beautiful flying mount in all the game…

I should stipulate that I am setting this up for the North American realms only. Again, I cannot run a raid on the European realms, sadly.

That said, I will not be neglecting our Horde brethren, even though you chose to play the wrong faction. ^_^ only joking of course, or am I?

If you would like to schedule and run a Horde side event, or a European realm event, please contact me as well and we will set that up.

4.3.2 has given the community a wonderful gift in the Cross-Realm-Raid feature and I would love to see the Twisted Nether and Blog Azeroth community use that feature to it’s fullest!

If the event is a success (and why wouldn’t it be?!) we can plan for more events in the future, venturing into other raid encounters as well! I don’t know about you, but there are a great deal of raids I’ve never seen in person, despite having played since launch.

Hello Everyone! I’d like you to join me in welcoming Annuillae of Anuillae’s Analytical Assertions!

Annuillae started playing WoW during WotLK who enjoys a very laid back experience with the game. She started out studying the arcane ways of the mage, but has since started exploring the light with her holy paladin. In addition to WoW Annuillae enjoys playing Minecraft and other RPGS, including fighting dragons in Skyrim.

While her blog isn’t limited to her WoW gaming, she does enjoy chronicling her WoW adventures and she has been participating in Saga’s 20 days of WoW blogging. Outside of WoW Annuillae is an English and Classical Civilisations student who enjoys a bit of Physics and Economics on the side.

Amongst other things, Annuillae has explored Blizzard’s Horde bias and discussed some of her favorite Transmogrification Sets. Of course, Hoarders has nothing on her, as she discusses the top three WoW collectables. Veroicone has been playing WoW since just after The Burning Crusade release and has been a druid since her very first day. After deciding to try the leafy side of the druid, she fell in love and hasn’t looked back since! Learning of her love for healing, she naturally decided to see what the other healers had to offer and has been experimenting with all of them at varying levels. She enjoys both the PvP and the PvE aspects of the game and actively participates in both.

Veroicone has been blogging since she was just a wee lass, and decided that she’d like to start journaling her adventures in Azeroth. Veroicone writes on a number of WoW related topics, and love to share any tips or tricks that she finds, as well as videos that she makes!

Veroicone offers her thoughts on what the guild finder needs as well as some advice to guild leaders on how to not lose your guild. L2Ptv has recently announced their official launch over at L2Ptv.com and so the timing is perfect to write up an RSS article discussing what the site has to offer.

L2Ptv is a site dedicated to helping every player in World of Warcraft operate to their fullest potential. There are well-produced and informative videos available for all classes and specs as well as boss strategies, and forums for the community. Their goal is to provide an environment where players do not need to fear public humiliation for asking “the wrong questions” which is, unfortunately, the case on some other information sites out there.

The basic video tutorials on class/spec feature discussion on talents, gearing, stat priority, gemming, and of course rotations. They will even show gameplay to go along with, particularly, the rotation portion.

L2Ptv also features premium content. It is a subscription based package that gives access to the entire site including boss fights, heroic and normal difficulty, from each of the different class/spec’s and also full access to the forum portion of the site. I highly recommend going to the premium section to see the sample videos posted to see what the subscription will get you.

I will say I am very interested in at least trying a month of the subscription plan, simply to see the videos of the Dragon Soul boss fights from my class/spec perspective.

Remember that the class/spec tutorials are free as well as the boss strategy videos, the premium subscription is the next tier of videos that go into the POV of each class/spec for each of the bosses on both heroic and normal difficulties.

Every raiding character in World of Warcraft should watch their class/spec video, because having information presented to you in a very well-produced video format can very often be more effective than reading text in a threaded forum post. The videos at L2Ptv are in-depth and well-made and watching the Combat Rogue video I learned I was missing a very key part of the synergy of one of my main cooldowns.

Check them out, you’ll be happy you did!

Lance has been playing WoW since vanilla. As the cataclysm hit, lance started to lose interest in the game, but the recent announcement of the upcoming Mists of Pandaria expansion has renewed his interests in WoW. He found himself very excited about all things Pandaren and decided to begin exploring the race and the new Monk class. In addition to taking an early look at the talent calculators, he has also given some thought to how monks might work with active mitigation.

If all of that seems very heavy, don’t worry! Lance has taken some time to sit down and consider the really important aspects of what being a Pandarian is all about. You know, things like the importance of picking a proper Pandaren Name. You might also want to reconsider your thoughts on the new Pandaren racial after reading his thoughts on being bouncy.

Who doesn’t love spreadsheets, am I right? Deep down inside you know you love them. Reading them. Editing them. Pouring over them to eek out the last smidgen of dps from your gear set.

Are… are those crickets?

So not everyone is as enthralled by spending hours tweaking data fields in Excel as I am. However we all need to optimize our gear. Even if you are a not a hardcore theorycrafter it’s great to know what pieces to reforge and what gems to socket to get the most out of your gear.

There is of course the ever present Ask Mr Robot. But sometimes you want more specific and focused information to your class. Playing a Rogue I use Shadowcraft, the site dedicated to Rogue gear and talent optimization.

Shadowcraft is clean, easy to use, intuitive, and feature packed. And best of all, it’s darned pretty.

You start by selecting your character from the opening page and your gear will appear as above. You will get your optimal dps output (note that this is based on party buffs and maximum time on boss, make certain to adjust what buffs you will be receiving in the settings tab). Make certain to refresh from armory to get the most accurate data. I forgot to do so here:

All of those gem slots are filled and all gear has been reforged. You can see how much of an increase proper gemming and reforging can be.

To get the most accurate information make certain, as I said, to go into settings and remove any buffs you’ll not be receiving, which is fairly easy to determine, if there is no Shaman in your group, you’ll not be getting Strength of Earth or Wrath of Air (mores the pity >.> ).

If you are of the Rogue-ish persusasion, and why the heck would you not be, really? head over to Shadowcraft and start using the site to optimize your gear and talent selections. You’ll not be disappointed by the results!

Hello everyone! Today I’d like to introduce you to Aidrana of Miss Pew Pew.

Aidrana was introduced to Blizzard games through her adventures with Diablo and started playing WoW towards the end of The Burning Crusade. She started exploring the end game in the middle of WotLK and hasn’t looked back since. She is currently enjoying her time tackling Cataclysm’s raid content with a great group of friends. If you can’t find her in game, you are likely to find her behind a camera, or perhaps playing around in photoshop.

Aidrana started her blog in hopes to meet more of the community, and share her experiences in the game. You can find her thoughts on flexible raid rosters, playing with a disability in WoW or working with two healers in raids. You can also learn a little bit about each of her characters, raiding without vent or see her artist’s eye in a series of screen shots!

Time passes, in real life and in WoW. But except for how long a day and a year are, we know virtually nothing about the calendar in Azeroth. Are there also twelve months in Azeroth as there are here? How long are they? Only because February is 28 days long in the calendars of Western civilizations doesn’t mean Azeroth’s February has to have the same length.
As there are many different civilizations with their own languages spread throughout Azeroth, what names might the days and months have?

Cymre has been playing WoW since Vanilla, starting off her adventures as a hunter. However as the Burning Crusade was about to change the face of WoW forever, Cymre decided to see how it felt to turn in her arrows and find the light – or more simply known as rerolling a priest. She is a bit of an achievement hound, using her free time to chase them all down. In addition to managing her guild website, “catching them all” when it comes to non-combat pets and keeping up to speed on her professions, Cymre has become quite the fashionista! She’s discovered tons of ways to dress herself up for any adventure or activity in the game.

With the new Mists of Pandaria expansion, a lot of people didn’t like the idea of Pandas being part of World of Warcraft. So using the races/models that are available; try your best to mix and make your own race. (ex: You can make half nightelf and half turtle! Or Undead Orcs!)

Pocket started as a Dwarf rogue back during Vanilla, where he raided until the end of the expansion. During TBC, he swapped mains, but was quickly drawn back to his sneaky ways during WotLK. All of the sneaking around and getting the jump on poor druids (like me!) in PvP renewed his love of the class and he hasn’t looked back since. Currently Pocket raids withand through his research found that there were very few rogue resources available. Wanting to help fill that void, Pocket decided to start Shadow Shifting.

Pocket’s goal is to share his experiences as a rogue, and offer some insight into the subtleties of the class that make it one of the hardest to master. Shared Topic: Bring It Back LINK

Before I was going to bed, I heard someone talk to my husband about some changes in WoW they wish didn’t happen. Like removing some quests, content, class changes. One of the things that popped into my head was “companion deaths”. During the Ragnaros fight in Classic, I heard someone in vent go “Did someone’s cat died?” and sure enough, my Black Tabby companion died. Everyone busted up laughing.

So I thought about some other changes that I would bring back…just for the day? For the week? and Permanently?

Noxxic – World of Warcraft Cataclysm Guides is currently in Beta, but like most things currently residing in Beta status, namely every product Google has every pushed out, it is clean, concise, and appears to be working as intended.

What Noxxic provides are class guides, current to Cataclysm, and a very elegant format. Traditionally one would need to go to sites like Elitist Jerks and then drill down through the forums to find information like this, or at the very least, find a central source for all of the classes. I have heard a few folks in the community of late mention that there are whispers of EJ losing some of its credibility. Perhaps this is simply in terms of being up-to-date, or perhaps their hard-edge nature and public humiliation component in terms of bannings has finally caught up to them. That is not a statement I am making, simply expounding on a possibility.

Well what is someone to do if they want a central source for all things class guides and either do not enjoy the EJ environment or simply do not trust the information? Noxxic is a wonderful alternative that I highly recommend trying.

I myself have found a use for it already. I have played, on my Rogue, the Assassination spec since very early ICC content and just recently picked up a Mace and started rolling as Combat. Obviously, I knew nothing about modern Combat spec mechanics, so I went to Noxxic and had a great time reading up on the new rotations and such.

That’s one of the greatest benefits of Noxxic, it’s just so pretty to look at. Head over there and see it for yourself!
