http://bit.ly/omfefZ

Mobile marketing is a huge potential source of traffic, customers and profit for your business, but as yet fairly untapped. Yet, over the next three years, it is predicted that more than half current internet users will be accessing the web via mobiles and other handheld devices.

Mobile marketing offers a very personal kind of interactivity for relationship building with your prospects. It’s not just about bombarding folk with text SMS marketing messages. Mobile friendly web sites and mobile applications mean marketers can reach a much greater target audience.

The statistics are pretty convincing and competition in the mobile direct marketing arena is still comparatively low.

Growth in mobile customers

World wide there are 4 billion people with mobile phones. In fact, there are almost five times more cell phone owners than laptops and computer owners, especially home internet ready.

Gartner, the IT research company, predicts that over the next three years over half current internet users will be accessing the web via mobiles and other handheld devices.

“There are clear opportunities for mobile transactions to grow as users, in this and previous surveys, indicate that they want to be able to use their mobiles to buy more goods, such as books, music, travel services, household utilities and electronic appliances,” says BuzzCity CEO, KF Lai.

It’s a very global trend. BuzzCity’s recent survey questioned 1,798 mobile users across the Americas, Asia, Africa, Western Europe and the Middle East and showed that 90% had directly purchased products or services via their mobile.

The trend towards mobile marketing

It’s no surprise really that the fastest growing marketing technologies and emerging channels are mobile, rich media and social media. You only have to do a search on some of the popular keywords for the internet marketing and online home business industry to see how these methods are all being adopted with enthusiasm by marketers.

Unica just released its “The State of Marketing 2010″ results from the latest Global Survey of Marketers and there are some astounding findings.

The survey reported that “Nearly half of marketers surveyed have already embraced social media marketing, and adoption is healthy across most social media outlets, such as blogs, Facebook, and Twitter. However, marketers need to think more about integrating social media with other marketing tactics.”

Despite the rapid increases in the potential audience, “mobile marketing” is a relatively new practice. The term describes marketing on or with a mobile device, such as a cell phone using WAP or text messaging to communicate between the business and the customer.

Mobile marketing is increasing in significance with over 30% of marketers surveyed already using some form or other of mobile marketing and many sources of information (magazines, and services available to support them.

Nevertheless, mobile advertising has grown over the past 1-2 years (almost 100% in the UK), despite the economic recession. The total is pretty small compared to advertising on the internet, which last year was higher than that spent on TV.

However, the Mobile Marketing Association suggests the growth in mobile marketing is likely to accelerate as handsets equipped with new technology, including mobile broadband, become ubiquitous and consumer behaviour changes.

The response from marketing vendors isn’t far behind. For instance, 84444.com recently launched its Do-it-Yourself mobile marketing campaigns that can be run from the convenience of a desktop computer. YouTube is making huge changes to its mobile web presence and has now begun incorporating adverts throughout its mobile site.

How to tap into the mobile market

Anyone in business should always be looking for new ways to reach out and touch their customers and build attention from new prospects. And mobile marketing may just be the golden ticket.

Your mobile user is permanently switched-on, impulsive and ready to interact at the drop of a hat. Who wouldn’t want to tap into mobile marketing? It’s the ultimate direct response tool.

Mobile marketing, you could argue, is perhaps a rather more captive audience. When someone has their phone in their hand and downloads a page, they are much engaged than on a desktop based website. It’s a much more powerful direct response tool than the internet.

Conversions from mobiles compared to web or email marketing are five times higher. And, obviously competition is much lower because nobody really knows about this yet.

So what changes do you need to make in your business to attract mobile clients?

Well, first you should make sure your website is mobile friendly, especially if you are sending text SMS messages with active web links to your mobile contacts. There’s a tonne of reasons why this is important, but mostly because mobile is an instant and impulsive kind of medium, so you want the recipient to be able to follow the link and get to a useful page and quickly.

Consider that subscriber on your email list may well be reading their messages on their phone. So you want to keep your main message and link ‘above the fold’ to use a newspaper term. To clarify: when you’re accessing emails from a mobile, sometimes the longer ones will get truncated so put your link early on and remember the rules of compelling headlines.

But also, as with the SMS, your mobile user should be able to click your call to action link in the email and bring up the page right there and then from their phone’s web browser. The chances they will visit your website when they get back to their PC are far lower.

Google is actively hunting for decent mobile enabled sites to feature in its search results, since this is a huge source of revenue for them if their users are happy. There’s not enough mobile sites out there. So learn how to create a Google-friendly mobile version of your site and you could rank higher than for your regular desktop site.

There’s a whole spectrum of solutions for making your webpage mobile friendly. These range from the simple and cheap like adding a bit of code you add to your WordPress blog to a more complex and expensive decision to create a complete and total mobile website.

Getting your site indexed by Google on the mobile search engine?

Google have mobile site maps distinct from the usual site maps. Check out their webmaster tools for help on that. And get yourself listed in the Google local business listings. Google has a way you can build a mobile landing page within that tool. It works best for brick and mortar businesses, but it’s all good web presence.

Google knows that people search differently on their mobiles than they do on their desktop. They actually have a specific mobile keyword research tool. Not a bad idea, then, to clue up the whole different algorithms search engines are using for mobile searching.

Another thing to remember to keep your mobile text ads short, mirroring the style of social networking conversations. Opera (one of the mobile browsers) statistics show that 41% of people accessing the mobile web are going to social network sites, so MySpace, Facebook, twitter. These are intertwined and meshed together as a tool, so these ads need to work together.

Automating the SMS text marketing process

You want to add a mobile phone field to your web page capture form if you currently capture your visitors’ names and email addresses. With a list of numbers, you can unleash your mobile direct marketing power by sending automated, scheduled SMS or text messages to your subscribers.

Internet marketers have known for years the money is in the relationship with your email list. As mobile marketing gets unleashed, it’s likely your phone list will become the gold standard.

SMS has an astounding 97% open rate – and usually within the first 5 minutes of receiving the message. That’s powerful to marketers! If the “autotexter” replaces the autoresponder, do you have a business strategy for that dramatic change?

Early adopters ALWAYS make the most money. So go check out mobile marketing and see what a difference it can make in your business.

Text Messaging Can’t Be Beat Even By A Hurricane

This week was truly amazing and text messaging made it a whole lot less scary. Over the past couple of days we faced both an easthquake and a hurricane. Both of these events are very unusual for the New York area and took everyone by surprise.

Text Messaging Beats The Earthquake

When the earthquake hit we were forced to leave our offices and congregate in the street outside of the building. Everyone was trying to reach their families and friends but the phone lines were just too busy. However, text messaging worked just fine. Being smaller in size, text messages can get through when phone calls just can’t make it. This sort of proved to me, once again, the power of text messaging even compared to traditional cell phone calls.

Even Hurricane Irene Can’t Beat Text Messaging!

Today, we are about to face one of the most dangerous hurricanes to hit the NY area in years. As I was listening to the broadcasts about the hurricane one of the tech gurus mentioned the importance of using text messaging instead of the phone because of the small size of the text messages compared to the much larger MP3 style phone call. First of all, if everyone used text messaging instead of the phone, the stress on the communications stream would be much less. Secondly, if we used text messaging we could be assured that our messages got through since 97% of all text messages are both delivered and read.

If Text Messaging Can Beat Mother Nature….

You need to ask yourself if text messaging can beat an earthquake and a hurricane, shouldn’t you be using it to combat the crazy economy we are facing. Wouldn’t it make sense to take advantage of text messaging in order to contact your current or future customers, knowing that your messages will not only be delivered almost 100% of the time, but more importantly, be opened 97% of the time and read within just minutes.

This new and rapidly growing marketing medium is being used by many of the most successful businesses in almost every market and is now available to every small to medium size business as well. If you are not using mobile marketing in your business, you can count on the fact that your competitors are or will soon be.

Just imagine a mobile user looking for a new restaurant to dine at, or possibly a store to buy a new dress or shirt. They check out their mobile search and then click on a link to a mobile website. That company was smart enought to create an optimized mobile website so that the visitor gets what they want, when they need it…typical of the mobile user.

Remember mobile users are growing rapidly. Many mobile users surf the web on their mobile devices rather than their desktop computers. They have no time to sit and wait for a site to open and load. They need information now!

It’s up to you. You can wait to take advantage of text messaging and mobile marketing or wait until your competitors do! @box @dropbox @dropshots @expono @fotki @gdocs @imageshack @kewego @moby @photobucket @plerb @sonico @tumblr @meme @yfrog hurricane hurricane irene irene mobile market mobile marketing SMS sms marketing sms messaging text message marketing text messaging

Mobile Marketing Is About to Enter A Period of Rapid Growth!

If you believe such people as Jeff Bezos of Amazon or Steven Eastman from Target than you’ve got to believe that mobile marketing is not just a flash in the pan but rather a true marketing phenomenon. The question to answer is why is mobile marketing such a rapidly growing marketing medium?

Mobile Marketing Has Advantages Over It’s Closet Competitors

When you start to compare mobile marketing to the most commonly used marketing tools such as email, direct mail, radio and TV or even social media, there just isn’t any comparison. Let’s take a look at some parameters you can look at when comparing these different marketing events:

Open Rates: This is the number of times a message is opened by the intended recipient. Email is a dismal 5%, direct mail is as low as .5 – 3% and print media is even worse. On the other hand, text message marketing (a major component of mobile marketing) has an open rate of over 97%. That means that when you send a text message it will be opened almost 100% of the time.

Read Rates: OK. So the text message is opened, how many times is it actually read because there is a difference between opening a message and actually reading it. Well, text messaging excels here as well. Not only are almost 100% of all text messages read but they are typically read within an hour! Imagine being able to send a coupon, a discount or a bit of important information to a current or potential customer knowing that it will be delivered, opened and read within an hour.

Cost: When you look at all of the other forms of marketing none compare to the cost effectiveness of mobile marketing. You see it’s not just the cost of creating and delivering the message but rather the cost relating to how many of those messages are actually opened and read. It may only cost pennies to send thousands of emails but if 95% of them end up in the SPAM folder the cost is tremendous and the results are paltry.

What Does This Mean To The Business Looking To Add Mobile Marketing To Their Marketing Mix?

Well, let’s think about this a bit. If you’re a local business looking to attract new customers, or possibly hoping to get current customers back to your business more often, wouldn’t you be thrilled to have a marketing strategy that guarantees that your marketing message will be opened and read at a specific time. Mobile marketing is a tool that can be used by itself but is far more powerful when added to all existing marketing strategies.

Mobile Marketing Is Truly Taking Over

Just this morning I heard an amazing thing about mobile marketing on the radio as I was coming to work. Mark Dean, one of IBM Corp.’s top technology executives was talking about the 30th anniversary of the PC and mentioned that the PC was going the way of the dinosaur and being replaced by his favorite device, the tablet. Dean revealed in a blog post commemorating the 30th anniversary of the IBM personal computer that “I, personally, have moved beyond the PC as well. My primary computer is now a tablet.”

What Does This Signal to the Mobile Marketing Community?

Well, just think about it. The PC was developed thirty years ago and at that time mobile marketing wasn’t even a thought. Most people accessed the web, a relatively new concept itself, sitting at their desktop computer. DOS was the rage and disk drives were a staggering 10 megabytes. Fast forward thirty years and the market has dramatically changed.

How Does Mobile Marketing Affect Computer Purchasing Decisions?

Today, we’re a mobile community. Multiple jobs, transporting the kids from school to soccer, checking reservations while in the car, looking for phone numbers to access important information has created a demand for portability. What better device than a tablet such as an IPad. As long as there is adequate connectivity, the tablet is even better than the smart phone for those interested in mobile marketing. It’s larger screen, more memory and better graphics provides the user with a far better mobile experience. Now, the tablet is still not the device of choice, well not just yet. It is still too expensive and a bit too large for the active mobile user. But…it does make a lot of sense for the mobile consumer who is looking for an alternative from the old cumbersome desktop computer.

What Does This Mean To You and Mobile Marketing as a Marketing Venue?

Well, if you’re interested in starting a mobile marketing business, this should raise the hair on the back of your neck. If you believe that the world is turning their computer hardware interest to more mobile devices than you must also believe that mobile marketing will be the marketing venue of choice for both small and large businesses. It only makes sense…and if you don’t believe me than reread the quote from Mark Dean. If his choice is a tablet, it must be for a reason other than just cuteness. The only reason I can think of is that the tablet, and it’s smaller cousin the smart phone, increase the mobility of the computer user. Mobile marketing is exploding thanks to not only the incredible read and open rates associated with this modality but equally as important due to the technological advances being made in the mobile device.

Free Mobile Marketing Webinars

Mobile marketing is growing by leaps and bounds. Statistically, more mobile users are using their mobile web browswer to search the web than their ‘desktop’ computers. Well, what does this mean for those of you looking for new and exciting business opportunities?

Mobile Marketing Opportunities

Just like it was in the early nineties, there are those that will take advantage of an exploding market and then there are those that will let opportunities pass them by. Mobile marketing is just such an opportunity. Very few marketing mediums are growing today! Mobile marketing may just be the only form of marketing that is actually experiencing growth. This should not be surprising to any of you that have read any of my posts or any posts by those that have predicted this now for months if not years.

Mobile Marketing Is Not New!

This is good for all of us. Trying to bring a new marketing technique to market can be a daunting task. Trying to convince business owners to spend their marketing dollars on something they have never seen before can be just a large waste of time. Thank goodness that is not where we are with mobile marketing.

For several years now large, multi-national and U.S. companies have been using mobile marketing as a part of their general marketing. If you watch the Superbowl, listen to T.V. (just watch the Ed Show on MSNBC any night) or take part in a charity (charities are using mobile marketing to get attention to their needs and to make it much easier for donations) and you’ve seen mobile marketing in action.

Mobile Marketing Is Predicted To Explode By 2013 and Beyond

That’s right. Mobile marketing is not a fly by night event. It is predicted to grow from $2B a year to over $22B in just a few years. That’s no small change and anyone looking to start a new business, full or part time, can take part in this exciting new industry.

Mobile Market Creator is looking to provide just such an opportunity to a select group of people. This is not a ‘get rich’ overnight scheme. It is not an MLM where you have to sell vitamins to your next door neighbor or your long lost Aunt Sadie. It is not a magic bullet or another Internet SCAM. It is a true ‘brick and mortar’ business that can be passed on to your kids and grandkids. It is not for the lazy or the timid but rather if you’re an aggressive , hard working person looking for a great business in an exploding industry you need to take advantage of our FREE webinar.

“Discover How You Can Have Your Own Mobile Marketing ‘Brick and Mortar” Business
