You have a wonderful initiative to help people that are in need but don&#8217;t have the required time and money to put it in motion. If you noticed Ileane’s concern, you will agree that Tweeting old post that are no longer relevant, will just backfire on you and make you look silly. <p>So what&#8217;s new with this recent update?</p>
<p>If you installed the plugin before, you would have noticed that there was a feature that was excluded from the previous release. This feature was the &#8220;exclude post&#8221; from the settings area. The reason why this feature is important is because, although you can exclude specific categories from being automatically retweeted, there are cases in which you also would want to exclude some specific post within that same category. While you were able to exclude post before, the process was daunting.</p>
<p>Exclude Post Made Easier From Your Automatic Tweets</p>
<p>The update, released today, comes back with the &#8220;exclude post&#8221; feature and if you are already using the pugin, I encourage you to update it the firts chance you get. Once you install the update (or fresh install), you will now see the &#8220;exclude post&#8221; button from your dashboard, where after clicking, you will see a list of all your post. You can now individually exclude any post that you do not wish to be included in your automated tweet default definitions.</p>

<p>Tweet Old post&#8217;s updates includes some other minor fixes, but the &#8220;exclude post&#8221; feature is really what makes a big difference. If you love <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://plus.google.com/u/0/104259475153946927093" target="_blank">Google+</a> and want display a similar widget  &#8220;anywhere&#8221; is your site, you might be interested to know about Google Plus Widget.</p>
<p>The widget simply allows you to show the visitors of your blog or website that you have a <strong>Google+</strong> account, while encouraging them to add you to their circles (similar to follow me on Twitter). Installation is a simple cut and paste of a bit of JS code, where you can choose to display your latest posts (public stream) or not.</p>
<p>The <strong><a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://widgetsplus.com/" target="_blank">Google Plus Widget</a></strong> is great because it can be installed on virtually any platform.. WordPress, Blogger (Google Blogs), etc..</p>
<p><strong>Settings:</strong></p>
<p>Add your Google+ ID, choose the width, font and language (supports major ones for now) and click on get code.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><em>As Twitter is expanding fast my stream is getting a lot faster too.</em> Tweets are rushing by in such a fast pace it is really quite hard to keep up with it sometimes.</p>
<p>One thing I realized is that my followers, without knowing it are constantly competing for my attention with their tweets. There are of course many reasons why I eventually click on a link or retweet someone, but <strong>one reason is if I can see from afar that thought was given to that tweet</strong>.</p>
<p>Of course no one expects you to spend hours on writing a single tweet, but some tweets clearly were given more thoughts than others.</p>
<p>One great and simple technique I was taught by a lot of other reputable tweeters is that only tweeting the post title and link can soon get your followers to skim over them without clicking or even taking a look.</p>
<p>Instead I started something else recently. I would look <strong>for a line that clearly stood out from an article </strong>and then go ahead and tweet this line.</p>
<p><strong><a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://bufferapp.com/">Buffer</a> –make tweets unique</strong></p>
<p>There is one tool which works like magic for doing exactly that. It is called Buffer and allows you to apply this in a super simple way. If you installed one of the <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://bufferapp.com/">browser extensions</a> (Chrome, Firefox or Safari) this is all you do:</p>
<p><strong>Highlight a certain line and then hit the Buffer icon.</strong> Immediately you will get a tweet with the shortened link and highlighted text. Here is an example of Francisco’s tweet:</p>

<p>All Tweets Buffered will be sent out for you well spaced out over the day. This means <em>you add lots of different tweets in at one point and then <strong>don’t have to worry about scheduling or overwhelming your followers</strong> with too much information.</em></p>
<p>The times tweets are sent are totally up to you and you can set them as frequently as you wish. Here are my fixed daily tweeting times:</p>

<p>Making your tweets stand out from the crowd in the age of so much information at hand is crucial I found.</p>
<p>One tool that helps me a great deal to create content that is both unique and has my personal touch is Buffer. A few features I also wanted to point out are:</p>
<ul>
<li>Get full analytics for all Buffered tweets, which means Clicks, <a href="http://twittnotes.com/2009/01/what-is-retweet-and-how-to-retweet.html" target="_blank" title="retweets">Retweets</a> and Reach of your tweets.</li>
<li>Use Buffer inside Google Reader too with one click on the icon.</li>
</ul>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As the social media gets more and more popular it is just but normal that all WordPress users may have some sort of &#8220;sharing&#8221; button installed. These buttons when clicked upon will then show how many times your post or pages have been Tweeted, Shared, Plus One&#8217;d and more. These gives us an idea of how much impact we are having on that particular posts or page. However, if you want to look at a bigger picture, you can see each posts individually, which is a very tedious task, or you can see them all in one &#8220;screen&#8221; by using the Social Metrics free WP plugin.</p>
<h3>What is Social Metrics WordPress Plugin?</h3>
<p>Social Metrics is a new WordPress plugin that allows you to monitor your site’s social impact. It adds a screen in your dashboard where you can see all your WordPress posts and exactly how many times they have been shared across Twitter, Facebook, Google +1, Google Buzz, StumbleUpon, Digg and LinkedIn. The cool part is that you can &#8220;click&#8221; on any of them to share your posts, without having to go to each post individually. If you see any posts or page that you feel has not been &#8220;shared&#8221; enough, you can do it right there.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Surprisingly, just found out about this website called &#8220;That Can Be My Bext Tweet&#8221; via <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://edition.cnn.com/2011/TECH/social.media/04/14/twitter.my.next.tweet/index.html" target="_blank">CNN</a>. I said surprising because although it (probably) deserves all the attention it can get, being featured on CNN is in fact something else. That said, I had to check this out and see for myself <img src='http://twittnotes.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>Oddly enough, the website in itself does not say much as to what is its real purpose. After reading the article on CNN, I finally figured that it grabs words and phrases from any public Twitter feed&#8217;s posts and &#8220;remixes&#8221; them into a new tweet. Once you have seen &#8220;an interesting&#8221; remixed tweet, you can post the results via you own feed, if you like.</p>
<p>This online tool at first glance may seem useless, as in most cases, grabbing random words and having it remixed, most likely will not generate anything &#8220;meaningful&#8221;.  While this is true, in certain occasions the tool might just generate something fun and when that happens, posting it could &#8220;grab&#8221; the attention of other users and ultimately click on your username. Doing that takes them to your profile page revealing your tweets and within the process follow you. Far fetched? Perhaps, but worth the play.</p>
<p>Here goes. Just head over the &#8220;That Can Be My Bext Tweet&#8221; website, enter the Twitter username&#8217;s you want and hit &#8220;get your next tweet&#8221;.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you are a stat and graph lover, you will be pleased to know that Hootsuite Social Analytics tools has just been launched, and it is available for all users regardless if you have a free version or not. You should be able to activate this feature once you log in to your <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://hootsuite.com/p_4623" target="_blank"><strong>Hootsuite account</strong></a> and all you have to do is send a Tweet to get access earlier than others. Actually it is activated &#8220;almost&#8221; in real time. Once activated, you will noticed that your dashboard has changed, now having a new &#8220;bar&#8221; on the left hand side of your panel to configure and create new reports (see image below).</p>
