Saying Farewell to Twolia Blogs

Unfortunately Twolia will no longer be keeping their blogs and so that means no more Design Lovely or dwellings and decor on Twolia. However you can still find me on my other blog Lovely Clusters through blogger. I have been working on for the last 6 months or so. I will be posting more dreamy photography and fabulous artists on that blog from now on. I hope that you will follow me over there! :)

Also Design Lovely will be open for a little while but I am not sure for how long so I highly recommend looking through the archives for inspiration! I want to live in this world…

Lloyd Hughes who is based in Perth, Australia has got to be my new favorite photographer. The feel of his work is really just so lovely. The colors he chooses and his subjects are always so inspiring. Quite relaxing actually and I want my dreams to look more like his images. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?

Design Trends: Pine Cones

Everyone loves a pretty pine cone!

When I think of pine cones I mainly think of Lake Tahoe. They seemed to be everywhere there! I just love their interesting shape and they are such a great object to take pictures of along with decor for your home. Adding a few in a bowl on the table can be a simple and fun way to bring in the feeling of the outdoors in, especially this time of year.

An interesting fact about pine cones:
“The familiar woody cone is the female cone, which produces seeds. The male cones, which produce pollen, are usually herbaceous and much less conspicuous even at full maturity.”

Color Scheme: Home for the Holidays

I fell behind in my blogging this week so I am posting what I would have posted this week on Saturday. So here is my Monday post! :)

This photo reminds me so much of what it would look like going to my grandparents house for the holidays but definitely “Vogued” out. I would be wearing something much more comfortable and I don’t think I could tease my hair that much. It would be a nightmare trying to brush it back to normal. I mostly just love the colors and how warm and inviting they feel. Definitely a fun photo though!

Boy, these photos really put me in my calm and happy place. :) The scenery, the colors, the clothing. Its all so perfect like something out of a dream that you don’t want to get out of. Her composition is right on and her choice of shots is perfect too. Really beautiful photos.

I came across this really intriguing artist Manuel Rebollo Merino the other day on How to Make a Baby Elephant Float Blog (one of my faves!) and I had to see more! I love the hard lines and fashion forward illustrations integrated with stylish text type. He provides a statement in each of his pieces while still keeping it beautiful. That says quite a lot in my book. So inspiring and thought provoking.

Color Scheme: Natures Gradation

We have been getting so much rain here and I love it! It is so refreshing and everything is green and fresh. Such an invigorating feeling for me. So this photo really shows the mood I am in and I really love how this photo is showing the different gradations from sky to trees to green grass to red drier grass and the colors are amazing!

I have mostly been using fashion photos for this color scheme post so I thought it was about time to change things up a bit. You can find color inspiration almost anywhere it seems.

Weeks Best! November 8th-14th

There were so many lovely black and white photos from the past week. I knew I wanted to start collecting them and post them for this weeks best but I wasn’t sure what color I wanted to pair them with until I put this lovely dusty pink tone next to them. I knew instantly it was a winner! I am loving all the ruffles too, but who wouldnt? :)
