We survived the Grand Opening and it was a big success....we had so much fun and really appreciated all of you who stopped in to see us. Since it is Valentine's Day - Happy Valentine's Day - we wanted to share this recipe and cute box Tracey made for the open house!

These were a BIG hit with everyone. In fact, when we took pictures, there was only one truffle left! Tracey used our digital set, It's All About Chocolate - it has that cute "candy" image in the set.

Grand Opening!!!

Tomorrow is the big day! Melissa's store in Gardner, Kansas, Remember This, opens. If you are local or in the area and visiting or decide to make a day trip, stop in and visit us. We will both be at the store tomorrow. There will be lots going on and here is a sneak peek of the make and take you can do if you stop by.

We have a tutorial explaining this technique if you aren't familiar with it. But what a fun idea for Valentine's Day. Actually, we have used it for several occasions. Keep reading and we'll share some of those links for other ideas.

Sweet Bouquet

Saturday we introduced our new Everything on a Stick set. Here is another card using the same cake pop image but a whole bouquet of them. How cute is this.....

The fun paper, embellishments and coloring make this card lots of fun and perfect for giving.

Here's another fun and versatile set. Lots of fun goodies - on a stick. We LOVE these images. Here is a card using the fun "cake pop" image. These are very popular right now.

Lots of pink and fun embellishments. You'll notice glitter on the bottom patterned paper...that is part of the paper....fun and cute.

The cake pop was colored with the Copic markers and embellished with fine glitter.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries!!

A couple of Fridays ago, we were working at Remember This, Melissa's soon-to-be-opening store, making samples and organizing...basically getting ready for the store to open. Tracie, our Design Team member, dropped by to visit AND she brought us a yummy treat.

What a great idea....she used the plastic container the strawberries came in, embellished it and filled it with chocolate-covered strawberries. She used the strawberry from the It's All About Chocolate set. There is so much fun going on here that if you would like more details, please go here.

We're in Sunny California!!!

and it doesn't get any better than that. We are having a blast at CHA looking at all the new stuff we will get to play with and Melissa will carry in her store. This first photo is from Hero Arts - stamp, die and embossing folder all in one wonderful kit! We loved these! Sorry for the quality of the photos but these were taken from our iPhones, but you get the idea. :)

We got to meet Christy Tomilson and for any of you that are interested in or have always wanted to do mixed media, she's your gal. Remember This will be carrying all of her new products! Christy has recently partnered with Pink Paislee and those items will be available to purchase in Melissa's store! Check out some of these photos to see what's coming.

It's Tea Time!

We have lots to share today. We not only have a new digital stamp set but we have a new tutorial as well.

This Tea Time Box tutorial is full of step-by-step instructions as well as detailed photos. The pattern for the smaller box is included in the tutorial as well as instructions to change the size of the box - easily. The larger box needs a 12" piece of card stock or patterned paper and most regular printers don't print that so we give instructions for increasing the size. This box is lots of fun and would be perfect for many occasions. We have shown our box filled with tea bags or Ghiradelli chocolates but we are sure there are many other things you will find.

Freebie Friday - Accordion Tag Card

As you have probably noticed, we aren't doing Freebie Friday every Friday. We have so many things to share that we decided to just do them once or twice a month. This Friday, we are doing an accordion tag card. We probably made these 8 or 9 years ago. As you can tell, everything comes around again whether it is fashion or crafts.

Let's get started....

Take either a 5" x 12" piece of card stock or patterned paper (we chose patterned paper) and score at 3", 6" and 9". Other ideas - You can layer patterned paper on your card stock or just stamp the card stock.

Accordion fold this piece. Using a ruler and pencil, measure down 1-1/2" along each side. Draw a line from this to the center of the front which is 1-1/2" as well. Cut all pieces at the same time for the best results.

If you are going to add ribbon or other embellishments, punch through all the folds at the same time.

To create the inside "pocket", we scored a piece of 2" x 12" piece of card stock vellum at the same score lines - 3", 6" and 9". You can, of course, use patterned paper or card stock for your pocket.

Glue this pocket along the ends. We also added a little glue along the scored lines to create separate "pockets."

Because we like the look AND it reinforces the holes, we made paper reinforcers by punching the smaller punch first and them taking the larger punch and centering the hole and punching it. We used vanilla card stock.

Next, create the tags for the vellum pockets. We used the same patterned paper but your could easily use coordinating card stock. We just cut a corner off one side and used that piece to make the other side match. Then you have a master to cut the other three.

Embellish however you want using stamps, brads, buttons, etc. We did punch holes in the top of these tags and used large brads in them but you could easily use an eyelet and thread more ribbon through them. We embellished ours with a heart stamp set and coordinating ink.

Here is what the finished tags look like in the vellum pockets.

Instead of ribbon we used some fun variegated yarn for the top of our accordion card. We used several strands of embroidery floss to tie the card together. It wraps around the entire thing and is glued on under the front embellishment.

That is it...you have a finished card ready to give. You can easily create one of these for any occasion...just have fun.

More Conversation Hearts!

Today I am sharing a simple but fun little Valentine card using the Conversation Hearts set.

The card is made with black, white, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, and Certainly Celery card stock. The top white layer has been embossed with a polka dot embossing folder.

I printed three different conversation hearts on to three different colors of card stock. Of course, you could always do all the same sentiment or color but you know the bag of conversation hearts has several colors and sayings.

Notice the vintage hearts shaped tin filled with conversation hearts in the first photo, we still have three vintage heart tin DIY kits for sale is you are interested. All You Need is Love!

We are loving the new Conversation Hearts set. Below is another card idea using this new set. The lighting almost makes this card look peachy but it is really pink.

I used the conversation hearts to create my background. Each heart was colored in with a Copic marker and embellished with glitter. The rick rack is made with pink card stock and Paper Trey's rick rack die.

And, of course, the "Love" heart is one of the conversation hearts enlarged, colored in and covered with glitter. The heart is embellished with a pink button and twine as well as a small white library clip tied with pink and white Baker's Twine.

And to totally finish off the whole card, I layered it on a paper doily, a large pink circle and a white scallop circle that is embellished with small pearls.....lots of fun embellishments.
