Tokyo Ghoul is a series that consistently managed to remain underwhelming, however that doesn’t mean the lore or the story is bad. It just went through a bunch of hurdles, yet the events that actually transpired within the series were quite honestly some of the best anime to ever exist.

The one thing about Kaneki’s story in particular is how different it is from so many of its competitors, most of which don’t really seem to deal with themes as mature as Tokyo Ghoul. So, naturally people are often left wondering what the main characters’ actions actually mean.

Why do they do what they do, what is the purpose for it? One such question is the long discussed joining of Kaneki with the Aogiri Tree. At least that one, we can answer for you!

Why Did Ken Kaneki Join the Aogiri Tree?

Well, the answer is quite easy to spot if you’ve seen the series. It’s not because he was scared of his Ghoul side, and definitely not because he was scared of hurting other humans.

The main reason for his agreement to join the Aogiri Tree was due to the mental and psychological pain he went through at the hands of Jason. Suffering at the hands of Jason wasn’t just an eye-opener for Kaneki in the sense that he saw a new perspective. Instead, Ken Kaneki realized that more than anything in the world of Tokyo Ghoul, it is power that matters.

Power that you have over others, and the power that others have over you. It was the main reason that he joined the Aogiri Tree. Joining them would give him immense power and reputation, not to mention he would learn to control his Ghoul side to his benefit and become a much stronger person overall.

How Did Ken Kaneki Join the Aogiri Tree?

Well, after suffering for a long while at the hands of Jason, Ken Kaneki realized that he had had enough of it. He had a mental breakdown, which rendered him heavily unsure of his true nature and the desire to find it is what drove him out of the torture seat.

He quickly escaped from the clutches of the psychopathic murderer, and ended up with brutally killing him.

That wasn’t all either, Kaneki then went on to cannibalize the dead psycho to quench the thirst of his ghoul side which was beginning to take over his normal human side.

Did the Same Events Transpire in the Manga?

Part of the reason why the manga fans of Tokyo Ghoul absolutely despise the series is due to how different it is from the source material. It doesn’t necessarily mean that the series is destined to be doomed, yet in the case of Tokyo Ghoul it was handled quite poorly which meant an early grave for the series overall.

One of the most complex tales in the world of Anime is the tale of Itachi Uchiha. His story is one that breaks your heart, torments you for years after you’ve watched it.

It was a story that has been loved by the audience, and it’s due to how gloomy it is. Itachi essentially, killed his entire clan in a fit of rage but it is one of the biggest questions in the anime as to why he actually did it.

He’s Sasuke’s brother, and Sasuke was the one that found him after he had committed the massacre. So, why did Itachi actually do it? What pushed him over the edge So bad that he killed his entire clan? Well, let us explain.

A Brief History of the Uchiha Clan:

Before we begin, a brief history of this clan is extremely important to understand the events that transpired. Itachi wasn’t just a crazy murderer, he had his reasons to do whatever he did. The Uchiha clan, were hated amongst the rest.

This wasn’t due to them being overly powerful or anything, it was just that due to them being people that were never helpful to others and stayed in their own corner, they lost all government power.

So, the modern Uchiha leaders decided that they would stage a coup.

Why Did He Do It?

Well, let’s just say that the other clans weren’t happy when they found out that the Uchiha clan was staging a coup. Due to this, they ended up recruiting Itachi, who was the strongest young Shinobi at the time within the Uchiha Clan of Konohagakure.

Not to forget that they didn’t just recruit him by his own volition, instead they forced him to either kill his entire clan or to die along side them including his little brother Sasuke.

Naturally, he was left with no choice and of course he did the thing that he thought was right. The genocide of the Uchiha clan, was something that Itachi never wanted to do and did not realise that it would lead to his own death at the hands of Sasuke on his revenge quest

The Consequences of Itachi’s Decision:

Well, Itachi’s decision to kill his entire clan and take the blame just so he could save his little brother turned out sour.

His little brother, quite literally swore vengeance upon him and started down on a quest to kill Itachi by any means necessary.

Eventually, Sasuke even succeeds in doing this and that is how the legend Itachi Uchiha ended.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably been watching Boruto in hopes that the show finally picked up the pace and becomes half as fun as Naruto was.

Honestly, being the sequel to one of the most beloved Anime shows of all time already meant that Boruto was set up for failure.

Still, there are a few specific arcs that we should be looking forward to.

These arcs can answer two of our most burning questions; when does Boruto get good? Does Boruto ever become as good as Naruto in quality? Well, without further ado; let us explain to you!

The Chunin Exams Arc:

This arc in particular was one of the first moments where Boruto felt like a great show. Yep, the 50 episodes that came before this arc started in episode 51 were all brain fodder content that was done for world building but felt like fillers.

The Chunin exam arc lasts from episode 51 to episode 66, showcasing the same level of combat choreography but much better animated as it was in Naruto.

This was one of the arcs that did give us a hint that Boruto could be something great going up into the future of the series. It also gave us a huge insight into the new characters and what their abilities are!

The Kara Arc:

Episode 157 marks the beginning of the Kara Arc, which is by far one of them most monumental arcs in the Boruto comic books. Before this arc, I would consider everything as filler.

That’s not because the content is less relevant or isn’t canon; but just due to the quality. The Kara Arc however is the point in Boruto when things finally start to pick up in a massive way.

The arc revolves around an illegal Kara hideout within a facility that has a dark secret.

This arc is great due to the maximum potential it brings out of Boruto as a show, the character development is incredibly well done along with the fights and the arc itself being super engaging.

The Kawaki Arc:

This is the current ongoing arc in the series, which is also by far the best arc in the history of this series in general.

This arc is absolutely fantastic in the sense that it does everything that was missing from the show, Kawaki gets developed, there’s massive revelations about the Karma, there’s a ton of amazingly animated fight scenes and a gorgeous battle between Delta and Naruto.

When it comes to One Piece, you’d never be able to keep up with every single character within the show even if you tried your hardest. It’s a series that has been going on for over two decades now, which is exactly why there are so many characters to dive into within the filler fuelled world of the series.

One of such characters is Nico Robin, primarily known within the world of One Piece as Miss All Sunday. While her original arc with the Straw Hat Pirates started out as an antagonist, she quickly turned her ways around and decided to join them.

She was the seventh member of the crew, as well as the sixth to join. With so much care for a character as beloved as Nico Robin, it is annoying that many people don’t know her exact age. So let us clear it up!

Nico Robin’s Age before the Time Skip:

Nico Robin was pretty well aged even at the start of the series, being the vice president of the Baroque Works, as well as being well known amongst the seven seas.

Not to mention the obvious, her figure quite literally showcased that she wasn’t just another 15 year old looking to make a name for herself on the seven seas.

She was initially aged 28 when she met the Straw Hats, very early on within the series. Hence, her age before the time skip in One Piece was 28 years old.

Nico Robin’s Age after the Time Skip:

Nico Robin was aged 28 when the time skip seemingly happened out of nowhere in One Piece, and with that she got a whole new set of threads and an even meaner style than before.

Though, there is another thing that changed with the time skip of course; and that is her age. Seeing as she was 28 years old when the time skip happened, and the time skip itself skipped over two years of these characters’ lives.

Her age after the time skip is now 30. Yep, Nico Robin is not a 20 something year old character anymore, she’s a grown woman who is in her prime and she’s definitely ready to burn some brigades down!

How did Nico Robin Change During Time Skip?

Well, before the time skip she was much skinnier along with her skin being way more tan than it is now.

She was a skinny, tall and moderately proportioned woman. However after the time skip, her looks have almost completely changed! She is now much fairer in her complexion, along with having much more bust to her overall figure.

Many people assume that it was done just as a mode of fan service for people, however it was also done for comic accuracy within the series.

Let’s be honest, Naruto is a very long series. Not just long either; it is also extremely complicated due to the fact that it has such a HUMONGOUS cast of characters who each have so many of their own stories to tell.

One such case is that of Danzo, a character that has often been shown as extremely complicated with a very mysterious, ominous and dark past.

This isn’t done by mistake either because the creators knew what they wanted to do with Danzo’s character from the very get go. You can tell by the fact that every single detail revealed about him makes sense within the barriers of the Naruto Universe.

Now, one detail about Danzo always confuses most people, even the most hardcore of fans. How did Danzo get the Sharingan? Indeed, a truly hard question to answer but one that we have an answer for nonetheless. Let us explain!

How Did Danzo Get the Sharingan?

There was a specific chapter of the Naruto manga which showcased Danzo getting incredibly close with none other than Orochimaru himself, deciding that he wanted to get enhanced physically and mentally.

Orochimaru was a person who was extremely indulgent in any sorts of physical experimentation, and he took this case on as well.

Successfully implanting Sharingan taken out of the victims from the Uchiha massacre at the hands of Itachi Uchiha.

Danzo was one of the people who was part of organizing the Uchiha clan massacre, thus he knew what he could gain from the deaths of that entire clan.

The Sharingan were harvested off of the corpses, and implanted within Danzo by the hands of Orochimaru himself.

How Does Danzo have Sharingan on his Arm?

You can see Danzo using the Sharingan which were implanted on his arm during the fight against Sasuke.

He used the abundance of Sharingan on his arm to cast the powerful jutsu known as Izanagi, not to mention it is also a forbidden jutsu due to its dark nature.

We know that Itachi massacred the entirety of the Uchiha clan, which led to an abundance of Sharingan eyes just lying there ripe for harvest.

This is where Danzo capitalized on the opportunity, and took the Sharingan for himself. They were later implanted into him by Orochimaru.

Danzo’s Sharingan Arm Abilities:

In the series, Danzo only showcased one of his Sharingan arm abilities known as Izanagi. Izanagi is a forbidden form of Jutsu which was forbidden due to its extremely dark nature.

Izanagi is essentially an ability that can send you back to a point where you cast it, in return though this dark form of Jutsu will take one of your eyes as compensation.

The word Izanagi stands for “He Who Invites”, whereas in Naruto it stands for the “Fate Changer.”

If there is one thing that we know about characters in Naruto shippuden, it’s that these characters can acquire many skills over the time that they progress as characters and as people.

These skills can be anything from survival instincts, types of Jutsu, Ways in which they mature, and just being better ninjas overall. One of such characters is Sasuke Uchiha, who has gone through many different phases throughout the series.

The one thing that most people can remember about him, is that he has something called “The Wheel Eye” which is more commonly also known as the Rinnengan. The Rinnengan is a powerful tool that Sasuke uses to his benefit.

So, the question remains how did Sasuke come to find such a powerful tool within himself and how does he use it? Not to mention; what episode did he get the Rinnengan in? Let’s figure it out!

What Episode did Sasuke get the Rinnengan?

Sasuke acquired his powerful Rinnengan eye For the very first time in the Naruto Shippuden episode number 424.

The episode was very particularly titled as “To Rise Up”. This episode had a huge build up and it led to a hype moment which gave Sasuke the Rinnengan.

How did Sasuke get the Rinnengan?

Sasuke gets stabbed, Madara uses his Rinnengan eye to pierce through Sasuke’s body and almost completely kills him.

However, a portal opens up and takes Sasuke’s spirit inside of itself where he is met by none other paths the Sage of Six Paths.

To save Sasuke’s life, the Sage gives Sasuke half of his power known as the yin half the chakra of the eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.

Now that his chakra reserves and overall power levels were sophisticatedly larger than ever before, Sasuke was ready to receive a much greater power.

This is when he is bestowed the Rinnengan Within his left eye. Afterwards, he is healed by Kabuto and wakes up to join the battle once again.

How did Sasuke use the Rinnengan?

Since he is an Uchiha, Sasuke was able to manifest the Rinnegnan Eye with the blessings of the great Hagoromo Uchiha himself. Sasuke uses his eye to great effect, bringing it out in every situation that he needs it in without over-using or abusing his power.

His Rinnengan is different, as it contains three Tomoe circles around his iris, making a total of 6 Tomoe circles. Sasuke’s Rinnegnan brings much more than just it’s own power, gis Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan is still intact as well as his Rinnengan powers are there.

Making him the most powerful Dōjutsu user in the world. He uses his eye with great effect during and after the Shinobi wars.

However, if the chakra reserves fall to a lower level then the eye loses three of its tiny circles. Making Sasuke’s powers normal just like any other Dojutsu user.

What is the Rinnengan?

The Rinnengan, in simpler terms stands for The Wheel Eye and in direct origin is Samsara’s Eye. The Rinnengan Is the most powerful, and the most commendable eye out of all Three Great Dōjutsu.

It has a violet or purple colour in appearance, it can also be denoted by tiny circles that are surfaced around the eyeballs while it is in use. Sasuke’s Rinnengan was a proper blessing from the great Hagoromo himself, in a sense Sasuke is the successor of Hagoromo.

Dabi was born as Toya Todoroki, meaning he’s the soon of Endeavour, the number one Pro hero. Now that also means he’s the brother of one of the most important characters in the series; Shoto.

Yet he’s considerably older than Shoto, who is just a young teenager in the series at the moment.

Well, unlike most of the others in the show; Dabi is not a young student which means that he’s not in his mid teenage age.

He’s actually a villain for the most part, which is why he’s much older than the rest of the characters.

Dabi was age fifteen when he was said to have died, however after nine years, now he’s 24 years old and ready for some angry vengeance against… Well, everything I guess.

What’s Dabi’s Story?

Dabi is actually the first born son of Endeavour; our resident number one hero! Dabi was presumed dead in a fire when he was very young.

He used to heavily care about his siblings Shoto, Fuyumi and Natsuo; but after witnessing his interaction with Shoto in the Paranormal Liberation Arc; it seems that Dabi has lost that affection completely.

Now, his entire purpose as a member of the League of Villains is to bring his father, the number one hero Endeavour down.

What is Dabi’s Quirk?

Dabi’s quirk is called Cremation. This quirk allows Dabi to generate powerful blue flames which are considerably more dangerous than the normal flames.

Dabi’s control over his highly powerful quirk has made him extremely good in locking down huge areas.

He uses his hazardous flames to great ranges, and locks down ALMOST the entirety of the forest during the Camp Arc.

Now, Boruto isn’t one of those anime that just start out as absolute bangers. It won’t give you an explosive yet traumatic opening like Attack on Titan, nor will it give you an aura of deep mystery and lingering suspense like Cowboy Bebop.

However, it will definitely get good after a huge chunk of the first 50 episodes.

Yep, the series takes that long to marinate in its own world and characters, some of which are by far the most iconic characters in the history of all anime around the world.

To be fair though, the best part about Boruto at the end of the day is the main character himself.

Boruto learns many things throughout the series, one of which is the Jougan. Let us explain the Jougan ability and a few things you should know about it!

What is the Jougan?

Now, the first thing that you need to know about it is that the Jougan can see and sense the Chakra and Chakra Reserves. This means that it is an ability which is by far one of the most powerful in the series, including the Naruto series.

The Jougan is known to be a mix between the Sharingan and the Byakugan, however that part isn’t yet confirmed.

Though what is confirmed is the extreme power that comes with being able to see and sense someone else’s chakra. Boruto can essentially track anyone in the future, not to mention see whether or not they’re gearing up for a heavy or slow attack.

He can use this to his benefit to strategize during battle and gain the upper hand advantage over his opponents within a blink of a moment.

What Does Jougan Name Mean?

The mysterious Jougan has almost little to no information about within the Boruto series at the moment. However the origins of the name and its meaning were found from one of the series’ creators through social media.

The word Jougan, quite literally means; ‘Pure Eye’. Though there isn’t much information over the full powers of this particular ‘Pure Eye’, it still does imply that it is much more than what fans have thought it to be capable of.

How Well Does Boruto Control the Jougan?

Within the series so far, our protagonist Boruto as a teenager has already shown great promise in controlling the Jougan eye, and the karma as well. Boruto’s overall skill is by far much less than Sasuke, Hinata and Neji when they were young ones who had full control over their Kekkai Genkais.

Though, we are certain that Boruto will liberate his fears and take full control over the Jougan eyes soon which means that he will be one heck of a tough competitor to whoever comes up to him.

If there is one thing that we can clearly mention when talking about Naruto; it’s the familial bonds and the way they are depicted within the world of the series. There is so much conflict between each patron and member of every single clan in the world of Naruto that it becomes overwhelmingly hard to see who is in the right.

Whether it’s the story of Naruto and the Konohagakure patrons, Rock Lee and the Lee clan patrons, Hinata and the Hyuga clan’s ways, and finally our boy Sasuke and the Uchiha clan’s patron Itachi Uchiha; there is always conflict.

The conflict between Itachi and Sasuke is something completely different to what people expect though, because there is no right or wrong, and most of the time it is Sasuke who is in the wrong. Itachi on the other hand is molded by his ways.

So this mental and physical conflict is what makes most of Sasuke’s arc. So, what episode does this fight take place in? how does it start and what happens after the dust has settled? Let us explain!

What Episode Does the Fight Take Place in?

The battle between the two estranged and broken brothers takes place in Naruto Shippuden’s sixth season. This is the battle where Sasuke fights Itachi for the very last time in the series, in the episode number 135 of Naruto Shippuden.

The episode is titled as “the Longest Moment”, which explains the inner pain that Sasuke feels as he’s fighting his very own flesh and blood; his brother Itachi.

How does the Fight Start?

There is a flashback scene that leads up to the legendary battle; it shows every single event that lead to Itachi killing all of the members of the Uchiha clan including his parents.

It shows that Sasuke was out doing training, and he arrived home to see his parents being dead and a blood covered Itachi who confesses that he had killed them and the rest of the clan as well.

This sparks the conflict between the two brothers, which goes on for the entirety of the series until Itachi’s eventual death. Now, begins the intense Genjutsu battle between the two brothers.

What Happens After the Fight?

After the battle, they find out that Itachi’s accomplice in the massacre of the Uchiha clan was Madara Uchiha. Not to mention, Sasuke is now a completely broken boy.

Before this incident, Sasuke was quiet and calm but he still had a completely pure heart with only good intentions. Yet after the battle ended, and Itachi had died; Sasuke gave up on any emotions that he ever felt.

The version of Sasuke that we see after the death of Itachi is a much more detached, morally grey version of himself, often portraying himself as an anti-hero rather than a fully-fledged heroic character that we knew him to be.

After the death of Itachi, Sasuke felt very little of anything, if he felt anything at all that is.

One Piece has a penchant for having extremely strong characters within its universe.

Whether it’s Luffy turning into a cannonball to annihilate his opponents, or it is Black Beard being the most badass pirate legend that has ever existed; there will always be characters that are purely overpowered in One Piece.

One of such characters within the series was the Pirate King Mr. Gol D Roger.

His was a character that could be considered truly broken, he even kind of rivaled White Beard even in his prime so you could assume that he’s by far the most powerful within the series?

However, just to consider the facts; let us explain much more about Gol D Roger, his overall abilities and assess just how overly strong he is!

How Strong Was Gol D Roger?!

In terms of raw physical strength, Gol D Roger was beyond human levels of strong however that is normal in One Piece; but somehow he broke even that barrier.

An example of his strength could be shown when he overpowered even Kozuki Oden, and then battled to a stalemate with none other than Edward Newgate himself.

Not to mention, Roger was a tremendously skilled swordsman who literally bullied Oden so easily within mere moments.

He also sword fought against Whitebeard and was shown as equally as strong as Whitebeard during his prime.

He was also one of the very few people in the world who possessed the power to use all three types of Haki, which was one of the most important sources of his strength.

His Ship and Crew:

The Oro Jackson and its Roger crew was the most feared crew across all the seven seas. Now, that in particular was one of the prime sources of Gol D Roger’s strength. His crew was so strong that 99% of the time he didn’t even have to dive into combat for the job to be finished.

He had Rayleigh, the most powerful first mate in the world. He had Shanks who is a Yanko with an incredibly powerful control over Haki, as well as Buggy who was more of a talker than a fighter yet he did well at whatever he did somehow!

Why was Gol D Roger that Strong?

Well, that is a question that even we don’t have a true answer to. However, the fan base truly believes that it was because Oda wanted a character that would be of tremendous inspiration to Shanks, and also to Luffy.

This character would be a pure Legend, who would determine the ways of the world just by pointing his finger. Gol D Roger is a character that was created to be so strong, that everyone else around him aspires to be just like him.

He turned out to be a solid character as the series progressed, which made Oda give him much more development along with a much bigger role within the series overall.
