Rachel & Rafael's Wedding Shoot: Part 1

A little while back we meet Rachel & Rafael and were instantly taken by their sense of style, personality and expression. We knew then we needed to portray them in a photo series. We couldn't believe our luck when they told us they were in the arts, one a dancer and the other in film. Our spidey-photography-senses started tingling, for the chance to capture this dynamic duo at their expressive best.

We decided to take the playful couple and a vintage suitcase into the snowbound forest and see what happens. The result... numb fingers, wet socks and some really fun photos.

Having been married over 5 years ago, their wedding day didn't include a creative wedding shoot, so this was long overdue. Hopefully we hope we made up for it! Thanks Raf & Rach for a wonderful time... and we hope this is just the start of many more creative shoots!

This video is dedicated to everyone who has made our job so fun. To the brides & grooms that trusted our vision and their amazingly supportive friends & families. You are our real Oscar Winners. :)

2010 has already begun, but we will carry last years fond memories and experiences close to our hearts forever. Thank you.

Reena & Colin's Winterlicious Engagement Shoot Part 1

At some point in our lives the meaning of winter changes. Long gone are the days of our youth where we anxiously gaze out the living room window watching the tiny white flakes build up with eager anticipation. The thought of being enveloped in snow seemed liked the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Ahh... those were 'the good ol' days'. Sadly, many of us have lost our childhood fascination of the snow. However, all that was just about to change for Colin and Reena on their winterlicious engagement shoot.

Rekindling old memories we threw caution to the wind (or should we say snow) and made the most of this wonderful season. Exploring backyards, back alleys and back country we reconnected with our inner child. Building snowmen, sledding down hills and hiking brought back fond memories for all of us, but perhaps the one we enjoyed most was the steaming cup of hot chocolate (tea...really) and a warm fireplace.

Needless to say this was one of our funnest shoots yet. We consider ourselves lucky to have meet such a fun loving couple. Thanks Colin & Reena, and we can't wait for your wedding!

Ovais and Manal's Engagement Shoot

We thrive on creative collaboration with our clients. Manal came to us last week with some really fun engagement shoot ideas. We love it when people come to us with a vision...it makes the shoot extremely fun and relaxed. With a car full of balloons and our first winter storm on it's way, Manal and Orvis braved the cold for some amazing photo opportunities in High Park. Trying not to shiver in below zero temperatures with only a dress is a herculean task meant only for the most strongest willed models! After this shoot, I think Manal deserves a running in the Canada's Next Top Model!

Manal looks like a snow princess here...we usually don't over edit our photos as we try to be as perfect as possible in camera. But this photo we had some fun editing and really liked the effect!

Anthony & Nisha's Engagement Shoot

Nisha & Anthony wanted a winter wonderland shoot, but this winter has seemed anything but. Despite the few flakes left on the ground we still were determined to capture their personalities and vision. We pinned our hopes on the Brickworks and it's perennial white backdrop. Our hopes for some of the white gold were quickly dashed by an overnight warm spell, but we had one last trick up our sleeves. We made our way across the street to Todmorden MIlls where we collected the last bits of snow and blew our own winter magic.

Now most people who blow snow onto their clients faces wouldn't typically expect smiles and thanks... but that what makes our job so fun! We had a blast and hope we managed to capture that winter season despite Mother Nature resistance.

From the Land of Colours to the Land of White

We're finally back from India and have hit the ground running! After processing our thousands of photos from India, we were overwhelmed and delighted to relive our memories. Here are just some of our favourite memories of India.

For those who have been, we hope it rekindles fond memories, and for those who haven't, we hope it inspires an adventure for you :)
