Memory Box Tall Dress Form

Inspired by Esther Porter's card I used Bombshell Pro font (purchased from Emily Lime on etsy) and created today's card.

The shiny, white, faux alligator skin paper is from an old (decade or more) Magic Scraps (remember them?) kit. Yes I lined the PTI kraft envelope with it as well.

Memory Box dies: Tall Dress Form, Chic Bag. Background text is a vintage dictionary sheet adhered to white cardstock using Multi Medium, allow to dry then add a layer of Distress Crackle Paint. The subtle texture on the dress form body is a combination of the Memory Box Intricate Heart stamp and Antique Linen Distress ink.

Navy pearls are Zva 2mm; dress form decorated with 3mm chocolate. Quilled rose was formed using Bazzill Candy Hearts (cut into a rounded square, pulled cardstock layers apart, cut piece into spiral; use quilling tool to wind spiral from outer edge inward). Scarf is a swatch of YLI silk ribbon.

I removed the basket of wool felt to peruse...and Mr. Ryan thought I just made him his own niche...wishing you a lovely day!

Memory Box dies: Resting Birds, Grand Madison Window, Lacy Curtains, Woodland Branch.

Burgundy velveteen paper from the stash was used on the birds. Card bases are Memory Box Thistle; background is Studio Calico 6x6 Wonderland; Papertrey kraft windows.

Finished card size: 4.25 x 5.5 inches. Memory Box retired Red Pepper cardstock bases; English doily; white #5 tag, Memory Box Labrador die. Doggie-themed patterned paper is from the stash/unknown.

Bone clips, Papertrey felt, red tags; a set of six cards and coordinating Red Pepper envelopes are housed in a clear-lidded, decorated box (nashvillewraps.com).

These go quickly at the artisan market - the place is rather informal - the market is inside an old factory with a concrete floor - folks bring their dogs and they shop along side each other. One vendor sells homemade organic dog food and another has organic dog treats - as with all food vendors there they offer samples...to dogs, that is - ha. It is quite humorous to observe repeat customers' dogs steering their owners toward those booths. Thanks for stopping by!

My ten-year-old, Abbie, had been at a neighbor's house and tried wasabi peas, and liked them. Abbie is a foodie at heart...anyway the neighbor delivered Abbie her own container of wasabi peas the next day. All I could think of was 'yes! good excuse to use the new pea die!' ha.

Going for a modern look - mirrored bird is Heidi Swapp product from the stash. Memory Box Jasper Leaves die in Bazzill Card Shoppe Juicy Pear and Easter Grass. Finished card size: 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Flower bling is from Hero Arts.

How to safely mail a dimensional card such as this one: corrugate cardstock in a coordinating color and adhere a layer of 3/16 inch bubble wrap to one side - this serves as the protective layer between the card front and the inside of the envelope.

A side note: the Fiskars crimper will not corrugate Bazzill Card Shoppe cardstock well; cardstock is too thick for the hand-held tool to handle.

The new Memory Box Jasper Leaves die is such an elegant piece and I enjoyed working with it today, along with the new hello script die - Bazzill Card Shoppe Easter Grass and Juicy Pear, and mini yellow tag. Ribbon is Strano 3/8 inch Ronee with linen thread. Epoxy dots are MME.

Card base is white textured Bazzill cardstock.

One of my cousins is getting married and I was assigned to make cupcakes for her shower last weekend.

washi tape storage

Wood tray is from amazon.com - an inexpensive, repurposed utensil tray. Vertical, stacked storage for washi tape to me is impractical - if I can't reach it quickly I just don't seem to use it - so horizontal storage was a given. With the tape stored this way I can get what I want quickly, use it, and put it back where it belongs (you know - my OCD and all that) and continue creating.

Tiny tag storage is in the front compartment and frequently used punches are within arms' reach as well.

My friend and neighbor Alice who runs the Boston Marathon every year (I believe this was her 18th) is safe and on her way home. She was stopped short of the finish line and redirected. Very, very thankful she and her family are safe and on their way home - heartfelt thoughts go out to those affected by this unthinkable tragedy.

useless into functional

So the timmy trays (as I have always called these in-house) have become storage devices. Frankly these uniform, machine-made printers trays have always been too large for any project I would want to tackle - would simply take up too much of my time to alter and finish. When they arrived I actually visualized them as flat storage.

I debated about using a vintage printers tray for this style of storage, but the ones I have are too large to be practical for my worksurface, and the vintage ones can't do this:

The individual cubbies pop out for re-organizing (yep, OCD runs rampant!) or when I want to dump them out and peruse while creating.

Bear in mind these trays are not designed to be moved around as a whole - too dangerous (ha) to spill the contents. They pretty much sit in the previously unused corner of the L-shaped countertop in my studio.

...and I like how these trays from Advantus neatly stack. It makes my inner OCD smirk with joy...

If product is out, neatly displayed and visible, I seem to use it.

Those dang Studio Calico wood embellishments that I'm addicted to are now nicely organized. They were previously stored like this - not very accessible but visible:
