How To Make Your Lipstick Application Last Longer with 3 Simple Steps

Don't ya just hate it when your lipstick comes off within an hour of applying it? If so, then here's 3 simple tips that will extend the life of your lipstick while it's on your lips...

1) Make sure your lips are exfoliated properly. Dry, flaky lips will not hold onto any type of pigment well at all. Here's a great DIY recipe for a lip exfoliator you can mix up home for smooth lips: LIP EXFOLIATOR

2) Use a little foundation with some setting powder over top of your entire lip area before applying your lipstick. Not only will this help with making your lipstick stay put longer, it also creates a 'blank canvas' for you to create an entirely new lip line if you want to!

3) Use a lip liner pencil to not only outline the lips, but also fill them in. By filling the lips in with liner, your lipstick will adhere better, plus you'll have leftover color on the lips from the liner even after your lipstick finally wears off.

How To Stop Wasting Your Loose Mineral Makeup!

I've heard this before, "Mineral makeup is messy."

And this one too, "My mineral makeup spills out everywhere and I'm wasting a lot of product."

No worries ladies. I've got a simple solution for you to keep your loose minerals from making a mess and being wasted!

When you open your jar of loose mineral makeup, you'll notice there is a plastic sifter with holes inserted into the jar and some sort of seal overing these holes. Most people make the mistake of pulling off this clear sifter seal entirely in order to dispense the minerals. This is the problem! Without this clear seal attached, all of the sifter's holes are exposed and the minerals can easily escape.

The trick to dispensing only a small amount at a time is to leave the sifter seal in place!

Huh? What? How Am I Supposed To Get The Minerals Out?

Yes- leave the sifter seal attached to the sifter and instead, take a clean straight pin and poke a few holes through the sifter seal right through the sifter's holes. Twist the straight pin around until you've created an opening. Don't poke openings through all of the sifter's holes- only do a few.

Voila! Now you have a simple & easy way to prevent product wastage and excess, messy spills. Your jars are now more user AND travel friendly. ;-)

The most important step in a skin care routine is obviously cleansing. The next most important step, in my professional opinion, is using a facial toner suited for your skin type.

Beauty Quick Tip: A New Use For Lip Balms You Didn't Love

I'll admit it- I am a lip balm/lip gloss addict. I have no shame in saying so. However, as a lippie-product junkie, I've come across a few (even made a few) balms/glosses that just didn't live up to my personal standard.

In the past, I'd simply discard the product by trying to make a two-pointer in the trash can. Not anymore! I'm saving these babies and using them as cuticle moisturizers. Why spend more moola on a separate cuticle product for my nails when I can use the lip balm I was about to dump??? Since they were meant to keep your lips soft and kissable, go ahead and use them to keep your cuticles smooth and moisturized. I now keep some spare balms stashed in my purse to apply on the go and on my nightstand to apply before bed. Quick, easy and convenient.

So, check your makeup bags ladies. If you've got any uncolored lip balms/glosses that you were going to toss for whatever reason, save them for a treat for your cuticles! Your nail beds will thank you. ;-)
