To the handful of regular readers of this blog (and I know you're out there, because I do check the SiteMeter stats)...

As of today, this blog will be placed on an indefinite hiatus. The reason being that I am now gainfully employed once again, and thus will have neither the time nor the desire to maintain said blog.

I actually started this blog when I was laid off last August, and it's been a lot of fun. Seemed like the natural thing for a political (and 'net) junkie to do. I especially appreciate the occasional 'Insta-lanches' of traffic that came with each link from Glenn Reynolds. However, the blog has now become mostly a place for me to post interesting videos and very short, sardonic, ROTFL-witty political commentary.

And really, isn't that what Twitter is for?

So keep following me on Twitter - I'll still be tweeting, doing my part to ensure that Democrats are defeated in 2010, to make sure Barack Obama is a one-term president, and to elect as many principled conservatives as possible to public office over the coming years.

That's right. Those are the Senators who still support ACORN - the criminal enterprise that doubles as a stimulus money dump (when it's not helping 'aspiring politicians' and their 'hooker girlfriends' set up underage prostitution rings that import employees from El Salvador).

I used to think the worst thing about ACORN was that they campaigned for politicians I despise, on my dime.

Turns out, I didn't know the half of it.

But don't worry - the public option is only "triggered" when insurance companies fail to comply with a whole new layer of Byzantine government regulations.

The Wall Street Journal explains:

President Obama has decided that another oration will rejuvenate his health-care agenda—despite having given 27 speeches entirely on health care, and another 92 in which it figured prominently. We'll see how tomorrow night's Congressional appeal works out, but the important maneuvers are taking place in the cloak rooms, as the White House tries to staple together a majority.

The latest political gimmick is the notion of a "trigger" for the public option: A new government program for the middle class would only come on line if private insurance companies fail to meet certain benchmarks, such as lowering overall health spending or shrinking the number of the uninsured. This is supposed to appeal to Maine Republican Olympia Snowe, who could end up as ObamaCare's 60th Senator, while still appeasing the single-payer left.
