Handkerchief Card

I found a wonderful sample on Stampin' Connection (are you wondering what that is? Stayed tuned and I'll explain soon!!). This card resembles our mother's handkerchiefs. Oh, I wish Mom were still here to enjoy this one!! She loved handkerchief's and I have a boxful of them from her!! Special memories.

Tulips Anyone?

It won't be long until the tulips are out!! And I can't wait. We have one bunch of red ones that come back year after year and we know Spring is on the way when they pop up!!

Here's a beautiful tulip card I cased and again I found it on Stampin' Connection. The thing I love about this card is that I used the NEW Extra Larger Two-Step Bird Punch for the petals. The wings for the bird make perfect tulips!! How clever - not me - but someone else - I just cased the idea!! Thanks for the inspiration!! You, too, can recreate this card very easily.

Spring is coming and I am loving it!!

We've had some nice warm days, grass is starting to green up and I can just feel Spring is in the air. Made me want to make a card that woudl look like Spring!!

I saw a card very similar to this and just "needed" to make one like it. Very simple card, but really love it

I cut five 1 1/4" circles from the Pawsitively Prints DSP and arranged them to make the flower. I added the small half-pearl to the center of the Sherbet button - fits just perfectly

Bringing back an old favorite One Sheet Wonder (OSW)

Lee Ann Greff shared an old favorite of mine recently by bringing back the One Sheet Wonder (OSW). I first found this is a Take Ten magazine and it actually was the first class I taught after becoming a demonstrator!! Just love this method of making quick cards.

I started with one piece of Whisper White Card Stock and stamped all over it with the Vintage Vogue Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini 2010 catalog. I then cut up the 8 1/2" x 11" sheet and put together these 10 cards. So easy and quick and beautiful!!

Recessed Window Card

I loved the tutorial on Split Coast Stampers for the Recessed Window Card. Here's one I made earlier as a demo for the club meeting in February. My son and his fiance had their engagement pictures taken and the photographer, Levi Lundy, who was a classmate of Sam's did a superb job. One picture he took was Sam's wedding ring taken on Sam's grandmother's Bible. The ring's shadow is a perfect heart.

Pretty soon St. Patrick's Day will be here and it's always fun to share some green cards.

Here's one I saw that Robbin Messenheimer made. I didn't have exactly what she used, so I made do with what I had.

The Heart Treat Cups that Stampin' Up is offering right now are not just for Valentine's Day. Here's a perfect example.

Tri-Shutter Mini Scrapbook Album

The Tri Shutter card is so popular and after making one you will agree they are beautiful AND easy to make. Right?

After seeing some samples on the internet of some folks who make their tri shutter card into a mini album, I decided to research it and came up with one today.

With wedding plans in the near future for my son and his fiance, that's a lot on my mind, so I decided to make a mini wedding album.

Normally a tri shutter card starts with a sheet of card stock 12" x 5 1/2". Since I wanted to be able to add 4 x 6 pictures, I found a mini tutorial and went by her directions. Her blog is My Love, My Heart, My Art.

Directions:

Start with a 12" x 12"sheet of White Textured Cardstock. Cut it in half. Make each one into a tri shutter fold card by scoring at 2", 4", 8" and 10". Cut 1 1/2" in on the long edge between the 2" and 10" score line. (See instructions on SCS for cutting and folding your tri shutter card)

When you fold your tri shutter card, follow the directions on SCS for the left side of the album and then reverse the folds for the right side of the album.

Now lay out your two cards side by side and butt up the edges together. Cut a piece of card stock in either matching or designer paper 4" x 6" and adhere it over the two edges that are together. I also cut another piece of card stock and covered up the back of the two pieces, so it would be stronger. Here's the two carads ready to be adhered together.

Butt up the edges

Apply adhesive

Add your 4" x 6" piece of designer paper over these two pieces

Turn over and do the same on the back - this makes it more durable.

Now cut two pieces of card stock 6" x 6". Score each one at 2"

Add these pieces to the left and right sides - as below. These will fold over and be the fronts of your album

For the top album I used Whisper White Textured Card Stock with Bride Speciality Paper (115669, page 158). I used the scallop edge punch inside for the top and bottom and added some flowers and half pearls from the Pretties Kit (109114, page 178)

For the bottom I used Very Vanilla Textured Card Stock and Bridesmaid Speciality Paper (116479, page 158)
