Or you could say today is day because the Bus as we know and love it — split windshield, rounded front bumper that hugged the body, woefully underpowered engine — was produced from March 8, 1950 until 1967.

I'm really digging the new History Channel show American Pickers. While they haven't (yet; unless I missed it) drawn attention to it, there is a vintage VW Bus truck in some of the scenes back at the Antique Archeology headquarters. On the site for the business, I found this killer shot of the truck. There is also a thread on The Samba talking about it... sweet ride and a fun show. 

I hope the show is a success and that they have enough recorded for the rest of the season.... I imagine at some point the family members at home watching Gramps sell an old sign for $50 that they flip for $3k will go after them; ironically with an antique pitchfork. I'd choose a different getaway vehicle than the VW if I were those guys, for sure!
