I just ordered this from Little Alouette on Etsy. I am always on the lookout for beautiful Judaica. Most Judaica looks to me like it was designed in the Seventies, and not the cool, fun Seventies either.

I don't know quite how to describe it, but my life has seemed a little like this picture for the past few months.
Lots of health issues.
Crazy weather.
Children, children, children.
Scary economy.
Things that are hard to write about. Things that I won't write about.
But I have been crocheting.
Lots of cowls.
So that's good.
And I love the Florence + the Machine.
And Zooey Deschanel in The New Girl.
Maybe things are looking up?
The dark day yesterday referred to a horrible thing that happened in the next town over from us. A man killed his wife, his two children, and then himself. I did not know them, but many of my friends did. They seemed to be a normal suburban family. We are stunned and saddened, and grappling with how to explan such a thing to our children. I wish I didn't have to tell them at all, but I do, because I know that they will hear about it at school.
It's too soon for me to take any lessons from this tragedy. I'm just sad.

It's embarrassing how giddy it makes me to think that Ben Folds took 20 seconds out of his day to tweet me...

Did I mention that Beatrix has to get up at 6 this year? She's been really good about it, but it's not fun to go to the bus stop in the dark.
